The Ark is a limited company, registered with Ofsted and has been operating since 20th April 2004. The Board of Directors are made up of volunteer parents and, though limited, all profits made are re-invested into the club. If you are interested in becoming a Director, please contact the Business Manager for more details. The Ark is a non-profit making enterprise and is entirely self-funding; we aim to keep our fees to a minimum, whilst still raising enough income to cover our running costs.

Our Out of School Care offers your children a safe and secure environment in which they can explore and play with their friends in a relaxed atmosphere. We understand that Out of School Childcare with a good play environment can enhance children’s learning at school and our qualified Playworkers work with your children and schools to support this. The Children’s Play Council (1998) say: “Play is an essential part of children’s life and vital to their development… It is essential for physical, emotional and spiritual growth, for intellectual and educational development, and for acquiring social and behavioural skills… It may be boisterous and energetic or quiet and contemplative, light-hearted or very serious.”

Since 2015, Little Acorns Clubs has been dedicated to providing a fantastic wraparound childcare service for children aged 4-11 years. Located in Jesmond URC on Burdon Terrace for our Breakfast and After School Clubs, we are just a short walk away from West Jesmond Primary School. In 2020 Little Acorns Clubs underwent a change of ownership and is now flourishing under the leadership of Gemma Park and Donna Albon. The club has gone from strength to strength with the addition of exciting new holiday clubs and a range of new activities for the children to enjoy.

Welcome to T.A.S.C. T.A.S.C. officially opened in May 1995 to meet the needs of the local community. It is run by a Voluntary Management Committee made up from parents/carers and other members of the local community. The service aims at providing a quality childcare service in an environment which is safe, caring and stimulating.
