GeeLearn’s Social Mission GeeLearn’s social mission is centered around the delivery of science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM), and in particular science education, to children in developing OECD countries. Leveraging our strengths as an innovator in online learning design, development, delivering, and funding, we volunteer our skills and energy and partner with organizations to deliver STEAM education to children in these developing nations, starting with Colombia. In 2020, after an intense 5-year review, Colombia was welcomed as the newest OECD member. In 2021, GeeLearn Ltd. Partnered with the Children’s University at the University of EAFIT (Universidad de Los Ninos de Universidad Escuela de Administración, Finanzas Instituto Tecnológico) in order to volunteer its skills, knowledge, and talents to expanding the reach of Children’s University via digital learning throughout not only Colombia but the whole of Latin America. Background of GeeLearn Ltd. and its Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative: Online Science Education for Children: Colombia to Latin America 2020 – 2023 GeeLearn Ltd. is a social enterprise headquartered in The Melting Pot, “Scotland’s Leading Centre for Innovation”. This volunteer effort for EAFIT Universidad de Los Ninos on behalf of GeeLearn Ltd. represents a social good and comprises a major part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative over a period of three years. The CSR initiative was approved by the company’s board of directors in the Autumn of 2020. The goal of the company was to engage with an educational initiative to help serve children in a developing country that is a member of the OECD. Colombia became an official member of the OECD in 2020, the 37thcountry to do so in the organization’s 60-year history. The directors of GeeLearn Ltd. have identified 6 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that its volunteer cooperation with EAFIT’s Universidad de Los Ninos touches upon and will help Colombia achieve. These include:

Progressiveness and permutation are the basic elements of any society. Change always challenges the norms set by society. Education is the criterion on the basis of which the progress of any society can be assessed in its totality. The era through which human civilization is passing today is not only unseen but also unprecedented. We have a moral responsibility to preserve and transfer our values and culture on one hand and on the other hand innovation, research and use of technology have become indispensable for the upliftment and development of mankind. As educationists, it is our responsibility to prepare the framework of value-based, quality education while designing the curriculum for school education. Education along with being the carrier of our culture, is a combination of modern understanding and technology in equal proportion. Education does not drown our students away in the flood of information, but by assimilating it, they can develop their personality all-round and can prove to be a better resource while discharging their duties towards society and nation. Keeping these points in mind, India has changed its education policy after almost three decades. Like any other policy, the success of the New Education Policy 2020 will also depend on its implementation. That is why keeping in mind the objectives of the new education policy, we have started some new initiatives in our school which include – Pragyan, Lakshya, Ehsaas, APS, Under the Sky, and Lessons of Equality, etc. The purpose of all these programs is to provide the students ‘Education of life’ beyond bookish knowledge. Today we need a radical change in the field of education. The more the change is accompanied by multilateral cooperation, the more eternal and effective it will be. Being a responsible educational institution, we look forward to your cooperation in this endeavor. Come and be a part of the change… Stay Blessed.

At Shop Zero, we’re here to help you shop more consciously and reduce your environmental impact. Bring your own containers for bulk, unpackaged food, lower impact personal care, ‘on the go‘ items, sustainable household goods and eco-friendly gifts. The Shop Zero Story When our founder, Sarah Maloy, went all-in on Plastic-free July in 2016, she felt completely overwhelmed! The world just wasn’t set up to help people reduce their waste. In committing to shop more consciously, Sarah embarked on an exciting new journey. She realised that if she was struggling to get bulk food and refills for her containers then other people would be too. How could she help to provide a solution? By opening her own zero-waste shop, Shop Zero (you can read about this experience in Sarah’s own words here). Sarah threw all of her research and knowledge into Shop Zero, only stocking products from ethical suppliers that she would personally use. Why do your eco-friendly shopping at Shop Zero? Our focus is on providing you with great quality sustainable goods with minimal packaging and a lower environmental impact. At Shop Zero, we know the provenance of what we sell – where our products come from and what they’re made of. We work alongside local producers and makers to bring you great quality sustainable products. To reduce packaging and food waste, we offer whole foods and store cupboard essentials in bulk and unpackaged. All ready for your own containers, in the quantities that you choose. We also host an exciting programme of ethically-focused events, talks, pop-up shops and workshops throughout the year featuring some amazing local independent businesses and individuals. And we’re here to talk with you about what you’re buying, so you can shop sustainably with confidence. We need a change in the way we consume and shop. Nature is cyclical and we need to follow her example (click here to find out more about adopting a circular economy). We’ve become disconnected from our environment. At Shop Zero, we want to support the move away from a linear approach of producing greater amounts of waste to taking more responsibility for the impact we have on our world.
