We put onto our child our ‘stuff’. Parenting more consciously starting with self-awareness, we begin to parent from a more grounded and conscious way. It feels lighter with less anxiety and conflict. Our child will be able to live more authentically, absorbing less of our fears. We can start to break patterns that we repeat time and time again. This approach can not only change the way you parent, but it will help with all the relationships in your life. It will help free our children so they can grow into resilient and compassionate adults with self worth, knowing they are ‘good enough’.

It took a while to understand and know the significance of this as it was all so natural to me and when my apprenticeship began in earnest, it felt like coming home. Since then I have worked and trained with Shamans from Peru, Nepal, Canada & North America. Kidz@Play is an established family business for over 30 years originating in Maynooth Co. Kildare. Kidz@Play Kilcock began in Scoil Chóca Naofa and through this, formed strong partnerships with primary schools in the area. The partnership with the Primary school is positive for children and families with many children moving on to primary school from Kidz@Play Playschool. We also operate an afterschool within the school where children can play relax and complete homework with the familiar Kidz@Play team. Kidz@Play History Evelyn developed the business originally from a home-based playschool. Through training and development as well as being the chairperson of the national organisation IPPA Evelyn developed and moved firstly to a rented unit in Maynooth and then to a full day purpose setting in Maynooth. The development of Kidz@Play Kilcock, over 8 years ago brought a unique partnership within the primary school and the service is now embedded within the Kilcock community. Evelyn holds a MA in Humanities in Early Childhood Care & Education, a BA ECEC, delivers training and lectures in the field of early childhood care and education. Evelyn also worked for the Department of Education and Skills inspecting the educational quality dimension to early years practice. Jess has a unique experience background as she came to work as a four-week-old baby with her mother as she ran the original home-based playschool. So, we can say Jess was born into the business! Jess continued to expand her knowledge by obtaining an Honours degree in Montessori Education age 3-12, gained experience in different settings, Montessori preschools and primary schools, play based playschools and primary school junior classes and successfully managed summer camps for large companies. Jess holds a MA in Education specialising in the Early Years (2019) from Maynooth University. Jess manages the Kilcock Kidz@Play service delivering both preschool and afterschool. Jess took over the helm as general manager and owner during Evelyn’s inspection period. Now together this vastly experienced mother daughter team have pooled skills and experience to form a Company that will guarantee the highest quality in the delivery of education and care in the Newtown hall site. Together with a highly qualified staff team which are experienced qualified and working in Kidz@Play for many years. Early year’s educators working in Kidz@Play are experienced and hold Honours degrees, QQI Level 5 and 6 and both services have LINC Co-coordinators as inclusive services. As a member of Early Childhood Ireland, we create a welcoming environment for children through our play based emergent curriculum where children’s interests, development and rights are central to our philosophy and in line with the national curriculum framework for early years Aistear. The testimonials of local families to the quality of education and care in Kidz@Play can be seen in returning family and friends over the years with several parents who attended Kidz@Play themselves now sending their own children. Kidz@Play Maynooth Within the Maynooth community Kidz@Play have made solid links with local primary schools and support the children’s transitions to national school. I am Dorothea Scales. I have founded Fidas Consent Training because I want to share my knowledge and experience of dealing with sexual assaults and rapes which I gained during my career as a Detective Sergeant. I have combined my passion for safeguarding with my enthusiasm for training – having an MA in education and being a qualified teacher gave me the skills set to develop and deliver my courses. Since leaving the Police in October 2021, I have already delivered to hundreds of students, pupils and their teachers, to Designated Safeguarding Leaders and University students, colleges, youth organisations, charities, and apprentices   I have combined my expertise as an ex-Detective Sergeant in Safeguarding and my experience as a teacher, to develop my completely unique consent workshops, presentations and now a cost effective eLearning package . I have trained Detectives, Police cadets and Police Special constables and probationers. I have developed courses for Police officers in dealing sensitively with victims of rape and confronting myths and misconceptions. I have lead  leading a Pilot project for Durham County Council in delivering consent workshops to local secondary schools.   Fidas Consent Training is about sharing my passion for safeguarding the truly vulnerable and giving every person an informed choice about consent.   As a qualified, experienced, and passionate safeguarding specialist, I have 16 years’ experience as a Police Officer, protecting the rights of children, young people, and adults. I have always been driven by making a positive difference to the vulnerable. During my time in education and the Police, I have developed additional skills in risk management, people leadership and managing the most complex investigations which demand a sensitive and compassionate response. Victim focused and people centred in my work, I championed change in the police and built strong alliances with partner organisations As a Detective Sergeant within the Safeguarding unit I dealt with victims and suspects of rape and sexual assaults on a daily basis, often from report to court. I know and understand all the devastating consequences of not understanding or ignoring consent and want to share my experience with young people for a better future. I am a qualified Teacher and Safeguarding instructor committed to sharing my experience and expertise through my training courses. The Feldenkrais method needs to be experienced. As babies we learn to stand upright, walk, run and to move in an entirely natural way. The capacity to learn is in our DNA. We achieve this without a teacher because we are hard wired to do so. As we grow older learning loses its natural spontaneity; we are nestled in a school system, a society with rules, codes of behaviour and necessary ways of being if we want to fit in and survive. And maybe our parents weren’t the most enlightened beings on the planet! No blame, this is just how it is. Lets suppose the nervous system is built to enable us to keep learning, to remain open to new ways of doing things, to refine ourselves, take risks, create, be curious, and this nervous system never stops doing that. Ever! This version of ourselves is what Moshe Feldenkrais deeply understood to be true about human beings. Bringing together his expertise in physics, engineering, martial arts, childhood motor development and physiology he developed a method which allows anyone who wants to, to gain more mastery over themselves. We (Georgette & Sophinne) are sisters who both share an obsessive love for ethical home scents that are reminiscent of good times. We developed our scent range around childhood memories growing up in the UK and through family trips around Europe and Ghana. Aya is an Adinkra symbol in Ghana meaning resourcefulness and endurance represented as a fern and was used as a symbol of hope throughout the pandemic. The fern artwork in our packaging represents the Adinkra symbol and our commitment to being an eco-friendly brand.
