Liz is passionate about supporting and empowering people to move through areas of restriction in their lives. When we are recognised, witnessed, and understood as individuals, in a safe, non-judgemental space, we can integrate all the strengths and vulnerabilities we encompass. Experiencing a compassionate relationship is a foundation to be able to identify, feel and heal the challenges you face, be the best version of yourself, whatever that may look like, and thrive. Liz Lilley is a Humanistic Psychotherapist, Massage Therapist and Breathwork Facilitator. She also provides Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy on Clinical Trials using psilocybin in the UK, integrating her professional experience from all her passions into her therapeutic practice. After many years of working with the body and witnessing the somatic release of trauma Liz went on to study psychotherapy in order to bring her knowledge of the mind-body in line with her experiences. She has supported thousands of people through bodywork and counselling yet felt there was a missing piece of the puzzle to her offerings. Then she discovered simple and powerful breathwork techniques, had some deeply profound personal experiences and went on to become a trained Breathwork Facilitator, completing the puzzle. Liz now holds group and one-to-one sessions online and in-person combining these practices to enhance the healing potential of unifying Body, Mind and Breath. Liz has an ongoing interest in expanded states including breathwork, meditation, psychedelics and shamanic journeying as tools and openings that enhance self-awareness, creativity, connection and therapeutic release. Her experiences in these practices have informed her focus on the integration of her client’s exploration into the Body, Mind and Breath. She believes that with focus, intention and integration we can prolong the benefits of the work we do on ourselves. Liz has held sharing circles, worked in young people’s mental health and with refugees and has supported people who have experienced domestic abuse and homelessness. Liz developed a special interest in working as a Psychedelic-Integration Psychotherapist and is on the Advisory Board and is the Project Lead for Growthful Networks, the community area for the Institute of Psychedelic Therapy as well as a registered practitioner on their database. She has also faciltated breathwork sessions for the therapists training for the DMT for Depression clinical trial and provides Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy on clinical trial research for psilocybin for mental health conditions.

Life is busy. So much to do and achieve. Days turn into weeks, time is always slipping away as we try to fit everything into an already overfilled schedule. We lack the space to befriend ourselves. To listen to what our body and heart really desires for us. This can leave us feeling tired, with headaches, anxious, unable to sleep, full of aches and pains, a sense of being unwell but unable to pinpoint what or why. My experience of this, left my body exhausted and my mind in a state of confusion. Eventually my body refused to play the game of life at the pace I demanded. I knew deep down something had to change. I returned to my practice of yoga, I studied the breath, its connection to our emotions and thoughts. I learnt how the body holds the secrets to our own happiness. I studied yoga nidra, different meditation and awareness practices, relaxation techniques and the power of visualisation. I watched how as we layer these practices into one long experience it has the power to shift entire groups of people from a sense of dis-ease into complete ease. This makes my heart sing, to take just an hour with a group of people and create a space to enable them to reconnect to their most authentic selves. I feel empowered by what I do and get so much joy from creating custom pleasure tools for clients that I decided to share the experience and give others the opportunity to create something fun, unique and really personal. My workshops are rewarding experience; they nurture playfulness, creativity and connection with ourselves and others. Yes, we’re putting enamel decals on porcelain sex toys but these workshops are so much more than the sum of their parts. They push people’s boundaries and challenge preconceptions in a gentle, fun, and creative way, encouraging a healthy attitude toward sexuality and ownership over our own pleasure. What to expect. A warm, welcoming atmosphere. Because we use a range of pre-printed enamel decals, no artistic ability is required. Spaces are limited but everyone is welcome regardless of artistic ability. I don't specify that all the workshops are women only but that tends to be the case. The workshop lasts around 3.5 hours and once decorated, the handmade dildo needs to dry for 24 - 48 hours before being enamel fired and shipped in the post. It’s amazing to see what people create with the same resources; there is always so much diversity and it's wonderful to see my dildos embellished with your creative designs. Prosecco, light refreshments and treats and return postage are included in the workshop fee. Studio vibes. During the workshops, conversations amble from the intimate, to playful, emotional, insightful, and uplifting; everyone who attends has a different story and fresh perspective. It’s humbling to share the afternoon with so many inspiring women (and sometimes men!) creating together. One of my past participants said that it was like therapy for her and I guess it is for all of us in some way. Every person leaves feeling like they've formed a connection with each other and some even stay in touch after the session - it’s such an awesome feeling to see the workshops creating a community. We are a volunteer led work with very few staff, but this does not mean we are a small organization. We can see as many as 300 people a day, looking for our assistance. We remain open every day Our impact remains high We can do this for a fraction of the cost of other day centres. We do this without any statutory funding. We recognize the true strength of our volunteers. And we recognize the value of everybody coming through our doors. First, we help people by meeting immediate needs: food, shelter, clothing, and medical care. In our recovery programs, we address deeper needs for life-skills and job-skills training, and addiction recovery. We measure our progress against four criteria, which indicate to us that a life has been transformed from homelessness to hope: connection to family, commitment to sobriety, a job and a place to live, and a plan for the future. Today, The Whitechapel Mission is a results-oriented organization that is recognized as one of London's most effective.
