Our Development, Training and Support offer is designed to provide essential advice and guidance to enable your church school to flourish. This includes a range of briefings, network meetings and training courses, all of which are either free or offered at significant discount to schools who are signed up to our Service Level Agreement (S4S). In addition, schools who have signed up for Governance+ are able to access all our governor training for no additional charge. Living Your Vision This is the heart of our training and support offer covering the essentials needed to develop a flourishing church school. This work to support developing your school’s Christian vision and ethos includes training for SIAMS self-evaluation and other aspects of SIAMS readiness. It also covers a series of networks and training events to develop and enhance collective worship and spirituality (including Space Makers). HeadSpace This is where you will find our support and training offer for school leaders including our series of briefings (free to schools signed up to S4S) and conferences for our headteachers across the Diocese. Termly virtual briefing sessions will provide an opportunity to hear the latest news and information from the ODBE team including updates from the Church of England Education Office, up to date learning from ongoing SIAMS and Ofsted inspections and upcoming development opportunities. A virtual mini conference and an in-person summer conference provide additional opportunities for school leaders to consider specific aspects of church school leadership – our Autumn conference will look in depth at SIAMS and its impact on school improvement. RE Central Comprises all our development, training and support for the leadership and delivery of high quality RE in schools. This includes half termly networks for RE leaders (free to schools signed up to S4S), the Developmental Thinking conference and training for Early Career Teachers. Governance This is our governance training offer which covers the key aspects of effective governance including induction, SIAMS, RE and Collective Worship, effective monitoring and evaluation, appraisal, induction and academisation. Schools signed up to S4S, our service level agreement, are also able to buy Governance+ which enables all governors to attend our governor training at no additional cost. Hi, I'm Beth. I’m a Speech and Language Therapist from Essex, UK. I'm a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, from the UK, with extensive experience working with children with speech, language and communication needs in a range of settings including schools, preschools and clinics. I'm mum to two primary school-aged children, one of whom has special needs. EU1A9034-2.jpg eu1a9097.jpg I set up my own clinical service provision in 2011 and have since then built up a successful practice, with my own clinic where I see private patients. I also provide a regular service to a number of schools in my local geographical area. I have a master’s degree in Health and Human Sciences (MSc), qualifying as a Speech & Language Therapist in 2009. My undergraduate degree (BA Hons) is in Linguistics and Spanish. I’m registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, the Health and Care Professionals Council and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP). I have been the chair of my local ASLTIP group for a number of years, organising regular meetings and suporting a large group of 18 members covering a range of clinical specialisms. I’ve worked with lots of practitioners and staff in schools and preschools throughout my career and I've provided a lot of information, advice, training and support for a variety of Speech and Language topics. As well as training education staff, I also deliver seminars as a guest lecturer to Speech and Language Therapy Students at the University of Essex. These cover a range of topics, including service provision, speech sounds, stammering, vocabulary and word finding, assessment and intervention. I’ve delivered a huge number of training sessions, created by me, on a range of SLCN topics to staff working in schools and preschools. Our business was founded in July 2011 and offers skills based training to gain on site experience increasing knowledge to progress into industry, regenerating some of the 380,000 empty spaces and empty shops across the United Kingdom. Our business offers industry placements, mentoring, advice and guidance. Up skilling the next generation of young people to help close the increasing skills gap. Our team offers a number of opportunities through industry placements on our TV programme Transforming Spaces‘ Design Factor’ featured on BBC. Since launch 8,500 young people directly up skilled of which 70% have progressed onto training, employment or Starting Up. Our construction sites are 50/50 gender split and our teams have re-generated 16 empty spaces, empty homes, heritage buildings and worked on Wales largest road scheme a £400 million programme. REAL ISSUES * Nearly 1 million young people unemployed * Over 380,000 empty spaces & empty shops in the UK * 
Over 220 million tons of waste generated for Landfill * Only 3% of women in manual trades, 5% in engineering and only 2% of female owned businesses in Wales Transforming Spaces: Design Factor Our construction projects transforms empty and unused spaces through working with the community on the planning, design and build. Working with build experts and volunteers from the community it acts like DIY SOS/60 minute makeover. The aim is to up skill young people and members of the community to gain on site experience. If you have an empty space or empty building our team will work with you on the planning, design and rebuild of the space to turn it into a thriving community provision. Training on the site includes: planning, construction, managing budgets, Marketing, enterprise, business and managing the whole project. Our team and the experts will work on site for around one week to re-build the space and encourage volunteers to become involved and progress into training, employment or Starting Up. Helping people to gain vital industry experience to progress their career. The whole process is filmed and broadcast. Our build projects have included Wales First Garden City Café, The Hope Centre-Newport, Blaenau Gwent Community Hub-Waundeg, Empty Shops Project-Cardiff & Newport, State of the Art Cinema Room using Recycled Pallets- Cwmbran Centre for Young People, Penygraig Empty Shop, Newport Heritage Building. She is also experienced in covering other sports events – rugby, football, horse jumping; public fetes, concerts, and NHS patient transfers. For several years during the 80’s Angela was a volunteer manager for the Red Cross Therapeutic Care Service, responsible for a team of volunteers working in hospitals and centres across the region, fitting this in with her other work. For 3 years Angela worked as a school nurse at a large senior school in Norwich, during this time she was invited to become a part-time First Aid and Child Carers Tutor at City College Norwich. During her time there gaining qualifications in management, marketing and a degree in education. Angela then became full-time Commercial Training Manager for Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex Red Cross. As well as organising a big team of Trainers part of her role was acting as an NVQ Internal Verifier and training Trainers.
