Leona Creator of Artists Resource & Lead Facilitator Leona created Artists Resource in 2011 with the Mission “To bring people together, to nurture Creativity and facilitate Transformation – for the benefit of the individual and the community.” She started with one small Art club in North London and in just a couple of years had grown to teaching in Schools every day and hosting Art Parties and Classes at the weekend. In 2018-19, Leona has provided Art workshops for the England football team and BAFTA. Leona has a strong background in material processes and techniques, having a degree in Applied Arts and applying that throughout her career. Prior to setting up Artists Resource, Leona worked for a Art & Craft company, managing concession stands in Harrods, Hamleys and UK Trade Fairs and made Mosaic Murals for School Playgrounds with a local Artist. She also worked on the Art Dept for various independent short and feature films. Leona has specialised in Sculpture and Mosaic Art has her own Public Artworks in Mile End (E3), Muswell Hill (N10) and in various public and private sites in London. At EarthCraftuk we have over 12 years experience delivering a variety of nature based programmes including: Forest School Leader Training, Woodland Skills Continued Professional Development Workshops, school visits, youth accredited engagement programmes and experiential Forest School programmes; witnessing first-hand the transformational effects experiences in the natural world can have on the physical and mental health and wellbeing of all participants, and the fulfilling career paths it can often open up for adult participants. At a time when we on average spend 90% of our time indoors, our work at Earthcraftuk is driven by the evidenced impact of being in nature. Green spaces promote physical activity, social interaction, exposure to sunlight and reduced pollution, which all boost health in various ways, including reduced levels of stress and anxiety, aided sleep and a feeling of connectedness with the world, and one another. We have trained over 400 participants on Forest School qualification programmes; worked with a number of community groups; supported school and youth experiential and accredited programmes and also developed a Campfire Management Award for Kent County Council and now also working with Veterans on our Health & Wellbeing programme called Veteran Trees We are very grateful to use stunning private woodland owned by the Dawes family of Mount Ephraim Gardens – a philanthropic family who support our mission.

In 2001, when my daughter was five months old, I decided to join a local Yoga class to ‘get back in shape’ and to have a little ‘me’ time in a busy week. I was instantly hooked and as I began to reap some of yoga’s immeasurable rewards, an interest quickly blossomed into a new way of life. The fantastic teacher I had found taught the Iyengar Yoga method. Wanting a greater understanding of this method and having developed a passion to teach, I completed a highly rewarding two year teacher training program at the Manchester and District Institute of Iyengar Yoga. I qualified as an Introductory Level 2 teacher - 2010 and left my career of 27 years as a Design separation artist to teach full time; I never looked back. My training continued and in 2015 I gained my Intermediate Junior Level 1 teacher certificate. In 2018 I also gained my Introductory Junior Level 2 teachers certificate. My own professional development and training is on-going and I attend weekly teachers classes and regular further training workshops. I’m honoured and constantly inspired to have learnt from various wonderful senior teachers and visiting teachers from B.K.S. Iyengar's Ramamani Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India. Following a military career, an MBA and a brief stint in banking, he joined Numicon Ltd, a maths education business as Chief Executive in 2008. Rapid growth led to sale to Oxford University Press in 2010. Having enabled a successful transition of the business into OUP, he launched National Numeracy as founding Chief Executive in 2012, building the organisation from little more than an idea to become a well-respected national charity with strong evidence of impact.
