Hi, I’m Caroline and I’m here to help any dogs and their families out there, with any issue’s they may have. I use force-free, ethical, kind and positive reinforcement methods only. I have three dogs: George, an Old Tyme Dorset Bulldog who’s 9 and a half now, who we’ve had since he was 8 weeks old; Milly, our rescue Spaniel who is an ex-puppy farm dog; and Lexi, our rescue French Bulldog, who is an ex-breeding dog. Not forgetting our little Timmy, a rescue King Charles Cavalier, who unfortunately passed away last year. He too was an ex-puppy farm dog.

EuCAN is a Community Interest Company (CIC) working in the UK and other countries of Europe to involve more people and communities in the conservation management of their local environment, by providing training and practical experience for young graduates, potential volunteers and therapeutic groups, in nature conservation and in sustainable land management and food production enterprises. EuCAN CIC started life in 2007 as the European Conservation Action Network, a project linked to The Kingcombe Centre in west Dorset, and funded entirely by the Leonardo da Vinci strand of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme. Since 2007, The European Conservation Action Network has set up 23 different two-week placements and enabled nearly 300 volunteers to visit 11 partner organisations in the EU. In 2011, when The Kingcombe Trust was wound up, EuCAN became established as an independent Community Interest Company through which, in addition to promoting placements with our other EU partners, we have organised several conservation projects in Dorset and Somerset, are undertaking an increasing number of habitat management contracts using professionals and trainees working together, and have run training courses each year in botanical and lepidoptera identification and ecology, bumblebee conservation and id and other subjects. The CIC now acts as a hub for the wide network of volunteers, organisations and other contacts that EuCAN has cultivated since 2007. My path as a therapist started in 1983 after qualifying as a yoga teacher and continued regular teaching until 2018. I went to India in 1983 for a month of intensive training at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram in Kerala, India. I stayed there to gain teaching experience for a while. I travelled in India for 5 months. I found the Indian science of life, and the Hindu philosophy very interesting, and helpful. In 1982 I became interested in Shiatsu, and started training at the British School of Shiatsu for 3 years from 1986 – 1989, and in 1990 qualified as a teacher. In 1993 I moved back to Dorset to set up as a full time therapist. I completed my Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming training in 2003. I enjoy walking, especially on the Purbecks, or anywhere in the countryside or beach and all types of music and, socialising. I believe it is important to take care of ourselves, in the most natural way possible. It is this that can be difficult for some people and where I draw upon the skills I have to create that life balance - to be healthy and happy.

ello, I’m Nina Squire and I’m an artist and art tutor. In normal times I have a travelling studio – an easel, a set of soft pastels and a flask of coffee and I’m happy! When I can, I love to take part in shows and events where I enjoy the chance to meet and chat to people whilst I draw. However, since March 2020, and with my regular events and shows canceled, like many others I’ve starting teaching online. Whilst I trained as a professional artist and illustrator at Falmouth University over 25 years ago, I’m mainly self taught. Most of my work is done in soft pastels, and my passion for the countryside and animals has brought me a long line of horse and dog commissions in this medium. My works can be seen in many homes and offices, not only locally in Dorset, the South West and London but also as far away as the USA and Japan. My loyal customers have been the inspiration for developing several strands to my work. Many of my clients have returned over the years, drawing their first dog, their first home, their first pony or their family portraits as the years pass, or capturing places that are special to them, perhaps their favourite holiday views and their treasured memories. I’m perhaps best known for portraits of people’s pets but, whatever the subject, for me it’s all about capturing a personality, or an essence, and creating something that looks real. With everything I paint I want the viewer to feel they can walk in to the picture – or perhaps my subject might be just about to jump out into the real world!

Welcome to Emma Leonard Handcrafted Jewellery. I am a designer / maker based near the seaside in Poole, Dorset. I make jewellery inspired by mid-century fabric prints and patterns and the shapes you find in cityscape architecture. I like to imagine my work as tiny sculptures, adding pops of colour with hand-painted lacquers. I love seeing the angles where a stack of bangles cross and layer, or the contrast between polished silver and a flash of colour. Mainly I like making jewellery that makes people happy when they wear it. Yeovil College has been serving the community in and around Yeovil for more than 130 years. The College was first formed in 1887 when Somerset County Council began formally organising Science and Art classes in Yeovil. In 1947, the first Principal was appointed to lead Yeovil Technical College and when secondary education in the Yeovil Borough was reorganised in 1974, Yeovil College became one of the early tertiary colleges to be formed in England. Today, Yeovil College remains passionate about its role as a key provider of education and training in South Somerset and North and West Dorset. It remains committed to its role as a tertiary college for the whole community and currently supports around 5000 full and part-time students.
