The Unicorn Centre, a registered charity, is a purpose built riding for the disabled facility which offers riding therapy and learning and training opportunities for over 200 disabled adults and children from the Tees Valley area each week. Opened in 1998, the Centre has become an established part of the local community, with a strong contingent of about 100 local volunteers who assist with riding lessons each week. View our video about the Unicorn Centre and what it can offer here: Unicorn Centre Video Our aim is to provide riding for people with disabilities in an inclusive, safe and supportive environment that will allow each individual to achieve their full potential. To provide this service we depend on a committed group of staff and volunteers and input from families and personal assistants.With limited funding from user fees, we rely entirely on fundraising and donations to subsidise the cost of lessons. In addition we depend on contributions by able-bodied individuals and clubs also making use of our facilities. The Centre works across the spectrum of disabilities, age range, social status and environments. Our focus is to ensure that each individual is given the chance to derive a direct therapeutic benefit and the opportunity to achieve their full potential; whether that be sitting with support astride a pony and riding down one side of the arena or competing at Paralympic dressage level.

Keeping Well in South East London (KWSEL) is a partnership between the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Services provided by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust (Oxleas), Bromley Healthcare and Mind (Bexley). The KWSEL hub was set up during the Covid-19 pandemic due to the considerable challenges and stresses experienced by health and care professionals. Keeping Well in SEL support is available to all staff delivering health and care services across SEL. This includes a universal offer through a digital portal which includes access to self-help resources, self-assessment, live chat and a community forum. We also offer telephone mental health assessments if you think you need psychological support, and wellbeing conversations if you need someone to talk to. The Keeping Well service is here to provide wellbeing and psychological support to: All NHS staff in South East London All staff in care/residential homes in South East London All voluntary sector staff in South East London, so long as some NHS/social care funding is allocated to your health and care organisation. From its origins in 1992, when the local housing association at that time allocated a tenement house to a group of residents who were keen to participate in the arts, Drumchapel Arts Workshop, (DRAW) has continued to hold a valued and valuable place in the local and wider community. Since those early days many developments and positive partnerships have evolved, and from our milestone achievement of obtaining charitable status in 2010, our recently established venue on the ground floor of a block of high rise flats offers an informal workplace in which those from the local community and beyond can express their creative potential. Originally DRAW was encouraged to seek funding through Urban Aid, and we are currently funded through GCC from an Integrated Grant Fund. Over the years a dedicated committee has worked to ensure a wide variety of interesting and successful programmes and projects are available to participants. The many statutory organisations and agencies with whom we have worked, including the NHS, occupational therapists, Momentum, Right Track and Careers Scotland continue to help us to open access to the arts and to widen the horizons of those who participate in the project. The sense of wellbeing, confidence and social integration which evolves from appreciating and sharing our cultural wealth is frequently acknowledged by our participants and we welcome and enjoy a diverse clientele.

We aim to become a key hub for emerging fiction filmmaking talent in Scotland, supporting writers, directors and producers to develop creatively and professionally, and stimulating the creative and commercial success of Scotland’s film sector. Short Circuit has an international outlook, helping Scotland-based filmmakers navigate the hugely exciting opportunities of the short film and first feature world. Sharp Shorts Our short film scheme – Sharp Shorts – invites teams, writers and writer/directors to submit their short film ideas, and also encourages directors and producers to submit a note of interest to take part. This year, up to 12 projects will be selected to take part in a 3-month development phase. After pitching for a production award in September 2022, up to 9 projects will be selected to receive up to £15,000 of funding. Applications for Sharp Shorts 2022 are now closed. Further information is published here. First Features First Features supports projects from initial idea to fully polished draft. There will be two levels of awards, distinguished between early development (to treatment or first draft) and further development (second draft and beyond). You will be able to apply via the online application form for support at either level. The scheme is for writing, writing/directing and producing talent from all across Scotland who have bold and compelling fiction projects with theatrical ambition and the potential to resonate with audiences globally.

At Hoofprints we rehome and rehabiliate welfare horses. When they come to us they are withdrawn, often very underweight and weak, they require alot of understanding and ptience to bring the best out of them. This takes months. We have since rehomes over 21 horses in the last 9 years. “It was a delight to visit Hoofprints today and witness its fantastic works. Lucy and her volunteers do a wonderful job, not only in teaching local children and adults to ride, but also in rehabilitating and caring for horses in dire need of care. “Lucy has a wealth of expertise and it was clear that the invaluable instruction she imparts is filling youngsters with an enthusiasm for riding which hopefully will last a lifetime. However, the team there know as well as anyone that riding lessons, even though Lucy’s charges are competitive, are beyond the pockets of many people. Her particular ambition is to reach out to youngsters with learning difficulties, mental health problems or who simply come from low income backgrounds but would love to learn to ride. “I do hope that Lucy is able to secure some funding from charitable sources to make this possible, and I greatly look forward to following the progress and development of this excellent riding school.” Quote from John Bercow MP

This island is the beating heart that inspires b-side’s work, but our projects and opportunities extend all over Dorset and beyond. We work with and commission artists who are as excited by the bigger picture as the smallest detail. Our current ‘Common Lands’ programme regards Portland as a microcosm to explore relationships to and with land. We invite artists, residents, and researchers to create unique and inventive projects inspired by the themes of ‘people’ and ‘place’. We host big discussions on topics that affect us both locally and globally and create art that exists in unusual and unexpected places. Underpinning our approach is the recognition of the need for sustainable tourism. We want everyone to be able to experience everything we love about Portland in a way that respects and benefits the island and those who live and work there. Every two years, we produce the b-side festival, which brings new, unique art to local audiences and visitors alike, sharing incredible stories about and with the Isle of Portland, as well as the rest of the world. b-side is run by a collaborative team of artists, producers and curators with experience in visual arts, live art, performance, social practice, heritage, environment and arts education. In 2012, we were awarded funding from Arts Council England to become a National Portfolio Organisation.

Network Integrity Systems Inc. (NIS) was founded in 2003 in Conover, North Carolina, USA, when optical engineers and management personnel from a global fiber optics leader were asked to address a requirement from the Department of Defense to develop an improved solution for physically protecting secure fiber optic networks in and around The Pentagon. AUDE is run by an executive committee of university directors of estates that provides strategic oversight to the organisation. They make recommendations on several of the association aspects such as subscription fees and the annual budget as well as managing the election of office holders. Members vote at the AGM to apply or amend recommendations, and elect the officers. The executive committee meets four times a year, discussing and responding to matters presented by the fellow directors (directly and through regional chairs), and by the executive director and staff team. The committee receives the executive director’s quarterly report, which contains updates from each of the topic-based working groups. The meetings are also used to discuss and act on the organisation’s financial performance throughout the year. Furthermore, the meetings provide a useful sounding board and guide to the executive director, Jane White, and the AUDE team in determining the services provided to members and projects undertaken. The team comprises of five members of staff employed on permanent contracts: Executive Director (1.0 FTE) Projects and Engagement Manager (1.0FTE) Events Manager (0.8 FTE) Communications Officer (0.5 FTE) Events and Projects Officer (0.8 FTE) AUDE is a not-for-profit organisation and receives its core funding from member institution subscriptions and training and development activities. It is sustainable, with healthy financial reserves in line with its agreed financial model.
