Our Student Travel & Welfare offering started in 2015, providing UK-wide travel solutions initially to Guardianship companies via our fully-vetted and constantly monitored network of transport providers. The Cheltenham Independent Schools group, comprising Cheltenham College, Cheltenham Ladies’ College and Dean Close, became our first school clients four years ago. Since then we have provided solutions for multiple schools. The issues we solve for schools include; providing Sponsored Student and safeguarding-compliant travel solutions; hiring managing and training staff that are deployed on set travel days throughout the year; staffing London Heathrow across multiple terminals from 04:45 to the last flights on all school designated travel days; establishing and policing protocols that are designed for each school as a result of comprehensive risk assessment. Everything we do is designed to provide support and comfort to parents and schools relating to travelling students. We strive to do this at a cost that is both reasonable and transparent. Our vision is a world with no borders or incarceration. Our purpose: SOAS Detainee Support attempts to break the isolation of immigration detention, and supports people to take control of their cases and resist their imprisonment and deportation. SOAS Detainee Support visits people who are being held in Harmondsworth and Colnbrook (Heathrow), Brook House and Tinsley House (Gatwick), and Yarl’s Wood Immigration Removal Centres. We also visit people who are held in London prisons under immigration powers. We work in solidarity rather than charity, and try to meet people in detention on their own terms and without preconceived notions about their situation or desires. Visiting is central to who we are as a group. The nature of the visits we provide depends on the specific needs, desires and circumstances of the person in detention. We offer emotional support and practical support that could include help with finding a solicitor or medical expert, bringing toiletries and other essential items, and campaigning alongside people in detention. We do not offer legal advice.

If you have ever boarded a plane, after taking your seat and stowing your bag, you’ve probably looked towards the front of the plane and caught a glimpse of what was going on in the cockpit. To most of us, the cockpits of familiar planes like the Boeing 737 are places of some mystery and not a little glamour, full of a dazzling array of glinting switches and dials, urgent conversations over radios, and stylish uniforms. There can be few airline passengers that haven’t wondered, at least in passing, what it might be like to don the captain’s hat, take up their position in the pilot’s seat, and grab the controls on one of those classic routes through the skies, say from London Heathrow to Paris Charles de Gaulle or Amsterdam Schiphol. But let’s face it, for most of us, unless we have several spare years to devote to training (not to mention a natural aptitude for such things), the nearest we’ll ever get to flying a plane is to play on a simulator game, a fun but essentially unconvincing experience on our laptop or games console.

ABOUT WAVERLEY EQUESTRIAN TRAINING CENTRE Originally founded in the grounds of Stoneleigh Abbey WEC moved firstly to Cubbington, near Leamington Spa, and is now based at The 3B's (Bubbenhall Bridge Barn).   We are very proud of the large selection of stunning horses who form part of The 3Bs family.   They are trained in a variety of equestrian disciplines including Cross-country jumping, Cavalry Drills, Eventing Clinics, Team Chases, Hunter Trials, Trekking and Riding to Hounds.  Polo lessons, chukkas and tournaments are available at the nearby Offchurch Bury Polo club and also we can organise outings to Knights of Middle England for instruction in riding Side-saddle, jousting, horse archery and trick riding.   We can tailor our events to suit the needs of our clients, however our horses are not suitable for beginner riders or children under 12. The 3Bs is approximately two hours from Gatwick Airport, one hour and 20 minutes from Heathrow and only half an hour from Birmingham International Airport.  Trains  from London Euston to Coventry, or from Marylebone to Leamington Spa, take just over an hour.   We are happy to meet our guests from either station and from Birmingham Airport. Our Accommodation is all en-suite with family-style dining and a congenial atmosphere with just a hint of magic! For the non-riders, or non-riding hours, we are a short distance from Stratford-upon-Avon, the castles of Warwick and Kenilworth, and there are no less than 5 excellent golf-courses within 10 minutes from the barn. Michael and Diana Jack, Waverley's proprietors, have a tennis court, swimming pool and croquet lawn at their nearby home in the grounds of Stoneleigh Abbey and often invite their guests to join them for an afternoon or evening of activities in their lovely garden. Waverley has its own breeding programme and regularly has young foals and young horses needing attention.
