Industrial Maintenance Training

London

Industrial Maintenance Training Ltd (IMT). As a company, are passionate about working with people to assist them in developing their full potential by using the best methods that suit them, not just lecture to them. Therefore the focus of any of the courses is to assist the candidate in developing their own structured way of thinking, as well as working, when having to deal with problems. We start by finding out what they already know and understand, (whether or not it is related to the course content) then use that knowledge to link to the information that we are working on. Whenever possible we do not answer questions directly, instead we ask them different questions, which guides them to working the answers out for themselves. These methods have proven to be a very effective way of ensuring complete understanding of how to achieve their goal and of the technical information that they will require. We offer a range of different courses covering all aspects of production based maintenance issues from basic training of how to use hand tools, up to Adult Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering Disciplines. We also offer company support services such as competence assessments and certification. We can assist in the setting up and implementation of structured authorisation levels for your staff with regards to maintenance activities (an example is on a following page). We work in close association with Bedford Training Group Ltd. (www.btg.org.uk) to offer NVQ assessments at various levels, competence assessment and certification as well as a wide and varied range of supplementary courses and qualification including: C&G 17th Edition Regulations, C&G PAT Courses, Hydraulic & PneumaticTraining, Abrasive Wheels Training, General Workshop Training, Use of Lathe & Milling Machines and Basic Welding Techniques Etc.

Welcome to Foxwood Academy and welcome to our website. Hopefully, you will find all of the information you need on our website but if you have any specific questions you can contact us directly at the Academy. The ‘Help for Everyone’ drop down menu on the far right hand side provides you with clips and links to videos that you might find really useful and the ‘Site Map’ section in the ‘About Us’ menu will take you to a list of everything on the website. We are a school for children and young people with SEND but also a school for parents and carers. We want to provide you with the support and help that you might need and hopefully this website is your first stop. The children, young people and staff at Foxwood are remarkable. We have just over 110 children and young people and approximately 60 staff. Our youngest children start at age 4 and our oldest leave us at the age of 18. All of our children and young people have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and all of our children have difficulties with cognition and learning. About 75% of our children would be described as children and young people with an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC or sometimes called ASD) and others can be described as having Sensory and /or Physical needs. We have a very strong set of core values here at Foxwood that guide us in every decision and action that we take. We believe in: Education – That every child with a special educational need deserves the best possible education available provided by the best teachers in the best schools and Academies. Independence – That every child and young person is given the opportunity to be as independent as they possibly can be. Celebration – That the children and young people should be happy here and celebrate their part in our community. Learning for Life – That Foxwood is a stepping-stone to bright futures. Futures where young adults can be happy, healthy, independent, and play an active part in society. Lots of parents and carers contact the Academy and the website to see if our context; or the children and young people that we teach, are similar to their children and young people at home. Peer groups are very important for our children and so this is understandable. The link here will take you to some data that might help.

‘You matter because you are you; and you matter to the last moment of your life. We will do all we can, not only to help you die peacefully but also to live until you die.’ – Dame Cecily Saunders, founder of the Hospice movement. If you or someone you know has been told they have an illness and might not get better, then you may have heard of palliative care. This is the care that is given to patients with an illness for which there is no known cure. For some patients, this may mean that specialist care is required. Around half of our patients are learning to live with cancer. The remainder will have a diagnosis from a wide range of other illnesses such as heart disease, respiratory conditions, end stage kidney and liver disease and neurological illnesses. Our team consists of highly-experienced professionals ready to provide specialist palliative care to patients who have highly complex needs. We provide specialist nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, bereavement counsellors, social workers, complementary therapists and spiritual care support. All areas of Saint Catherine’s work are supported by a highly dedicated team of volunteers. We know that learning to live with an incurable, progressive illness goes beyond the treatment of the physical and practical. We know that people are likely to feel many different emotions throughout an illness: from fear and anger to anxiety and guilt. The feelings can be overwhelming at times for both patients and their families and friends. Our holistic approach aims at all times to provide individualised patient care, tailoring the delivery of that care to meet the needs of the patient and those close to them and in accordance with the elements of NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guideline 138, providing support and guidance for emotional and spiritual wellbeing alongside the clinical care. Patients don’t need to come and stay at the hospice in order to access our services. We have teams that can visit a patient at home. Sometimes, patients may spend time at our Wellbeing Centre or at an outpatient clinic. At times patients may need the round-the-clock care and support provided by our In-Patient Unit. Our staff and volunteers provide a respectful space where patients can chat and laugh, make friends, and ask questions. We understand sadness and listen to fears. All of our hospice services are free of charge to patients and families.

Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions we receive from parents of our new students: * We are a professional organisation and as such are the premier martial arts association in your area. * Yes, parents do see a marked improvement in concentration levels at school when children have been training with us for a period. * The above classes are for beginner grade children only. * Classes are structured to be fun yet disciplined. We have strict rules regarding fighting / play fighting outside of the classes! * All beginners train in their tracksuit bottoms and t-shirts, they will need a drink of water for during the class. * Our Karate Suits (Gi) cost £35 which includes delivery, white belt & embroidery of Association badge. You do not need to purchase this until you are happy that your child is going to continue their training for the foreseeable future. * Beginner class fees are £26 per calendar month, payable by standing order. We like to encourage students to train as much as possible and even though we only charge for one lesson per week, this fee allows unlimited training in any suitable class, but of course it is up to you how often your child trains! Fees are payable for every month of the year you are a member regardless of attendance. One months’ notice of cancellation in writing is required. * Fees are discounted where more than one direct family members are training! * Please note that once graded to intermediate level students are required to move up a class and train at least twice weekly whenever possible. Monthly fees do increase at Intermediate level. * If for any reason you miss your regular nights training, this can be made up any time at any suitable class within the Association without prior notice! * We do not have Mums, Dads or Guardians in the hall during classes as over the years we have found that children, especially the younger ones tend to join in and enjoy the classes so much more when Mum or Dad aren't looking on. * All Martial Artists no matter how young or old must be licensed! This is a yearly fee, the first year’s licence fee is £27 and includes your Licence & record book, thereafter yearly fees are £22. * All children are taught not to bully and how not to be bullied! If you would now like to book your child up for our free taster classes please go to our website and fill out our contact form, we will get back to you as soon as there is a space available.
