Greenbank College is part of Greenbank, a Liverpool-based registered charity that was established in 1983 with a vision to transform lives, and a mission to support individuals to reach their potential through inclusive education, sport and leisure activities. Many of our students have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) or are from other disadvantaged groups. We also support adults who need to gain valuable work skills to enable them to get into employment. As the college is small, offering places to approximately 300 students every year, we are able to develop a close relationship with all our students. This means we can ensure that every individual has the best possible chance of achieving and progressing into employment, further study or volunteering.

Centre of Inclusive Care is an endeavor to create and work towards a more inclusive society. The Centre has a multidisciplinary team of professionals who believe passionately about working collaboratively. Aysha S. Jamall the Chief Care Officer of the Centre and Co-Founder believes in a systemic approach to intervention. The Centre caters to Psycho Social needs by understanding its clients’ individual and collective situation and their personal challenges.

I am originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, I studied, graduated and worked in education in London then moved to South Queensferry to bring up family over 30 years ago. I am a passionate advocate for inclusive education and supporting self determination for adults with disabilities. I have over 30 years experience in adult education and third sector organisations. Pioneering projects I have managed include the award winning Pathways Project, making a significant contribution to the Senior Phase of Curriculum for Excellence and since 2013 developing get2gether. My interest in being part of the Hub Board of Trustees is to widen access. I would like to see more local people with disabilities and other long term conditions feeling that this is a welcoming centre of well being catering for them.

Our staff have lived experience and this informs the support we offer. We are an organisation of Disabled people working together to enable choice. We challenge the barriers to independent living through the delivery of high-quality support and advice. Provide a service for all Disabled people, whatever their background or needs; Lead in best practice for the delivery and development of services that support Independent Living; Deliver value for members, funders and service users by providing services that make a difference to people’s lives; Challenge barriers to Independent Living wherever we encounter them; Include the views and opinions of all our service users in everything we do; Be seen as the first place to go by anyone looking for support for Independent Living

I am incredibly proud to have led the creation of TEAM Education Trust working with like-minded colleagues who have shared ambition for the future success of the children in our classrooms. Through principles of co-design and centring the voices and lived experiences of disabled and neurodivergent researchers, we develop and implement interventions including training to challenge ableist and neurotypical working practices. Our work is rooted in the social model of disability and as such, we aim to change working environments to be more inclusive and accessible.
