The Eden Workshop is part of Right2Work and runs Craft Workshops & courses at The Appleby Hub and will travel! The Appleby Hub is run by Right2Work CIC, http://www.right2work.org.uk which is part of The Oaklea Trust http://www.oakleatrust.co.uk which strive to strengthen local communities – an example of their work being Project Edenside just round the corner from The Hub. The Hub is a former church and is now a thriving community centre with a busy café with a seed swap station, craft shop, second hand bookshop and a jigsaw library. Upstairs there are studios rented by artists and rooms for hire. The bustling market town of Appleby, boasts a vibrant high street full of independent shops and cafes, there’s good road links – we are just off A66 and 20mins from M6 jct 40. Along with the published list of Workshops that you can book onto we also offer private, bespoke ones just for you such as girly catch ups, team building, birthday/crafty hen parties, team building/bonding – these can be arranged at a time to suit and with food to suit too – anything from a crafty couple of hours get together with friends (starting from £25) to a day’s bag making or two day basket weaving or upholstery workshop. Refreshments & a tasty lunch cooked in our onsite wholefood café are included on the day courses (allergies & special dietary requirements catered for – please advise on booking) as are some, if not most of the materials. There is plenty of parking in the pay & display carpark adjacent to The Hub, the art studio & Bennett Room are accessed by a flight of stairs so please ask if you require any assistance, there is also a lift.

Fi grew up in London and throughout her childhood was always either making things, drawing or painting. She did her foundation course in London and then chose to leave the city and take her degree in Fine art Painting in the beautiful city of Bath. After spending a couple of years, based in a studio group in Bristol, making her own work, she decided to move back to London and shortly thereafter she did a PGCE and began her teaching career. After having her son, and due to work commitments, Fi and her family moved to Worcester and this is where she began honing her skills as a jeweller. She is now a jewellery designer and painter, offering unique, handmade jewellery pieces which are mostly made in silver, incorporating semi precious stones and accents of gold. Jewellery commissions are regularly undertaken and include recycling of old jewellery pieces to make new. Her jewellery is inspired by the style of ancient and archaeological pieces and natural forms and aspire to having a very handmade, and 'just dug up' look. Most of the work has been hand forged but more recently Fi has employed the lost wax casting process and now also runs workshops. Vibrant colour plays a large part in both her painting, prints and jewellery. Having trained in Fine Art, she uses the studio to paint in and undertakes portrait commissions. Having a portrait painted of a loved one can be an excellent way to mark a special birthday or occasion. As with possible jewellery commissions she would be more than happy to discuss requirements and options. There are a selection of workshops which can be booked in her studio, based on jewellery making and painting. Workshops can be a fantastic way to learn a new skill or done as a group can be a wonderful experience.

We bring hoop to your events and parties, whether it be a hen party, or a black tie event. RoRo is a performer and a qualified teacher who has over 10 years teaching practise and a whole load of hoop experience. Originally self-taught, she now teaches at schools, circus schools, and conventions, as well as running weekly classes, and workshops. We travel often and have teachers all over the UK so no gig, workshop or class is too big or too small. We have esteemed performers nationwide who can provide entertainment and workshops for large-scale events with specialisms in hula hoop, fire, LED and aerial. Our School of Circus sessions provide workshop packages and sessions with an attention on being different from the norm, we have circus, dance, and a whole lot more. Many young people do not experience any aspect of circus as prop for performance or as a physical activity and it is our intention to address this whilst offering something different to the conventional norm. As a performer we show case single and multi hoop tricks, blending