My name is Steph. I’m delighted you’ve found your way here to my website. So here it goes, a little about me and how I discovered this magic thing called yoga… To be honest, yoga wasn’t something I had given much thought to before I happened to find myself in the middle of a yoga class. After years of inactivity and sitting in an office chair staring at a computer nine to five, I remember how challenging my first class was. I had no idea what to expect, what I was doing or even why I was there. But, something about it brought me back the next week, and the next, and the next… Simply showing up changed everything! Do yoga with Steph at Three Towns Yoga Yoga was an unexpected discovery that took me completely by surprise. With each practice, it gradually became more and more a part of my life. My yoga practice helps me know myself better and helps keep me present and grounded as I continually search for balance in my life. Teaching and sharing what I’ve discovered about yoga so far is a real privilege and I’m dedicated to learning more so I can share it with you. I’ve been able to practise and learn with many wonderful teachers who have helped me discover more about this amazing practice. I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training qualification with CYS Glasgow at Merchant City Yoga. I’ve studied with Bernie Clark, completing a further 50 hour Yin Yoga teacher training course. I practise regularly under the expert eye of my teacher Judi Farrell at Merchant City Yoga and assist her in the ‘Mysore’ room. I’ve also practised and learned with a host of amazing teachers including Rose Ann McKean, Siobhan Fitzgerald, David Keil, Scott Johnson, David Robson, Peg Mulqueen, Jacinta McBurnley, Taylor Hunt and James Boag. In teaching and sharing yoga, I hope to open the door to possibility, discovery and change for others with the same care and compassion as it was opened for me.

Dr. Steve Wolf, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY 10230), in private practice in West Los Angeles. After teaching Anger Management for five years, he was recognized as having diplomate status with the National Anger Management Association (NAMA) in 2005; which he currently holds. He has been an innovator throughout his professional career. He co-directed New York City’s first Prison Therapeutic Community Program in Rikers Island Prison’s Psychiatric Ward in 1973 and directed Rikers’ first Therapeutic Community Drug Program for the general prison population in 1974. He directed a Day Treatment Center in Litchfield Connecticut, volunteered with the L.A. Sheriff’s Department to co-create Project Turnaround, an Acupuncture Detox program on L.A.’s skid row. He co-created an alternative middle school in Topanga, CA, co-authored “Romancing the Shadow: A Guide to Soul Work for a Vital Authentic Life” (Ballantine, 1997, translated into six languages), and developed “The Village Circle Project”: leaderless groups for self-exploration. He consulted as a Co-Occurring Disorders therapist in Los Angeles working with men coming directly from prison, jail or the street for five years. In 2006, he authored the “Taming Your Anger” series of English and Spanish workbooks, DVD’s, C.D.’s and workshops. He recently taught the Taming Your Anger/Emotional Intelligence Method to at-risk teens and has produced a documentary film of that program. In 2010. he founded the Wolf Training Institute, which serves as the umbrella for all the programs in development. This is where the practitioners are certified to teach and coach the Taming Your Anger, Taming Your Anxiety and CouplezWork Programs. The Taming Your Anger Program is recognized by the National Anger Management Association. In 2012, he produced the documentary, Remedy 4 Rage; the story of one alternative high school group and their journey into exploring their own emotions. In 2014, he began to host the weekly “Shrink Different Radio Show” on the TFOK Network. He has interviewed celebrities and regular people who have interesting lives. The show is about people and their passions. He maintains a therapy practice, working with adults and couples in West Los Angeles. The next book is on the evolving couple and is scheduled to be released in early 2020.

