To encourage on site learning in underused buildings and sites. Our aim is educate and encourage the communication of all roles involved, demystifying the construction process. We aspire to highlight to others the significance of a building's heritage, giving people an opportunity to learn the skills to be a part of restoring it. Live Site Learning CIC provides activities to people from all walks of life, providing as much knowledge and exposure to the practical elements of construction as desired. Working in collaboration with local contractors, trainers, schools, colleges, universities, professional bodies, councils and communities with options of funding. Allowing the confidence and trust to be reinstated across all professions and trades, giving opportunity for each role to be explored and understood. Providing property owners with an opportunity to use of their building and learn from its restoration over a period of time.

Manningham Mills Sports & Community Association is a charity based in Bradford. For over 150 years, we’ve been bringing people together through sports at our Scotchman Road location. We started our journey as Manningham Mills Cricket Club, a branch of the Lister Mill Sports & Social Club. Originally built in 1838, Lister Mills was once the world’s largest silk mill. Over 7,000 workers had access to our fields for football, cricket and tennis and the social club for table tennis, snooker, bowls and ballroom dancing. After the Mill’s closure in the 1990s, the site was sold to property developers. Members of the Manningham Mills team (Andrew Shepherd, Michael Kaye, Jeff Slater and Delroy Dacres) asked for support from local MP Marsha Singh. Following some investigation, Marsha Singh discovered that a Lister Mills covenant meant the fields could only be used for sports and recreation. Once the property developers were notified, they agreed to sell the fields to Manningham Mills, who secured government funding. The new trustees placed the fields in a trust, protecting their use for sports and recreation for future generations – and changed the name from Manningham Mills to Manningham Mills Sports Association. In June 2006, following a £1.3ml investment, the club reopened with a modern and accessible clubhouse, an electronic cricket scoreboard, IT suite, players’ lounge and multi-function events space. An official opening took place with Gerry Sutcliffe MP, the Sports Minister at the time. In 2008, we became a charity and updated our name to Manningham Mills Sports & Community Association. The club’s legacy continues with a new generation of sports players, including cricketer Adil Rashid, part of the England team that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Around 40% of cancers in the UK could be prevented – that’s nearly 155,000 cases every year. Eating a healthy diet, being more active each day and maintaining a healthy weight are, after not smoking, the most important ways you can reduce your cancer risk. Our work A cornerstone of our research is the Global Cancer Update Programme. It’s the world’s largest source of scientific research on cancer prevention and survival through diet, weight and physical activity. In autumn 2022, we published our review of evidence on how a woman’s risk of dying after a breast cancer diagnosis is affected by her weight, diet and physical activity. We translate the results of our research into accurate, accessible, easy-to-understand information. By funding research and delivering health information programmes – such as Living with cancer, for cancer survivors, and Eat Move Learn for children and families – we empower people to make healthier lifestyle choices. When World Cancer Research Fund was established, scientific research into the links between diet and cancer was in its infancy. Since then, our network has funded millions in cancer prevention research and awareness-raising programmes. Now all mainstream scientists accept that diet, weight and physical activity can affect our risk of cancer and people are more aware of how their lifestyle plays a role.

The NEN Trust was setup in 2008 to play the critical role of establishing an entrepreneurship ecosystem in a large number of tier 1 and 2 academic campuses across India. The goal was to enable young people on campuses to ‘do’ entrepreneurship while still on campus so that they could actively build aspiration, skills, confidence and networks which would increase their chances of starting new ventures successfully sooner rather than later upon graduation. Since its inception, NEN has worked with 500+ academic institutions including the founding institutions of its network IIT Bombay, IIM Ahmedabad, BITS Pilani, S P Jain Institute of Management and IBAB. NEN spent its initial years creating and establishing student E Cells actively running activities, competitions and start-up sessions across hundreds of campuses; trained 1500+ faculty in ‘doing experiential entrepreneurship programs’ including workshops and courses on campus; helped spur the development of 100+ entrepreneurship and innovation centres within its network institutions; and enabled 100,000s of students to get the exposure, and develop skills in entrepreneurship and venture creation. Today, NEN enables campuses and incubators to run virtual accelerated programs to maximise startup success. NEN is partnering with State startup policy makers, Govt. incubators, MHRD IICs and Innovation Labs. NEN’s program structure, tools & resources, digital content, technology platform, facilitator development and wide network of mentors is helping build healthy startups and empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs. In its journey, NEN tied up for funding with Wadhwani Foundation (https://www.wfglobal.org) for their programs in India. The Foundation is a not-for-profit with the primary mission of accelerating economic development by driving job creation in India and other emerging economies, and in the US, through large-scale initiatives in entrepreneurship, small business growth, innovation, and skilling. Wadhwani Foundation’s mission to achieve ‘job creation at scale’, the methodology, digital content and technology platform is in alliance with NEN’s goals of igniting and establishing a nationwide culture of entrepreneurship.

