Some stones might not be suitable due to size or shape, so please be aware if you do bring along your own stones, it might not be suitable for the setting technique but we will advise you on the day. Stones shouldn’t be smaller than 8-10mm for those new to setting as they can be hard to work with and is it harder to see the processes involved in setting. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Also pack your own lunch, snacks and drinks for the session. We regret we can’t offer tea and coffee at the moment due to Coronavirus so make sure you bring enough refreshments and supplies to keep you going during the day. This one day silver bangle making course lead by jeweller Kirsten Hendrich will introduce you skills and techniques required to design and make your own silver sterling bangles. You will learn how to size bangles, how to solder, texture the metal, cut out a charm, and also polish your designs. You will be provided with all the silver required to make two stacking bangles and a charm to accompany them. This is an excellent starting project for a beginner. For those with more experience, it is an opportunity to develop your skills further. WHAT TO BRING: For safety reasons, at each session closed in shoes must be worn and long hair tied back, we also suggest wearing old clothes.
