nottingham rowing club
Nottingham Rowing Club, based near Trent Bridge, is the largest club in the East
Midlands and one of the most successful in the country.Nottingham Rowing Club
was formed in 2006, initially as a result of the merger of the Nottingham Boat
Club and the Nottingham Britannia Rowing Club, two historic Nottingham clubs
that were established in 1894 and 1869 respectively. During the hundred-plus
years of the two separate clubs both had various major achievements, but by the
beginning of 2006 the votes of both clubs’ memberships supported the committees’
view that the sum of the two clubs would be greater than its parts and the
merger process started. Nottingham Rowing Club has two well-equipped
boathouses-the Boat Club and the Brit, each with changing and toilet facilities,
function rooms and well a stocked bars. We also have a very active social side
too. holding an annual awards ceremony and dinner, as well as other parties,
dinners, outings etc so watch out for posters displayed around the club.
Lifelong friendships are forged at this all-age, all-ability, rowing club.
