The Dance Shed is an exciting organisation which provides tuition in dance and performing arts in Plymouth and the surrounding area. Students can expect excellent training in a happy, positive and encouraging environment delivered by fully qualified, professionally trained dance teachers and former-performers. Our vibrant school offers a wide range of classes for students from 2 ½ years all the way up to the beautiful 'vintage' years! Classes are designed first and foremost to be fun and enjoyable with the aim to maximise every student's confidence, co-ordination, self-expression and appreciation of music within the framework of the performing arts. We also run a very busy schedule creating bespoke wedding dances, dance parties and performance workshops in Devon and Cornwall for all ages. We look forward to welcoming you to The Dance Shed soon.

Pye Tait Consulting worked right through the rigours of the 2020 Covid lockdowns and, since March 2020, successfully completed a range of critical pieces of research. We undertook a massive 6,000-completion survey of employers, an education providers survey of over 500 completions, and several other important pieces of primary and secondary research. We completed the seventh annual iteration of a survey for the Scottish Government, e-learning research for Historic England, two major commissions for the Nursing and Midwifery Council, an evaluation of leadership programmes, and much more.

The word Yoga can be translated as ‘one-ness’. Through the practice of Yoga we learn to be ‘at one’ with ourselves. The style of Yoga we teach is based on the system of Yoga taught by the Bihar School of Yoga; this is a classical Yoga system which incorporates practices from ancient and traditional sources and makes them relevant for modern living. Classes include movement & posture work, breathing techniques (pranayama), Relaxation and Meditation. It is the combination of these different elements that makes Yoga such a beneficial tool for maintaining health and well being. Our approach to Yoga incorporates the whole person. It promotes the idea of living with awareness, of being ‘present’, so that we can fully engage with life and fulfill our potential. The beauty of this system of Yoga is that it retains a vast wealth and depth of Yoga practices; there really is something for everyone!

Yoga has been a stable thread from my late teens all the way into motherhood, from cities to mountains and oceans and has always provided a doorway to local communities. Movement and rest have always been big parts of my life, enjoying both equally. As a child I loved climbing trees and getting muddy as much as snoozing in front of the fire or getting lost in a book. As an adult, not much changed other than a greater appreciation for maintaining just the right balance between the two. Motherhood has only amplified this need for ‘just the right amount’ of movement and rest which has naturally influenced and inspired my teaching.

Raven's Den Music School is a project that we have wanted to start for many years. Through the experience of countless music lessons as both teachers and students, we have noted the pitfalls which can lead to students becoming demotivated or even giving up on music entirely. We do not want to see students become discouraged by being forced to learn a style or an instrument which is not for them. We believe a student's relationship with music should be allowed to flourish organically around their interests. Raven’s Den was born out of our desire to take our years of practical knowledge and challenge ourselves to address these common issues that we know many music students encounter. Our goal is to help our students cultivate their own musical visions and ideas so that they can become the musician they wish to become. We believe everyone has their own musical story to tell, let us help you to tell yours.
