Starting with a photo or perhaps sketching a sea scape for yourself we will cut out pieces of fabric from the Stitching Kitchen Stash and apply them to the background using a combination of iron on adhesive and stitch. Further embellishment using a variety of threads and beads, buttons and sequins can be added using a sewing machine, you can use your machine for standard sewing or free motion as you wish.&nbsp;
The finished piece can be framed to hang on a wall or incorporated into another project.&nbsp;
Your tutor will be Hannah, the owner of Stitching Kitchen. She set up the business in 2017 to share her passion and skills in all things involving textiles, fabric and threads. Her courses are relaxed and fun, they are held in her Stitching Kitchen in Brackley, Northants where she provides a range of teas, coffee and homemade cakes.
What&#39;s included-&nbsp;
Full instruction from Hannah is included in the course along with all the materials you need to create your own piece of textile art. The tools and equipment needed will all be available to you. &nbsp;Cake and drinks will be provided.

Welcome to the fascinating alchemy that is wet felting.&nbsp; Starting with wool fibres in a wide range of colours we will create a piece of felt &ndash; which could be a picture or completely abstract. &nbsp;The finished fabric will be suitable to stitch into or just hang on the wall. &nbsp;
During the workshop you will learn all the skills you need to be a successful felter.&nbsp; You will choose the fibres, layer them in the right way and then wet the wool and encourage it to knit together.&nbsp; Once the initial wool tangling has been achieved it is then onto the felting proper, it does take a bit of energy on your part but is worth the effort.&nbsp;
You will take home a finished item at the end of the session and I will keep you motivated with tea and cake!&nbsp;
If you want to continue at home, I always have plenty of wool roving and felting tools in stock.

Throughout her career, she has held key positions such as COLP, HOLP, MLCO, MLRO and DPO for law firms and various regulated businesses and services.Helen&rsquo;s specialised areas encompass AML, complaint and firm negligence handling, DPA compliance, file review and auditing, law management, and operational effectiveness in law firms, particularly in conveyancing (CQS).

In January 2024 alone, reports were published about the SRA taking enforcement action against 3 firms and 4 individuals for failure to comply with the Money Laundering Regulations 2017. The fines issued for these non-compliances total over £570,000 plus costs. The absence of staff training, or requirement to complete additional training, was noted in a number of these cases.
Action has not only been taken against solicitors, but also other individuals who are not regulated by the SRA, whose breaches were so serious that the SRA felt compelled to take action. 
As all SRA enforcement action, from rebukes to fines, is published by the SRA, the potential financial and reputational impact upon firms may be felt by all staff, regardless of whether they had any direct involvement with the non-compliance.

The workshop explores the exciting textural properties of felt, using basic knitting techniques and experimental materials.

All levels of ability are welcome.&nbsp; &nbsp;The class includes a worksheet, samples and a PowerPoint presentation, to inspire further ideas for after the session.
