Hi! I’m Kate - mum of 2, yoga teacher, core and pelvic floor specialist. My mission is to get women feeling great in their own body, no matter what stage of life: pregnancy, postnatal, menopausal or anywhere in between. As a yoga teacher and core and pelvic floor trainer, I love blending these disciplines together as part of a holistic model of care. The breath, core and pelvic floor work together for optimal health.   Yoga increases strength and flexibility, and improves posture and balance. The breath can help restore core function - as you inhale diaphragmatically, the pelvic floor muscles naturally lengthen out and down, and poses like child’s pose can also relieve tightness.   Yoga improves the mind-body connection and decreases our fight-flight response; the pelvic floor responds best when the nervous system is balanced and we are calm. I teach friendly, relaxed classes that bring women together to enhance wellness and build a supportive community, with a strong focus on core and pelvic floor rehabilitation. The Breathe Principle™ is a 7-Step Plan to follow to help you fix your diastasis recti. It is not a 'spot fix' because assessing, treating and rehabilitating a new mum for abdominal separation needs to move away just doing tummy exercises. It needs a broader, full-body approach to get your system working and functioning in a more optimal way. Across the Federation we cater for pupils between the ages of 2 to 19 with wide ranging special educational needs including physical and medical needs, Autistic Spectrum Disorders and social communication difficulties and severe and profound learning difficulties. Both schools enjoy excellent facilities and provide high quality, individualised provision for all pupils by working closely with other professionals. We are a dance family that look out for each other and encourage our pupils to succeed with their dreams. GE is a safe and loving environment where all attendees whether young or old enjoy themselves and feel accepted regardless of background, or technique in dance. Our school is built on the ‘3Es’: ‘Equip, Encourage and Engage’ to help our pupils grow and excel in dance, as individuals, as a team, and in making a difference in the world around them. 1) Equip GE seeks to bring excellence into our teaching and quality of dance. We aim to bring in the right balance of fun, challenge and variety in the classes that we teach. Regardless of whether our pupils are with us for a term or for some years we seek to equip them with a new skill that will aid them in their journey through life. 2) Encourage Encouragement is something we love to share and grow in our pupils. It’s so easy to look at the negatives, especially in learning something new. We aim to focus on the positives before addressing the improvements or gentle corrections. At times our pupils will watch each other and learn to feedback with two encouragement points and one improvement point. In doing this they learn to build each other up and recognise each other’s individual strengths and giftings. Each dancer is unique. 3) Engage Community is something we care deeply about and we see dance as an opportunity to make a difference where we can. We give pupils opportunities to take part in fundraisers, community projects and shows to teach them that they can help others and make the world a better place. As a dance school we love to liaise with charities, churches and schools and have been involved with SU camps, school projects, fundraisers and outreaches.

Excel Women’s Centre was formed in 2013 with origins starting all the way back to 1995. Excel Women’s Centre CIC is an organisation based in Barking & Dagenham and surrounding boroughs which supports women, families, young people, carers and individuals with all issues affecting their quality of life and wellbeing. We work mainly in Barking & Dagenham, and now across a lot of East London, offering a range of dedicated services aimed to support our service users, engage and enable the community. Thus, we strive to empower individuals of all ages and ethnicities to become valued members of society. About Us Excel Women’s Centre, CIC, is community hub that has an open door policy and provides services to all women, children and families residing in the London borough of Barking & Dagenham and surrounding boroughs. The centre offer help to vulnerable women and their families to fight discrimination demand their right and increase their self-esteem and confidence within our multicultural society. Empowerment is the key focus of the organization throughout. With empowerment, more services will be provided and service users will gain the skills and encouragement they need to change their lives. By developing as an organization, service users will be able to see a range of activities materialise in the area of mentoring programs, youth projects, IT clubs, Job clubs, Parenting classes for new mothers, healthy eating sessions and many more specifically suggested by the service users. Excel Women’s centre would like all our services users of the organisation to be able to integrate into Barking and Dagenham borough as well as all around London and have the same accessibility to services that everyone else has in London. By working in partnership with service providers, voluntary and community groups, Excel Women’s Group will lead the way, by illustrating that marginalized communities can integrate into society and become part of the community at large. The group will strive to break down barriers in the area of language by holding English Language Classes and breakdown social exclusion by involving community members in various training schemes and volunteering projects which can help their future ambitions.
