Tuition for Fruition Tutors is a new and rapidly expanding business that provides private tuition to KS1,KS2, KS3, GCSE and A Level students with the aim of enabling its students to achieve their academic potential. Our core team is comprised of experienced and PGCE accredited professionals who above all else are passionate about teaching and strive to make a positive difference to the development of their students. In the short time that we have been operating we have managed to help a considerable amount of children and relying wholly on word of mouth recommendations we have been able to expand our operations throughout the UK and abroad. There is a social focus which underpins our work and we want to be able to reach out to those parents and children who wouldn’t traditionally have access to tuition. Managing Director/Founder Abdul-Raheem Ahmed Abdul-Raheem is an experienced teacher and examiner with 12 years of experience in education. He began tutoring during his A levels helping out students from economically deprived families and also SEN students which ignited his passion for teaching and contributing to his community and has led to him tutoring to this day. He has personally taught over 450 students during this time alongside his full time secondary teaching role. Abdul-Raheem realised that many of the more vulnerable members of society were being left behind while others were being exploited by tutoring companies. He decided to create a business that would focus on making tutoring accessible to these children by keeping costs low and quality high by ensuring all lessons are taught by qualified teachers. Furthermore coming from a working class and second generation immigrant background he understands the problems and pitfalls many of these students face. Therefore he decided not just to focus on the academic aspect but the students holistically. To that end has organised consistent and regular extra curricular activities for local members of his community. This allows him to have a pastoral role within the local community and is not just limited to students of TFF Tutors. Tackling the rising evil of drug dealing and other criminal activities is another passion of his and by taking this proactive approach he hopes to provide a focus and escape route for those who may be targeted by those nefarious elements of society. Judo, which means "gentle way" is a martial art that was born in Japan, and it is now known around the world as an Olympic sport since 1964. Judo was established in 1882 by combining jujitsu, a form of wrestling, with mental discipline. It is the most widely-practiced martial art in the world, and the second-most practiced sport worldwide behind football SCORING Ippon is the best in that it results in immediate victory and can be achieved by throwing an opponent in such a way as to make then land on their back. Alternative methods of scoring ippon include trapping an opponent in an armhold or stranglehold to the extent that it forces them to submit or immobilising an opponent on the floor for at least 20 seconds.The next best score is a Waza-ari, which is a half point in that the award of two waza-ari in a bout is the same as ippon, and hence the winner is declared. Waza-ari is awarded for lesser throws than those scoring ippon, and for immobilising the opponent for less than the time required to score Ippon. Jigoro Kano From the twelfth to the nineteenth century Japan was ruled by the samurai, a class of professional soldiers. This provided fertile ground for various martial arts to develop. In addition to fighting with swords and bows and arrows, the samurai developed jujitsu to fight enemies at close quarters on the battlefield. Several different styles of jujitsu evolved, and hand-to-hand combat spread as an important form of military training. The era of samurai rule came to an end with the Meiji Restoration of 1868, and Western culture began filtering in into Japanese society. Jujitsu fell into decline, but the enthusiasm of one young man rescued it from extinction. That man was Jigoro Kano, the founder of judo as we know it today. Kano excelled in schoolwork but had an inferiority complex about his small physique. So he became an apprentice of Yanosuke Fukuda, a master of the Tenjin Shin’yo school of jujitsu, when he was 17 and worked to become stronger. In May 1882, when he was just 21 years old, he took the best things about each jujitsu style and created a single new school. This was the birth of modern Judo.