Southover initially emerged from Carol’s disillusionment with the mechanisms for funding special needs and her passion that each child should have a positive educational experience. At the time there were many grant maintained schools that didn’t have access to local authority services due to the method of funding by central government. The Southover Partnership aimed to ensure special educational needs provision could be met. The service began by offering a select group of students support in school and some at-home tuition. It swiftly extended to providing full-time education to these students. Carol expanded Southover’s services and recruited the highest calibre staff to assist in schools as well as at home. Carol’s outstanding reputation in the education sector put her in demand to provide training and consultancy for SENCOs and schools. So great were the requests for Southover’s servicesprovisions that Carol formed her own school for children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties and autism. The Southover Partnership school was officially recognised by the Department for Children, Schools and Families in August 2007, with the first inspection taking place in June 2008. This was a huge achievement for Carol, and a real adventure, as prior to this point much of the education for children out of school was provided by local authorities. Cartwheel Arts promotes social inclusion, cohesion, diversity and regeneration through community participation in vibrant, innovative, high-quality arts projects. We use a wide range of media to initiate, and respond to, project opportunities in Rochdale, Oldham, Bury, Wigan and North Manchester, as well as promoting the development of the arts and examples of good practice across the North West. Cartwheel has over 35 years experience of promoting imaginative, and often challenging arts projects - we do not shy from confronting difficult or sensitive issues. Our focus is on participation, enabling people who may have had little experience of the arts to explore and develop their creativity and talents, generating a sense of ownership and pride. We currently receive contributions to our core funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and Greater Manchester Combined Authority. In addition we receive funds for projects from a wide variety of sources, mainly charitable trusts, but also local authorities, the NHS and other government departments.

Eureka Online College is an organisation made up of teachers who work together to provide subject knowledge enhancement (SKE) courses for aspiring teachers. SKE courses are funded by the government and are designed for pre-ITT students to gain the depth of knowledge needed to train to teach their chosen subject. Eureka began delivering SKE courses in 2012, which was until recently funded by DfE via grant funding to schools and universities. Through our succussful model of combining on-demand content, online course tutor support and live one to one lessons we have grown year on year and have become a household name amoungst ITT providers nationally. We pride ourselves on the bespoke service we give to our students and as an organisation, we are service driven. From 2021, SKE is now delivered via contract with DfE and we operate through 2 main regional partners (please see link on 'how to apply) who complete complete the financial governance, manage student bursaries and attend steering groups with DfE, leaving us to do what we do best, which is to deliver SKE courses to our trainees.

AstroCymru is passionate to raise pupil attainment levels by promoting the many different careers in the space industry from astronauts to various space scientists and engineers through various hands on workshops. Funded by the Welsh Government in 2013 AstroCymru started as project set up by Dr Paul Roche and Emma Wride as part of an outreach arm of the Astronomy Dept. at the University of S. Wales, delivering astronomy related workshops to schools across Wales. Further funding in 2015 allowed the project to expand and become part of the Physics and Astronomy Dept. at Cardiff University. Since 2018 AstroCymru has been a commercial company, continuing to deliver exciting and inspirational STEAM educational programmes to primary and secondary schools, festivals and public events.
