Socially Oxford - Beth Kirk

If you are looking for support with your digital marketing, then let me give you a willing hand. Having left a corporate career in order to work flexibly around my family, my aim is to provide business owners and organisations with a clear and straightforward strategic path to follow through what can be a very overwhelming digital world. You might be very unsure of how to approach organic social media, or wondering if starting an email marketing list is the right thing to do. You might be frustrated by the lack of engagement your social media gets, the time it takes to execute or, (this is a common one), feel that your competitors are doing it much better than you. To help you I have several service packages available to suit a wide range of budgets. These range from a basic no-nonsense audit which gives you honest feedback on what you are currently doing, a power hour to go in-depth on some specific issues, or provision of a full strategic multi-platform approach for your social media marketing. Or perhaps I can assist you with a training need? You may have someone (or a number of people) in your organisation that need to upskill in social media marketing in order to feel more confident about executing it themselves. Training others to master social is my passion and you can read some of my many training recommendations from my work as a Social Media Marketing Coach at the award-winning Oxfordshire based TechPixies here. I’ve invested in my training After spending 18 years in the more traditional sales and marketing roles, I knew it was important to invest in my own development and digital learning. In 2017 I completed the 6 month Digital Mums Strategic Marketing Diploma working alongside The Food Ethics Council, and I am trained by leading expert Emma Van Heusen in Facebook Advertising.

Who are PLS Tutors? We're a maths tuition firm looking to change the way in which tuition is done by making it much more personal and giving students all of the tools they need, all of the time. Our aim is to provide high quality, competent tuition that stimulates students and encourages them to reach their full potential. Our Philosophy Tuition in general is far too orientated around learning in the actual sessions, and students are often left wondering how to revise and where to get started when the session ends. But at PLS we believe students should have all the tools they need 24/7. That's why at PLS we aim to create a much more personal learning experience outside of our sessions too. Our Solution We created the PLS Learning Community. Suppose you're revising and you come across a challenging question. You don't know where to start. You spend lots of time searching the web for tutorials and pointers, but none of them are very effective. You then realise you're part of the 'PLS Learning Community'. You screenshot the question you're stuck on and send it into the Community Discord. One of our professional tutors responds, guaranteed, within four hours with a pointer on how to tackle the question and even an in-depth solution to see how the question should be tackled. You now don't have to endlessly search the web for answers. You now don't have to wait until your next maths lessons in a few days time to ask your teacher for help. That is how learning should be. All the tools you need at your disposal. All of the time. What We Offer Competent tuition both online and in-person from DBS checked tutors. An inclusive, high value community where students have all the tools they need at their disposal 24/7. High quality revision resources such as question packs and challenge papers that contain not only detailed handwritten worked solutions but also in-depth video walkthroughs to every question.

Stockton Sixth Form College

Stockton-on-Tees

Stockton Sixth Form College has built an exceptional reputation for academic achievement over many years and, as the only specialist sixth form college in Stockton on Tees, has over 40 years’ experience delivering A-level, BTEC and GCSE qualifications to students aged 16-19 from across the region. In 2016, we became the first sixth form college in 18 years to merge, when we formalised our working partnership with Prior Pursglove College. The merger helped safeguard sixth form college education in each respective borough and now enables us to move forward in a strong position to fulfil our vision of offering high quality education across a wide range of courses in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Ofsted judged Stockton Sixth Form to be a ‘Good’ college across all areas in its latest report, noting “high success rates across all levels of study” and “very effective support for students”. Inspectors commented on “lively and dynamic” learning facilitated by staff who “motivate students strongly to complete high quality work to fulfil their potential”. You can read the full report here. The college has a vibrant, diverse and friendly environment with around 600 students. We are committed to providing inspirational teaching led by staff who are specialists in their field. The small and inclusive nature of the college enables us to keep class sizes to a minimum – an average of 15 students per lesson – ensuring each student is given the individual support needed to excel. It is our focus on developing students into all-round individuals that enables students to secure their next step successfully. Ofsted recognised that the college “prepares students well for progression to their next steps” and that “all completing students had a positive destination to either further or higher education or employment”. Progression on to higher education from Stockton Sixth Form College bucks the national trend and we also offer a prestigious scholarship opportunity for students who achieve a place to study at Oxbridge.