Each student is tutored as an individual within the 75 minutes shared session. Each student is given time and space to develop their own understanding, their own confidence and resilience. Field Breaks started out in the Autumn of 2007 to provide a selection of professionally tutored illustration workshops in the Peak District. This followed the demise of similar workshops in the area and filled a much needed gap for people wanting short affordable art breaks in botanical illustration and landscape painting. Such was the demand for this provision that over the following years the programme has been extended to include a greater selection of courses and venues, along with a growing number of specialist professional tutors. 2020 and the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic saw great challenges to all small businesses, including Field Breaks, with courses rescheduled for safer times. This was an opportunity however for founder member Sue to think seriously about her achievements, goals and ambitions, and after some deliberation decided to pass the business on to fellow artist Hazel. Along with many happy memories of running Field Breaks, Sue is enjoying the opportunity to start new projects. With the handover, Hazel decided to revitalise the old website - "I'm re-dressing the shop window while it's quiet!" Following suggestions from her peers, this also gave her the opportunity to re-think and amend the name from "Field Breaks" to "Field Breaks Art", which lends more focus under the artwork umbrella. We hope you like it! After the extended lockdown, Hazel added a new range of on-line mini workshops in the Spring of 2021, which were a lovely way to keep connected with other artists and share ideas. From July 2021 we were once again able to offer in-person workshops so the focus was to deliver quality tutor-led courses while maintaining a level of safety, including reduced class numbers to enable social distancing. In 2022 we are pleased to be able to offer another full programme of workshops in drawing, painting, botanical illustration, natural history, landscape, abstract, and mixed media including textiles and craft workshops in batik, jewellery making, lacemaking and felting. Our story starts in the classroom, but unlike most CPR training companies, it doesn't end there. Our co-founder, Roy Shaw, was a classroom CPR instructor for many years before our company was born in 2003. Roy knew what he was doing was ambitious, so rather than do it on his own, he partnered with Paul Martin and Scott Andersen to help in the early years. Our new team now included a paramedic / CPR instructor, a web developer / marketer, and a graphic designer / video editor. You wouldn't be alone if CPR training makes you think of classrooms and manikins rather than a computer. And in 2003, this was even more true than today. But that didn't stop us from deciding to change everything. After all, CPR training was broken and we were determined to fix it. No more falling asleep in a 4-6 hour class. Why not learn from the comfort of your home. GROWING PAINS AND EARLY WINS Of course, there have been challenges. Nearly a third of Internet users were on dial-up in 2003 and YouTube hadn't been invented yet. But by 2007, things were beginning to change. And that's the year we launched the Internet's first fully video-based CPR course. At this point, we had certified around 80,000 students, our three founders went full-time on the business, and we hired our first two employees to support our customers and gain compliance approvals. Compliance challenges are what led us to create a blended CPR program in 2008. Although online courses are acceptable for many people, there are certain industries where hands-on skills practice is mandatory. First, we built a national instructor network to meet this need. Then, in 2014, we introduced live video conference evaluations and a low-cost SUMO manikin kit to offer our students in-home skills evaluations, making ProTrainings the most compliant (and convenient) CPR course available online. EXPANSION AND NEW VENTURES A lot has changed since the early days. Our team has grown to 35+ people across our U.S. and U.K. offices. We've certified well over a million people and counting. And our free Student CPR program has certified tens of thousands of high school students around the country. Our course catalog has also expanded beyond CPR to include courses such as Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA, Hazcom, Fire Safety, Ergonomics, Sexual Harassment, Pet First Aid, Continuing Education content, and more to come. When I sat down to formulate the concept of the company, I had a specific target in mind. My vision was to create a genuine one-stop-shop for all forms of industrial computing and control. I had seen other companies attempt to achieve this and fail, so I was determined that my new company would be successful and able to offer a comprehensive range of services from 24/7 support through to full systems design, for Management Information systems – through a full range of Validation Services and in control systems from the smallest PLC to the largest DCS. I knew from my own experience that what was needed was a company that could deliver, had the right attitude and was flexible enough to respond, whatever the customers’ requirements. It had to make the customer the primary concern, and consistently offer the same level of quality and service on all projects, from small upgrades and support contracts to major capital investments. It was from these initial concepts that ITS was formed in 1991. In the years since then a great deal of hard work and effort has been invested by all the staff of ITS.
