We'll enhance the evening with some history and cultural knowledge including Scandinavian eating etiquette. The meals are based on a vegetarian diet which can be adapted at home and do contain allergens (soy and sesame). A one-day workshop on sabre coaching led by Truro Fencing Club's head coach, Balázs Kurucz. This workshop will focus on how to create a competitive training environment for sabre fencers and look at exercises for individual lessons. It is suitable for coaches who are already used to giving individual lessons (minimum British Fencing Level 2 or equivalent). Balázs leads the sabre programme at Truro Fencing Club, developing fencers from as young as 6 years old through to Junior and Senior World Cup levels. He has a wealth of World level experience in sabre in Hungary, Singapore and Mexico, and joined Truro in the Autumn of 2012. Balázs has produced many top fencers including a Senior World Cup medallist and Junior World Championship Gold Medallist and many GB champions. Spaces for this workshop are available to coaches and fencers but the primary focus for the day will be to help the coaches develop. Fencers are welcome to attend to take part in any demonstration group activities and to take lessons from coaches.
