This 1-day course is all about exploring the art and science of using essential oils to improve wellbeing, cognition and engagement for clients living with dementia. As well as sharing my knowledge I will welcome you to share your experiences and expertise to generate the best outcomes for clients. I’m constantly amazed at the profound connections and improvements I see or hear about from loved ones and care partners during and following aromatherapy massage treatments. This course is specialist training for qualifying or qualified aromatherapists who wish to explore their art and increase confidence working in this rewarding field. Although participants would benefit from attending my “Massaging Persons Living with Dementia” course first, it is not a pre-requisite. Participants can attend this later as part of their CPD to become more inclusive and dementia informed in their practice if they wish. Pre-requisite - for qualified or qualifying aromatherapists “When words escape us – the senses connect to our very essence.” This course is all about blending our aromatherapy and massage art with science to generate the best outcomes for clients who live with dementia. As well as sharing her specialist knowledge about therapeutic interventions for people who live with dementia, Nicolle will be encouraging you to bring your expertise, experience and knowledge to share with the group, be that in the form of studies, case studies, anecdotes or other sources. You will also be asked to bring along a minimum core of essential oils as well as encouraged to bring along your essential oil collection if you wish, to expand the group’s knowledge through playing with new ideas. We will take a close-up look at the benefits of essential oils and how they can improve the quality of life for a person living with dementia, explore gentle massage techniques, and prescribe essential oils in different mediums to best suit a client’s needs safely in a dementia informed way. Duration 2 Days Validity 3 years Course Overview The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Requalification is a nationally recognized qualification designed for individuals who currently hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate and need to renew their qualification. This course enables learners to refresh their knowledge and skills, ensuring they remain competent in managing workplace first aid emergencies. This requalification course meets the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements and helps ensure that learners can continue to act as qualified First Aiders in their workplace. It covers a broad range of emergency situations and provides hands-on training to update and reinforce existing skills. What’s Covered Refreshing roles and responsibilities of a First Aider Conducting updated incident assessments Adult CPR & AED usage Managing unconscious casualties Treating wounds and bleeding Providing first aid for shock Managing fractures, sprains, and other musculoskeletal injuries Administering first aid for burns and scalds Treating minor injuries (e.g., cuts, bruises) Dealing with medical conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, and anaphylaxis Reviewing legal requirements and incident reporting Entry Requirements Participants must hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate that has not expired beyond the 28-day grace period. Facilities: On your course you will be provided with tea & coffee making facilities and biscuits. We are in a rural location so we recommend brining lunch with you on the day. There is a microwave & fridge on site for your use. There is a garage that is approximately a 10 minute drive from our venue. Parking: We have a dedicated car park that is approximately a 300m walk to the training venue. There is no additional cost to use this parking. What is required from you: All courses are delivered in English, you must have a basic understanding of the English language to attend. There is a requirement for you to show that you are capable of performing the skills you are taught on the course, due to this you will need to be physically able to demonstrate all practical elements of the course. Dress: As a company we pride ourselves on running immersive & practical training courses. You will often be expected to kneel & work outdoors, please dress appropriately. Identification: As we deliver Ofqual accredited courses, there is a requirement for you to show a form of ID on the first day of the course. This could be; a driving license, passport or something that clearly shows who you are. Timings: All of our courses have a minimum training time of six hours a day, we will often advertise a course as seven hours to include break times. On occasion it is required to go over the scheduled times, however this will always be discussed with the group on the day.
