Maymessy has made a huge impact to hundreds of young people who have come here. After a few hours here, they have more collaboration; meaningful communication; teamwork, confidence, self esteem and time outside in the shared garden as well as greater knowledge of healthy eating and wellbeing.
Our services have not stopped since the social distancing measures were implemented in Mar 2020. We have continued to provide much needed support over the telephone and through our zoom classes in addition to face to face classes from April 2021. Bobby joined us a month into our Building Resilience in Communities project in Clyne, Neath. Bobby had previously been working as a carpenter until the pandemic hit in 2020 and had since struggled to find employment. With a move to Wales and the realisation that he didn’t have the relevant paperwork to support his skills, Bobby’s self-esteem and motivation to find work had plummeted.The Community Impact Initiative C.I.C. (known as the Cii) is an award-winning social change organisation committed to the development, improvement, and sustainability of our communities.