circus, dance, and a whole load of pizazz. These can be done according to theme, with other performers (hoop or other), or with LED. Party packages (popular for hen & birthday parties) give you the opportunity to learn and see some impressive stuff, where guests can be entertained, whilst learning and having fun. If you are looking for a new hobby, or are wanting to get serious in the world of hoop, you have come to the right place. It’s fitness, it’s circus, it’s dance, and so much more. Moreover, it is something you can practice pretty much anywhere. All you need is a hoop, a sprinkle of determination, and some space. All classes and workshops are taught by trained professionals, in a supportive and structured environment. We can teach online or in person. Colliford Tavern & Holiday Site offers a wide range of accommodation, including hotel rooms, self-catering apartment, mobile home, glamping pods, campsite, touring caravan pitches with electric hookups, hard standing pitches. The site has a bar and a restaurant with a wide range of alcoholic drinks and international cuisine. The bar and restaurant are also open for non-residents and walk-in guest throughout the year. The bar is stock with local real ale and bears famous Cornwall served from 11:00 am until midnight. (time may very due to COVID-19 and off-pick season) The restaurant serves healthy Indian cuisine with a variety of options for vegetarian and vegan. (Due to COVID-19 our Indian chef stuck in India, Therefore Indian Cuisine may not available until Mid July 2021) The restaurant also makes light lunch throughout the day. Besides Indian food, the restaurant does traditional pub foods for the guest who want to try conventional Cornish pub food. It caters for all type of events, including weddings, birthday parties and annual dinners for the corporates and clubs. The site has a children’s playground and views of Colliford Lake. The area is famous for moor walking, cycling, hiking, golfing and fishing. The colliford Lake is within 7-10 minutes of walking distance, (no direct lake access through property) and A30 is within 2 minutes of driving distance to connect dual carriageway. Plymouth is 23 miles from Colliford Tavern, while Newquay is 24 miles from the property. The nearest airport is Newquay Airport, 19 miles from the site.

A history of the school… Marjorie Eileen Wise – a Christmas Day baby! As with lots of little girls, Marjorie Wise wanted to go to ballet lessons, and her parents, Harry & Grace decided at age 6, she could go to Leicester ballet teacher, Queenie Green and enjoy a few ballet lessons. Marjorie’s parents were unaware of the talent that their daughter had! Marjorie enjoyed her ballet lessons and took her Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) exams one by one until by the age of 17, she had passed her Advanced Exam and had begun to achieve the relevant teaching qualifications to be able to teach RAD ballet and enter children for exams. Just before her 18th birthday, she decided to open her own school and thus Marjorie Wise School of Dancing (MWSD) was born. Harry & Grace Wise were keen to assist their daughter with this venture and moved from the family home in Aylestone to a house on Saxby Street, Leicester, because it had a dance studio in the basement. This was converted into a ballet studio with bespoke mirrors, barres and floor. Marjorie Wise became a household name in Leicester and the school thrived. Marjorie herself continued with her own ballet study and soon expanded into International Dance Teacher’s Association (IDTA) tap and theatre craft study. Marjorie travelled weekly to be taught by Sissie Smith in Nottingham and furthered her knowledge of ballet. Soon, Saxby Street was too small for the expanding school and Marjorie started hiring local halls to teach in. Her cousin, an excellent pianist, accompanied the classes on the piano and her parents dealt with the admin of running the school. In the 1960’s, a young girl called Yvonne Saunders, joined the school for her lessons, as she wanted a classical RAD ballet school for her training. Yvonne was a very talented dancer and Marjorie quickly recognised an outstanding talent in this pupil. She was not wrong, as Yvonne went on to be the lead dancer with the Royal Ballet, partnering the likes of Rudolf Nureyev and dancing solos with the Company all over the world. Yvonne continued to keep in touch with Marjorie on a regular basis.

