For over 65 years we have been making our students and pupils feel welcome, safe and part of a community. Nothing is more important to us than the education and wellbeing of our pupils, who join us in Year 7 from over 40 primary schools and across a wide geographical area. Life at Longcroft is busy and creative, with a learning environment that offers structure, safety, enjoyment, challenges and high expectations. These many and varied experiences broaden the horizon for students and pupils. Our young people form a friendly, enthusiastic and caring school community. Lifelong friendships and strong bonds are formed from the start of adolescence, through to the beginning of adulthood in our successful Sixth Form. No matter where they come from, all our students and pupils can find a strong and inclusive community at Longcroft, which will set them in good stead for the rest of their lives.

Design and Technology at Bankfields Primary School is essentially a practical subject that allows children to think imaginatively and creatively.The school has two buildings known as the East Building and the West Building. The main office and the Headteacher’s office are located in the West Building. The Reception, Y1, Y2, Y3 and Year 4 children are based in the West Building. The Y5 and Y6 team plus the Nursery are based in the East Building. The school is organised into four teams – Mrs C Ward Foundation Stage (EYFS and KS1 lead) Mr P Bennett Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4) Mrs K Lee Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6) Each team is led by a senior member of staff. Children in every team benefit from the extra support provided by teaching assistants. There is a high level of staffing in the Early Years team to ensure the particular needs of the younger pupils are fully met. On entry to school each child is placed in a mixed ability class in the care of a class teacher. The class teacher is responsible for the learning and pastoral care of the children in his/her class. If you wish to talk about any aspect of your child’s development, the class teacher is usually the first point of contact.

ello, my name is Hannan Mohammed; I am the Head of School and Acting Headteacher at Carfield Primary School. It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Carfield Primary School Website. Our website contains information about our wonderful school and will keep you up to date with events and activities taking place. Carfield Primary School is a super place for children to learn and we have a dedicated team of staff who put the children at the centre of all their efforts. Carfield is a successful school but we are always looking for ways to improve. We treat each child as an individual and try our best to ensure they enjoy learning and coming to school. Our expectations of both children’s learning and behaviour are high at all times and all our pupils are actively supported to believe they can be successful and achieve. We hope parents will be partners in their child’s learning. We have a thriving PTA that we call Carfield Friends. They organise a wide variety of activities and fundraising events. We are very proud of the sporting culture that we have developed over recent years. We have participated in many events and competitions. Children enjoy many other activities including a choir, quiet club, computing club and yoga!

Having previously worked for many years as a teacher and leader, I have been supporting educators to address their identified needs and facilitate CPD experiences since 2002. This has involved working alongside schools at whole school, departmental and individual level both in the UK and abroad. I have worked with a wide range of organisations on a variety of issues that affect secondary and primary education, not only in science but whole school and in the wider education context. In my previous role as the Co-Head of National Science Learning Centre Programme I co-led a large team who created and facilitated CPD to science educators throughout the UK. Both Ofsted and other external evaluators have cited the positive and long-term impact of these CPD experiences.

Welcome to my website! I’m a level 3 matwork Pilates instructor and a British Wheel of Yoga trained Yoga teacher, as well as being a member of REPS. I’ve been teaching for over ten years; here you can find more about me, and here you can read more about the benefits of hatha yoga and pilates. A year and a half ago I moved to Sheffield and have since been steadily building up a range of group classes which are available on a drop-in basis to anybody who would like to come. These community classes are affordably priced with a concessionary rate available for students, job seekers and pensioners. Please see my current timetable for locations and details of these classes. I also offer individual (1-1 or 1-2) yoga and pilates sessions in Nethergreen, S11, for people who prefer more specialist attention. Dixons City Academy opened in September 1990 as one of 15 city technology colleges. Our original mission was to become a centre of excellence for the whole city of Bradford and we have worked hard to secure a national reputation for learning enhanced by technology. Student attainment has always been high and we are proud of our long history of excellent GCSE and A Level results and also the value that is added to our children from starting point. For over 30 years, the academy has continued to take its role in the community very seriously and is proud to be the founding member of the Dixons Academies Trust, which currently has 12 schools in Bradford and Leeds. We have a healthy respect for our proud history and have learnt so much from our many years of independence. Whilst we now work with a multi-academy Trust, the education of our children comes first and we will always do what is right for them.