Youth Development – providing training, information and support to young people. Annually, our youth team engage with around 900 young people across a suite of projects. We deliver schools-based Good Relations training, an internet safety project, sixth form enrichment training, and shared education. Our centre based projects include the Duke of Edinburgh Award/Gaisce – The President's Award, volunteer training, the NI National Citizen Service project and Youth in Government. Bramfield House School was established in 1970 as a specialist provision for pupils with social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. It is an all boys establishment catering for an age range of 7-16 and is registered for 74 pupils. It is situated in rural Suffolk 10 minutes drive from the heritage coast. The residential accommodation consists of the main house sitting in 10 acres of gardens and 1 mile from the centre of the village of Bramfield. The classroom facilities are independently placed within the grounds and consist of purpose made specialist subject provisions. Alongside the school site we provide a separate residential accommodation called Ibstock House that caters for the further development of pupil’s independence skills. This house has its own designated classroom and gardens, approximately ¾ of an acre and can support up to 6 boarding pupils. Both can access the numerous on-site resources on offer, including an indoor heated swimming pool, gymnasium, multi-gym, pool tables and table tennis table, full size sports pitches and outdoor adventure trail, amongst a host of other in- house activities and interests. The ethos of the school is based on trust and mutual respect, providing the opportunity for every individual to maximise their own potential in a warm and caring environment. The pupils are supported in discovering their personal attributes, and to then themselves acknowledge these skills, building their confidence and self-esteem so that this can then be transferred and used to develop and enhance all areas of their social and educational development. The professional staff group engages with pupils to explore new and varied environments and interests, using these opportunities to build relationships and understanding, so that they may be better placed to provide individually tailored support to the pupil. The school is well aware of the difficulties that been previously encountered by the young people coming into our care and will start afresh, positively supporting the pupils individuality alongside promoting the value of appropriate social skills. Empowering individuals and teams to thrive, navigate the ups and downs in life and reach their potential both personally and professionally is a real privilege and a passion. Resilience, confidence, collaboration, trust and emotional wellbeing (meaning purpose, strengths and values) are the areas in which I’m most interested. My enthusiasm for coaching evolved through my 35 years of sales and management, mostly within pharmaceutical sales with Pfizer Oncology and an early career in recruitment. From sales performance coaching in 2018 I progressed to personal development coaching and at the start of the COVID 19 pandemic I started coaching via the NHS leadership academy and private sector. It was at this time that I also trained to be a cancer coach with Cancer Support UK. Whether facilitating team and leadership development days or 1:1 coaching I bring energy, fun and creativity to virtual and face to face interactions. As an ILM5 coach and facilitator my approach is empathetic, encouraging, inspiring and strengths and solution focused, drawing on a variety of coaching models and leadership practices including Appreciative Inquiry and Brene Brown’s Dare to Lead. I am an accredited Conversations Worth Having practitioner, an ILM wellbeing coach, a cognitive behavioural therapy practitioner, a mental health first aider and Mental Health Swims host. I also provide cancer coaching and support for Cancer Support UK, Youth Cancer Trust and ALK Positive and EGFR positive UK. Inspired by my love of the outdoors, and a Nature as Co-Facilitator programme, I like to weave the natural world into our conversations where possible. My top Gallop Strengths are Ideation, Strategic, Focus, Achiever & Competition. Simply put, I love bringing people together to define the challenge, establish the best of what has been before and explore what is possible in the future. “Everything we need is within” is my coaching philosophy. What can we learn from nature about resourcing ourselves and adapting to life’s ups and downs? Identifying my clients’ purpose, meaning, signature strengths and values is part of this process. Adapting to change can be uncomfortable and, like trees, this can be when we grow the most. When we create the right conditions, we can blossom.

The idea for Birmingham Egyptology arose in 2003 following the graduation of a class of MA Egyptology students eager to maintain their social network. In the following years members met socially and, on occasions, joined together for field trips and enjoyed involvement in research projects and, as a result, several of the original members of the group are still in regular contact. The group newsletter was first published in 2006 and circulation was extended to other interested groups and societies within the discipline. With the addition of new members through the various postgraduate programmes at Birmingham numbers have gradually increased until, by 2011 it was felt that we had sufficient strength in depth to host the CRE conference. That event took place in March 2012, its apparent success inspiring our most recent development: the formation of the Birmingham Egyptology Forum. The Forum brings current postgraduates together with alumni, other students and academics associated with University of Birmingham, and members of the public to work on a variety of projects. Regular seminars are held within the University to discuss matters of mutual interest. Other activities continue the work relating to the Eton Myers collection of objects currently on loan to the University following on from the initial catalogue of essays published on the University web site in June 2012. A summary of Birmingham Egyptology activities are presented on this web site to engage the interest of all persons interested in the topics raised, and updates will be made from time to time as opportunity allows. Items of the type formally published in the newsletter will now appear on the blog section whereas those of a more academic nature will appear in the journal section. The Birmingham Egyptology Journal, ISSN 2053-3586, is a peer-reviewed publication, available free of charge, which provides a platform for the presentation of scholarly articles relating to the culture, history, and archaeology of ancient Egypt and to which Birmingham Egyptology invite contributions from outside sources. Those interested in submitting articles may wish to consult the guidelines for contributors outlined in the ‘Journal’ section.