Great Denham Primary School and Pre-School is situated at the heart of the Great Denham Community and conveniently situated for Bedford town and road links to the M1 and A1. Great Denham village is a new and growing community with facilities including a Nursery, Sainsbury's Local, independent retail outlets and The new Village Hall which opened in 2016. Our school opened in September 2012 with just 100 pupils, we have now grown to over 560 pupils in 2022! We are now a three-form entry primary school in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 and two form in Year 4,5 and 6. We also have a Nursery class for children from the September after their third birthday. When our pupils leave us at the end of Year 6 they transfer to one of many local secondary schools including Biddenham Secondary School and Lincroft Academy. Great Denham Primary School opened its doors for the first time in September 2012 with just over 100 children and 15 staff. In 2022 we now have over 580 children and 100 staff! The school had a 7 classroom extension in 2018 and we are now taking 90 children in each year group up to Year 4. Eventually, we will have 650 children with 3 classes in each year group. Many of the original staff remain at the school including the Headteacher and one of the Deputy Headteachers. Our Family Groups When children leave our early years they join one of our four family groups which they will remain in until they leave GDPS in Year 6. Each family group wears their own coloured polo shirt and there are regular opportunities throughout the term for children to learn, play and compete in their family group. Each family has a head boy and girl who are elected by the rest of their family. The head boys and girls are children from Year 6. The idea of having family groups came from wanting to create a small school feel within a large primary school. Each family has a Head of family (a member of the school leadership team). Our families have even written their own family songs which we sing regularly in assembly!

Hi, I'm Hayley and I'm a healer and teacher. I'm trained as a Moon Mother (giving female energy healings and blessings), a shamanic healer and a crystal healer. I combine these with over twenty years experience working with witchcraft, the moon and nature to bring you healing, empowerment and knowledge. So you too can work with natural forces to bring positive change to your life. About Being a Moon Mother I began my journey as a Moon Mother in 2016. I had been taking part in something called 'The Worldwide Womb Blessing' for a year- which happens five times a year where thousands of women connect through a meditation to help them feel more empowered as women. You can read more about this on https://www.wombblessing.com After a year of taking part in this event that is run by a woman called Miranda Gray, I came across something on the Womb Blessing website about 'Moon Mothers'. Something in the name itself rang a bell in me so I continued reading. I learnt that a Moon Mother is a woman trained to do personalised womb healings and womb blessings. My heart sang in a way it never had before, and I knew this was a path I wanted to follow. I found out that Miranda Gray (she was the only teacher at the time- there are now trained teachers in addition) was doing a Level 1 Moon Mother training in London that year. I was living in Essex at the time and London is not to far, so it was ideal! Not only that but as it turns out Miranda Gray hadn't been in the UK for a few years, as she teaches all over the world, so it also felt like an unique opportunity. So I went to the Level 1 training and I fell in love with it, learning how to womb healing and blessing, everything about it felt right. I definitely wanted to continue this journey, this first one literally changed my life as I learnt how to live to my cycle and this shifted everything- even leading me to let go of taking the contraceptive pill after so many years. Two years later, there was a Level 2 training, this time in Glastonbury. It had always been my dream to go to Glastonbury but I had never been. I really wanted to go but didn't know how I would get there, or be able to afford the training, plus accommodation etc. I decided to make a gofundme page asking for donations, and I was asking for this instead of birthday presents as the training also fell on my birthday weekend. I was able partly because of the GoFundMe and partly through my own determined saving to have all the money I needed, I had a friend offer to drive and let me down, but somehow I still could afford the travel so I made it! If the first training had changed me, this weekend in Glastonbury deeply impacted me, as I did the training, but also felt much deep awakening from being in the Spiritual home of Glastonbury. I made close friends with other Moon Mothers this time. I learnt how to do the Female Soul Healing (a deeper version of the womb healing) and how to do The Gift for Men (a feminine blessing for men). The following year, a level 3 training was announced, this time in Ireland and would be held just before an annual 'Moon Mother Gathering' an event where lots of Moon Mothers come together from all over the world. On this occasion the gathering would be taking the Moon Mothers to the different sacred sites in Ireland. Of course I wanted to go! I was in the same position financially and there was even more to think about- flights etc. But I was determined to do it and so yet again by my own determination and grit, I found myself there. It was a beautiful experience shared with my new found friends from the previous years. My spirituality journey was profoundly touched by the whole experience- the training, Ireland and the sacred sites we visited. I could now offer another six versions of the womb blessing! - Opening to Sacredness, Opening to Peace and the four archetype blessings of Maiden, Mother, Enchantress and Crone. Becoming a Moon Mother and sharing this work with others has been transformative, changing my life in many ways. Out of all the work I do, this is where I feel I shine the most!