Greenwich Peninsula

CLOD ENSEMBLE create provocative, finely crafted performance and participation projects driven by movement and music. For over 25 years, director Suzy Willson and composer Paul Clark have developed a highly original performance language, in collaboration with dancers, actors, musicians, medics, architects and orchestras. Our core team work from our studios in the Design District on Greenwich Peninsula, and we work with a wide range of freelance artists on each project. Each production has a unique visual identity and distinctive musical score. Highlights include Silver Swan, featuring a choir of seven unaccompanied singers; Under Glass, where performers are contained within glass cases, from a jam jar to a test tube; An Anatomie in Four Quarters in which the audience cut a path through the auditorium of a large theatre and Red Ladies, a chorus of identically dressed women who transform, celebrate and interrupt the familiar streets of a city. Our work is presented in London, across the UK and internationally in theatres, dance houses, galleries and public spaces including Sadler’s Wells, Tate Modern, The Lowry, Wales Millennium Centre, Serralves Museum Porto and Public Theater New York. Our approach to performance making embraces difference and ambiguity, allowing us to work with complex ideas in complex systems. Each of our projects upholds movement, music and visual languages as vital ways of knowing, learning, and communicating. We offer a wide-reaching programme of education and participation projects in schools, higher education institutions and NHS Trusts. These different areas of our work overlap, creating fertile ground for dialogue, debate and collaboration. We offer a rich programme of Talent Development, developing the next generation of music, dance and interdisciplinary artists. Through learning programmes we inspire young people through music and movement in formal education settings and beyond. Performing Medicine is our award-winning, sector-leading initiative, primarily focused on the education and wellbeing of healthcare workers – developing their skills through creative practice so they can build healthier, respectful, caring, creative communities.

The International Schools Partnership (ISP) is a growing group of committed colleagues in financially responsible schools around the world, all of which aim to be the school of choice in their local area. Learning is at the heart of everything we do for our students, colleagues and parents. We are committed to getting better, all the time. We are here to help our schools. We want them to get better. The best people to run our schools are the people in our schools. We call our way of working the ISP Framework. Our main role is as a critical friend and advisor to our schools. ISP was founded by an experienced team of committed educationalists and commercial operators who have worked together over many years. Our growing group of private schools located in the USA, Canada, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the UK, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Malaysia, Mexico and Peru educate children and students from 2–18 years of age. We have now expanded to 50 schools delivering multiple curricula and building on local brands and reputations with around 45,000 students and 7,000 staff located across the globe. We believe that successful schools are the ones that put learning at the heart of everything they do, always aiming to create rounded individuals that are able to forge successful careers and lives in a rapidly changing world. Our goal is to enable our schools to be the leading school of choice in their local area. We are a truly international group working in different cultures and speaking different languages. We work across countries and cultures, too, by working with each other and with other schools and communities. At ISP we continue to engage with schools around the world that are interested in becoming part of our global group of schools and look forward to welcoming more students and staff to the group.

School of Arts and Cultures

school of arts and cultures

Our teaching and research is closely linked to our impact and engagement activities and our staff and students are leaders and enablers of creative and cultural practice in the region, nationally and internationally. A key feature of the School of Arts and Cultures is that many of our staff and students have been, and in many cases continue to be, both academics and practitioners (e.g. musicians, artists, journalists, PR professionals and film-makers). Our musicians, artists and film-makers continue to perform and show their work on a world stage and this applies to our students too. For example, in 2017 our folk music students accompanied our Vice-Chancellor on a trip to China where they performed to great acclaim. Many colleagues from the School of Arts and Cultures work in co-productive ways with sectoral partners and to actively contribute to practice and policy making (e.g. making digital apps, co-creating exhibitions with curators, writing policy briefs for external bodies, investigating the UK’s live music industry, influencing national debates around media habits, the creative arts and cultural industries.) The result is that much of our teaching is extremely well-integrated from the outset with initiatives around employability and employer engagement, and our much of our research is readily translatable into impact and engagement work. Our staff and students organise an impressive range of public events (concerts, talks, performances and exhibitions) on a weekly basis which reach a diversity of audiences across the city and wider region. The School is also strongly engaged with issues of equality and diversity not just in terms of Athena Swan but also in terms of research and teaching specialisms of its staff and students. Colleagues are involved in broader initiatives such as the Martin Luther King celebrations, International Women’s Day, and the Centenary of the Representation of the People Act 1918. Staff in the School of Arts and Cultures are strongly committed to the values of collegiality, fairness and inclusivity and supportive of wider University and national initiatives relating to these.

I deliver life-changing material and personal expertise to shift clients towards a more fulfilling future. Through gaining personal empirical knowledge, I incorporate this experience along with research, training, and vocation in guiding those afflicted by trauma and addiction. As a proponent of breaking free from 'the madness', I have successfully liberated numerous individuals from 'hell' so that they can lead fruitful and inspiring lives.
