ECT offers customized on-site, off-site , and virtual computer training to organizations at affordable hourly rates. How is training delivered? The hands-on training provided, stresses shortcuts and features that will help participants learn how to enhance their Microsoft Office. Training can be delivered on-site using our mobile computer lab at your location or off-site in our classroom or virtually if that if preferred. Each participant receives a course handout that can be used as a reference on an on-going basis. In addition, ECT offers private one-on-one training or group sessions to individuals that cannot attend regular classes. It can be held at your office or at our location. Classes are delivered at a relaxed pace to ensure that everyone can move forward together.

At first I followed the standard path, doing a coaching qualification, learning NLP, NVC, SFBT and lots of other CPD (not to mention my degree which was 50% business studies). Then I found the 3 Principles which bridged the gap between what I already knew about Non-duality and how I was working with my clients. The evolved into the inside-out understanding I now bring to my clients and blew all the other interventions I used to work with for personal development/life coaching out of the water. Once you understand this truth it’s impossible to forget about it, so it’s naturally become a big part of the way I work whether I’m working with you personally, or on your profession. A similar evolution occurred with my Business Coaching model – it’s blossomed into something which reflects what is important to me. As you can probably tell I care a lot. Some would say too much. I care about sustainable business – for the planet, the animals, the people who make our clothes and post our parcels. I care about the individuals I encounter day to day who are working hard and feel exhausted. And I care about those I don’t encounter, who remain hidden in the system…

Just another WordPress siteIn 2003 Laura & George Molloy set up Swimbabes, a company dedicated to teaching babies to swim. It was a decision they made after joining Aquababies in Manchester with their son Joshua were the benefits for both Josh and Mum and Dad where clear to see. In fact Laura & George loved the swimming lessons so much that they both decided to train as baby swim instructors and in 2003 took the leap and set up Swimbabes just after the birth of their second child, Eve. Laura states: “Giving up a job that I had done for years was scary but I knew I needed to make changes in my life… Swimming had been so rewarding for Joshua I decided to challenge myself and set up my own business, and I am so glad I did”. In October 2003 Swimbabes ran their first sessions at the Trinity Hydro pool in Huddersfield with just 11 little swimmers, extending later that year to run classes in Sheffield too with over 150 swimmers by the following summer. The business continued to grow and in 2005 opened the Swimbabes shop to sell lots of the items that were used in the lessons. In 2007 Swimbabes looked to extend its team with our Office Managers joining and continued to extend Swimbabes, adding our Swimstars programme in 2014. Swimbabes now operate across Yorkshire and North Derbyshire with over 1800 little swimmers attending classes each week.

It’s time to look again at Let the Right One In, the Swedish film from 2008 that perhaps has something to say about 2022. It offers a distinctive take on Bram Stoker’s Dracula story which itself appeared in 1897 at a time of migrations from Eastern Europe. Dracula has proved to be a popular story in both theatre and cinema with many adaptations. 2022 is the centenary of Nosferatu, perhaps the most celebrated film adaptation. The novel Låt den rätte komma in by John Ajvide Lindqvist was published in 2004. The story is set in the early 1980s with heightened tension caused by Russian submarines tracked in Swedish waters. It is a fantasy story but Lindqvist made use of some of his own experiences as a young teenager in developing the narrative. The film adaptation in 2008, directed by Tomas Alfredson, presents an almost social realist Stockholm suburb with a new resident, a girl of 12 named Eli, moving in next door to Oskar, an introverted boy of the same age. The 2008 film became an international hit, celebrated by popular audiences and critics alike and generating a Hollywood remake (not so successful) and several stage adaptations. Tagged a ‘romantic horror’, the film raises questions about ethnicity, gender and migration. There will be plenty to discuss. Let the Right One In is available on BBC iPlayer for the next two months. ECA has always been a place of experimentation and collaboration, celebrated for enabling students from different disciplines to work alongside and with each other, and for creating strong linkages with other institutions. We trace our history back to the Trustees’ Academy founded in the 1760s which, over the course of the next century, operated from some of the most iconic buildings in the city, including the University’s Old College and what is now the Royal Scottish Academy. The first Professorship in an ECA subject area was created for Music in 1839 in the name of John Reid, with the Watson Gordon Chair of Fine Art founded some forty years later, the first of its kind in the British Isles and a turning point in the teaching of the History of Art. Following the establishment of the Reid Concert series in 1841, which continues to this day, the Reid Concert Hall was built in 1859. We’ve been known as Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) since 1906, following a major reorganisation of higher art education in Scotland. At the time, we were governed by the city Council and divided into four Schools: Drawing and Painting, Design and Crafts, Architecture, and Sculpture. We moved into what is still our Main Building in 1909, when the first of our annual Revel parties took place and, by 1913, our Cast Collection had been installed in the Sculpture Court.

The British accessories brand was founded by best friends and ex-fashion buyers Jemma and Lesa, who met on their first day at the London College of Fashion. They bonded over a love of design, a passion to start their own business and a mutual struggle to find a watch that they wanted to wear. Lovers of vintage, the pair would trawl through antique markets to find timepieces, but, whilst beautiful, the cogs would often stop and start. After graduation, the girls went on to pursue successful careers in fashion buying, clocking up time at diverse fashion brands such as Topshop, ASOS and Selfridges.
