We offer full-time and part-time programs at our premises in Birmingham and online through ZOOM. Our alim program is comprehensive. The first two years focus on developing a strong foundation in Arabic grammar and morphology. Fiqh (jurisprudence), tafsir (Qur’anic commentary), hadith, history, and aqidah studies continue throughout. The program culminates with detailed coverage of the six canonical books of hadith. For those who have completed the alim program at our institute or have graduated from another reputable madrasah, we offer takhassus (specialization) courses in hadith and tafsir, as well as ifta (the science of giving Islamic legal rulings). Darul Ilm is actively involved in our local community, by offering short courses on a regular basis, engaging in community projects, and establishing activities for the youth. We offer alimiyah courses and other facilities for women to empower those members of our community who may otherwise not be able to acquire religious knowledge due to domestic needs and childbearing. At a global level, we work to establish links with Muslim communities across the world to develop our networks and promote unity and brotherhood. We also encourage our students to establish maktabs, institutes, and madrasahs to spread knowledge. We helped one of our students in Mexico establish the first Alim/Alimah course in the Spanish world, and also helped with a small maktab/institute in Sweden. Darul Ilm is based in Birmingham and is a registered charity. It runs with the assistance, du´as (prayers), and regular rectification of the senior teachers of Darul Uloom Bury. Clean Break uses theatre to keep the subject of women in prison on the cultural radar, helping to reveal the damage caused by the criminal justice system. Through our unique work, we raise difficult questions, inspire debate, and help to effect profound and positive change in the lives of women with experience of the criminal justice system. Since 1979, Clean Break has been the only women’s theatre company of its kind, and we continue to inspire playwrights and captivate audiences with our ground-breaking plays on the complex theme of women and criminalisation. Through theatre workshops and projects in prisons and in the community which build confidence, resilience and wellbeing, we transform the lives of women who have experienced the criminal justice system or who are at risk of entering it due to the challenges they are facing, such as mental health or drug use issues, which place them in circumstances that make interaction with the criminal justice system difficult to avoid. Our Members Programme is available to women aged 18 and above. The Programme offers a range of workshops and performance opportunities led by esteemed female theatre artists, underpinned by comprehensive support. Clean Break’s women-only identity is crucial to our rationale. The treatment of women by the criminal justice system is one of the clearest demonstrations that our society is still unequal and that women are judged by different standards to men. Our vision is of a society where women can realise their full potential, free from criminalisation, and we believe that theatre enables women to challenge their oppression by society in general and by the criminal justice system in particular.

Allwinds Dog First Aid Ltd was established in November 2018 by qualified veterinary nurse Amanda Williams, with the aim of utilising her vast veterinary nursing skills to deliver professional, accessible courses for dog parents and pet professionals alike. None of us like to think of our dogs in pain or having sustained an injury but should the worst happen, would you know how to help your canine companion? Would you know how to help a dog which was choking or had ingested a poison? We all hope to do the right thing and make the right choices for our dogs to help keep them from illness and injury but accidents do happen and usually when we least expect them. Be prepared and join us on one of our dog first aid courses. Learning even basic dog first aid skills can, in some cases, make the difference between life and death. With an extensive range of topics covered, all courses are taught by Amanda in a relaxed environment with plenty of hands-on, practical elements, allowing those taking part to leave feeling confident if faced with an emergency situation. All courses are fully compliant with The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and The Animal Welfare Act 2006. CPR skills are taught following the latest RECOVER guidelines. Allwinds is also approved by NARCH (National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists) to deliver courses to its members. Amanda herself is fully insured, DBS checked and a member of the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA). Amanda continues to routinely work with members of the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons to ensure her skills are kept fully up to date.

I specialise in working with the owners of pet dogs to improve their relationship with their dog.Many of the common obedience and behaviour problems such as pulling on the lead, refusing to come back when called, jumping up on people etc. can be cured relatively quickly with my help. I can also help dog owners overcome behaviour problems such as separation anxiety, destructive behaviour, over excitement etc. I prefer to work with the owners during the process, fully involving them in the training process which gives them a better understanding of canine behaviour and how dogs respond to human emotions and body language. A number of common behavioural issues which many pet dogs exhibit can be related back to a lack of basic obedience training. For example refusing to come back when called. What usually happens here is the owner has a few bad experiences when the dog has ran off and refused to come back so the owner decides that the dog will not be let off the lead again. The result the dog becomes frustrated due to a lack of exercise (most dogs require at least 30 minutes free running exercise a day) he returns home with loads of unused energy and looks for ways to use it up. Chewing your possessions or property, pacing up and down and whining, are all favourites. Fixation Performing Arts Academy is run by Academy Directors Laura Davitt & Carly Pryke. Fixation was founded in 2012 by Laura Davitt, who created an artistic company of trained performing arts professionals and youth workers to create opportunities for young people and adults to participate in the performing arts and develop new skills in a safe and collaborative environment. In 2014 now Academy Director Carly joined the team that Laura had created and together with over 30 years of combined teaching and performing experience, they formed what we now know as Fixation Academy of Performing Arts. Fixation Academy is a welcoming place for all to flourish, learn and grow. Our team of professionals use their extensive knowledge of the performance industry to provide quality training in disciplines acting, singing, dance, drama and musical theatre for ages 4-18 and adults. Our aim for each person that comes through our doors is to have fun, build confidence, make new friends, learn new skills and express themselves through the arts. Whether you see the performing arts as a fun hobby or potential career path, Fixation Academy is a place for students to discover and shine. We aim to give each child the skills and training necessary to turn their own dreams into a reality. At our Academy students benefit from weekly term time classes that work towards annual full-scale productions, in house shows and other public performances such as community festivals and competitions throughout the year. Our workshops have served as intense social learning sessions and therapeutic retreats to adults, and our children’s workshops have helped children express themselves and make large strides in their artistic endeavours. As reflected in our principles, all our sessions are inclusive of people with special education needs (SEN) and learning difficulties. We have helped children with SEN develop their confidence and become more involved in art. Our approach to teaching and learning is focused on using art to build a creative local community founded on principles of inclusivity. We provide a platform to showcase the work of our creatives via our Group Exhibitions - we also host and take part in national events such as The Big Draw and Lumiere London - the UK’s biggest light festival - and in local events like the Fabula Festival. We run pop-ups, co-operate with businesses alongside our workshops, and collaborate with non-profit organisations in addition to organising after school clubs with local schools. Having been in the upholstery game for thirty plus years, I have learnt to appreciate the true beauty of furniture and how it is made. In particular the more vintage styles, they are robust comfortable and built to last ; unlike a lot of the modern items on the market today. For me personally they are a lot more stylish and have a lot more character. For these reasons I am very passionate about bringing them all back to life and take great pleasure in the restoration of every single piece . I would rather take My time to do this, than see so much of it thrown away to landfill, especially when I am aware of the quality and structure of frames and know that it is just a matter of a little Tlc!. Furniture restoration is not always about a more cost effective option, so this is something that needs to be considered when choosing re-upholstery verses buying new. The whole idea is about putting your own stamp on a piece of furniture, for example , Does it have sentimental value, is it too good to part with ,how long will it last. These are all perfectly understandable questions and I can tell you that yes it sometimes will be the same cost as buying new or even more, however once you have invested in having the work done , we can reassure you that every care will be taken to provide you with the best quality service and workmanship, right from choosing your fabrics and any other finer details subject to requirement, ensuring you will be 100% happy and satisfied with the end result .
