Benefits of Polyfoam XPS insulation When you specify and install XPS insulation, you’re working with a material that is unique among widely-available thermal insulation materials for its tolerance of damp or wet environments. That means it can be installed external to below ground structures, and below ground floor slabs, with no detriment to the performance of the product over the life of the building. Who we are Sheffield Young Carers (SYC) is a registered charity which has been running since 1997. What we do We offer support to children and young people aged 8-25 who live in Sheffield are young carers. Being a young carer means they provide care for one or more family members who have disabilities, long-term physical illnesses, and/or mental health difficulties. They may be providing physical, personal, financial and/or emotional care. We also offer support to children and young people aged 8-25 who live in Sheffield and are affected by drug and alcohol issues in their family (now or in the past). “ It’s nice - I’ve made some friends who are in the same situation as me. — SYC member We provide support through one-to-one work, group support, trips, holidays, and support with education, employment, and training. We can work with young carers’ families, with the aim of reducing the caring that the young person is taking on and improving life for the whole family. We also work with organisations across the city to make sure that additional support is available to young carers and young people affected by familial substance misuse. If you would like to refer a young person to our service, please talk to them about the services we provide. With their consent, you can then refer them to our service. My own shift was a long time coming. My problem was I enjoyed my job but struggled to get my energy and delivery of a big role in a marketing agency in good balance. I longed for the ability to focus on those things I was great at – and be honest with myself about those things others were better placed to do. Within this, developing as a leader took time – and with the help of coaching I was able to sort through my areas of strength and weakness so that I could lead my team in a way that was right for me. I learnt that there’s no off-the-shelf way to lead, you have to uncover it yourself - and I realised doing this was a missing step for many people and businesses. For me, the impact of doing this meant I discovered my motivations and drivers and what it was that I brought to the role and business that no one else could. I was able to package this up and implement my own style. I developed a conviction I hadn’t previously had, and was able to live a new, more confident style. It took time. It took energy. But I was proud of the shift and the impact it had. Over time, this led me to become fascinated by how I could help other people define their goals and make those shifts important to them.

Community Youth London (CYL) is an independent music and media charity which manages a variety of community-based services and initiatives, the majority of which are youth-oriented and led. CYL has developed many approaches with the aim of overcoming barriers to access so-called ‘hard to reach’ groups using targeted youth support programmes, marketing campaigns, outreach and alternative activities. These expertise’s have been successfully applied to our services and proven effective in attracting young people who have traditionally shied away from other initiatives. As an alternative measure to historical behaviour orders and restorative justice programs, CYL has delivered a range of one to one plus group programs that have been proven to not only help young people leave but also to stay away from a life of crime. Since inception, CYL has grown from a vision to a reputable charity with an impressive track record and a growing database of over 47,000+ young people who work in London and the UK. I have been working with autistic children and teenagers for 20 years. I started my teaching career in Further Education, and have worked in the Supported Learning Department of 2 large Mainstream Colleges teaching Numeracy, Literacy, Life Skills, and Childcare. I also worked as the Life Skills Coordinator at a residential college for young people with severe physical disabilities. My passion has always been working with autistic young people - I believe that they have so much to offer, and yet the education system often fails them because staff do not have the right skills and experience. This is something I am passionate about changing! I am an experienced trainer and really enjoy training others. I have a degree in Psychology, a Post Graduate Certificate in Special Education (Autism) a PCGE in Life Long Learning and hold NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship). I am also a Surrey Autism Champion and have a NOCN Level 3 Certificate in Working with Students with ADHD and a Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I am also trained to use 3Di diagnostic programming which enables me to carry out assessments for possible ASC and ADHD. Laura is an advisor to PDA North America and provides support, advice and training to families all over the world. Laura is also the founder of Healthy Happy Me! providing support to children to help them maintain happy bodies and healthy minds.

Welcome to the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN). Our aim is to carry out high quality research into the function of the nervous system in health and disease. We have a multidisciplinary workforce of close to 500 people, mostly based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, but also spread across the University. We are an integrated part of the broader neuroscience community across Oxford, with many links to other departments. Many of our scientists are also practising clinicians and provide general and specialist care through the Oxford University Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust. Through our DPhil programme, and our very strong group of early career researchers we play an important role in developing the careers of young scientists. NDCN builds on a long history of research in neurology, brain imaging, eye disorders, and anaesthetics in Oxford which has made major contributions to our understanding of how the brain works and to the development of treatments which have changed lives. Major discoveries made by NDCN scientists include the discovery of a type of cell in the eye which helps regulate our body clock, new techniques to image the human brain, devices to make anaesthesia safer, methods to prevent vascular diseases of the brain including stroke and forms of dementia, understanding and treating chronic pain, pioneering treatments such as gene therapy for inherited eye disorders, and the diagnosis and treatment of immunological disorders of the nervous system.
