CultureMix Arts is an international music and carnival arts company based in Berkshire, UK. We encourage participation and development offering employment opportunities in the music industry and the carnival sector. An Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation (ACE NPO) CultureMix Arts has it’s roots in African Caribbean culture from steel pan music and Carnival masquerade of Trinidad and Tobago to Jamaican reggae music. As a not for profit organisation our focus is on the professional development of young people seeking a career in the creative industries. Internship and work experience programmes offer training in business, finance, tutoring and event management.

Our members work in non-performance roles in live events, broadcasting, film and cinema, digital media, independent production, leisure, IT and telecoms, theatre and the arts. Our members are ambitious, even when they face uncertainty and precarious conditions in their career. As a union, we’re ambitious, too. We will support members when something goes wrong at work and we’ll stand up for their rights and protect their jobs. At London College of Communication, our dynamic community of staff, students and graduates discover new possibilities in creative communications. We support our students to explore the power of storytelling, develop a career they love, and to make a difference across wider society. Taught by experienced practitioners, they create work that challenges and inspires in ways that generate responsible and imaginative futures, and have opportunities to showcase their projects through events and exhibitions. As graduates, they go on to shape the creative industries by forging their own paths in thoughtful and experimental ways. Our outstanding facilities are central to student life at LCC, and enable us to learn, research, make and innovate. We use the diversity of our skills, voices and experiences to work closely with local communities and transform the world around us, and have strong industry networks that enable us to collaborate with organisations ranging from start-ups and charities to leading global businesses.

We are Emma Willis and Owen Manby, two producers who love what we do. For over a decade, we have led, trained and scaled creative production teams. We’ve worked client-side, brand-side, and agency-side, making beautiful things with hundreds of talented people from all over the world. The Mission Being a producer is the best job in the world, but it’s hard! There’s no formal learning path or career track to become a producer, so we all just wing it, picking up whatever knowledge and skills we can along the way. We want to change that by becoming the first accrediting body to offer producers an industry-backed education, raising the value and visibility of our profession inside and outside the creative industries.

Bio: Rifa is an award-winning coach, consultant, and connector for the digital and creative industries. She advocates for diversity and inclusion for women and people of colour. Rifa is the organiser of the successful networking group SheSays Brighton for women in tech and the festival director of Spring Forward. She worked for over 25 years as a digital project manager in the tech industry; building large-scale websites, working at a senior level with global clients. Rifa is also a Sivananda Yogi and advanced meditation teacher. She trained with Tibetan Buddhist monks in Nepal and with gurus across India. Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of everything she does and champions women and people of colour wherever possible.

Arts Connect – Our Guiding Principles Arts Connect works with a variety of partners including education, arts, culture and local government in the West Midlands to ensure that all children and young people can benefit from engagement in high quality arts and cultural activities. We believe that engagement with the arts and culture in all its forms, the opportunity to take part, to create and produce culture supports young people to build the social and cultural capital that enables them to thrive. It builds creative skills that are valued by employers and can provide pathways into careers in the creative industries. We know that cultural opportunities for young people are not equal and this correlates with post code, socio-economic disadvantage, rural isolation, ethnicity, family status and disability, amongst other factors.

Our vision is to improve the future of children everywhere by enhancing learning experiences through activities that place creativity at the heart of curriculum learning. Our Story As Creatives began life in 2008 as a group of six freelance creative practitioners who all felt that the sum of our parts gave us a far greater chance of fulfilling our shared aim to see Creative Learning at the heart of education. With backgrounds across the Creative Industries, including classical acting, illustration, theatre directing and sculpture, we were all determined to keep space in our lives for our individual practices while finding time to work together to design a range of creative learning workshops and programmes, that we could offer to schools and the wider community. The success of this way of working led us very quickly to set up as a limited company and we have never looked back! Twelve years on our mission remains unchanged. We believe more than ever in the power of the arts to transform lives, fuelled by our first-hand experiences. We have expanded to work with a wider group of creative practitioners, all specialists in their fields, and we continue to work together both nationally and internationally to find new and exciting ways to engage children and young people in their learning.

Learning about business is a great way to develop a solid understanding of how a business functions. It provides insights to real-time scenarios, such as identifying business core issues as well as creating and implementing business strategies in various industries. Business careers span in multiple industries, ranging from banking to creative industries. In other words, students in our Business programmes will leave with an academic qualification that is versatile and relevant in any organisation. Thus, employers from multinational corporations and Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are always on the lookout for Business graduates due to the breadth of skills they could offer to a business, and the potential they have to become future business leaders. Alternatively, you can start your very own business as you apply what you have learned from our Business core and elective modules

the unit

The Unit aims to be a hub of production, learning, and supported and targeted networking for filmmakers and content creators in the Bradford district. Whether by providing production support through equipment loans, post-production facilities, or meeting spaces or whether through workshops with industry leaders from companies like Channel 4, The Unit has a goal of helping to carve pathways to employment in the creative industries for users of the space. The Unit is aiming to provide full-service editing bays and high quality production equipment by September, We do currently provide meeting and screening areas for self-scheduled events as well as The Unit's own programme of events and workshops. The Unit will be based for the first six months in the Impact Hub Bradford, which is in Little Germany at the Design Exchange 34 Peckover St, Bradford, BD1 5BD
