suffolk coast sailing
Having grown up sailing dinghies and yachts, Robin joined the Merchant Navy from
school and soon became a Navigating Officer on general cargo ships trading to
all parts of the globe. Coming ashore, Robin’s varied but essentially marine
career, took him through marine electronics, HM Coastguard and Harbour Master.
Entering a sort of semi-retirement in 2014 he and his wife, Teresa, cruised
their own boat to the east coast of Sweden. Since then, Robin has enjoyed
instructing RYA practical and shorebased courses. “Improving nautical skills is
of course hugely important,” Robin says, “but I also like to get across the
‘essence’ of life onboard a boat – to experience and appreciate the marine
environment around us”. Keith Profile Keith Miller RYA Yachtmaster Instructor