Heatherwood's Equestrian Academy is available for private & small group lessons or you may join us for one of our week-long summer day camps. The Academy teaches safety around horses, horse anatomy, proper grooming, feeding and housing, equipment use and learning to "tack up" a horse. Riding covers proper seat, leg and hand position as well as learning to walk, trot and canter using correct diagonals, leads and gait. Each rider will be assessed to determine the pace at which they will advance to the next level. Heatherwood's goal is not only to teach horsemanship to our students, but to foster a bond between the rider and horse in order to develop a sense of awareness and sensitivity to the special attributes of their relationship. Every animal and guest at Heatherwood is treated with respect and kindness. Children often gain self-confidence and independence in their abilities to care for themselves and our animal friends. Private & Small group lessons - Offered in eight week sessions consisting of a 1/2 hour session each week. Small groups consist of two riders. Riders should plan extra time both before & after each lesson to help groom & tack up their horse if able to do so. Heatherwood facilities offer indoor & outdoor riding arenas for year round instruction. We also take students on our riding trails. We welcome adult & child riders of all levels, from beginners to those ready to advance to jumping. Whether you want to learn to ride for pleasure, advance to horse shows, or ride for an excellent way to exercise, Heatherwood Academy will tailor a program for your interests. Birthday parties - For up to ten children with riding lessons given for the party guests. We provide the cake, drinks, & decorations. Joss Hughes is a self-taught mosaic artist working from her studio in a beautiful rural setting near Romsey, in Hampshire. When not working on commission, she creates mosaics for sale at local outlets or plans her next adult “Mosaic and Cake” workshop. She marvels at the natural creativity of children taking part in her “Make a Mosaic” parties or in after-school and holiday camp mosaic sessions. Mosaic creations in stained glass and mirror dominate her portfolio however, she also particularly enjoys working with beach-combed sea glass and driftwood. The latter are mainly sourced from her beloved South Cornwall. Other materials she occasionally uses include 'found' objects from the garden or beach, and the commercially available glass tiles and nuggets. After a crafty childhood Joss focused her mind to pursue a career in Paediatric Medicine. Six university years and a further seventeen, mainly working for NHS England, left little time or energy for creativity! Job rotations and RAF deployments (her husband) necessitated living at fourteen different addresses (in the UK and in Australia). Retrospectively she realises that the repetitive home-and-garden making was expressing a hidden natural creativity. Five years ago she made the life- changing decision to say 'goodbye' to Dr J Hughes, Neonatal Doctor, and to say 'hello' to Joss Hughes, mosaic artist. A birthday gift of a two day beginners’ course (Clare Goodall, Oxford) in 2009 had sown the seed of the addictive nature of mosaics. Following up on two chance sightings of the same incredible huge floating mosaic ball, she tracked down the artist and a second two day course (Sue Smith, Devon) in 2014 reignited Joss's passion and introduced her to the media of stained glass and mirror. There followed lots of trial and error at the kitchen table with glass shards flying everywhere before she finally produced a mosaic she felt able to show anyone! Slowly amassing the prerequisites of a basic studio she moved into her own working space and, in May 2017, she decided to officially launch her own business: Peacock Mosaics. In 2018 Joss attended a 5 day residential mosaic course at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation, learning from the fabulous Sonia King. The emphasis was on developing artistic expression. In 2019 Joss became the Editor (a voluntary role) for "GROUT", a thrice yearly publication by the British Association of Modern Mosaic for its members. This has been a superb networking and knowledge-boosting opportunity. She also attended the 2018 and 2019 BAMM Forums, in London and York respectively, furthering her contact with the UK mosaic community. She has had mosaics accepted for exhibition in Penzance, York and Andover during 2019. In 2020 Joss will attend a short course at the London School of Mosaic, with tutor Debra Collis, exploring further her preference for abstract design, and practicing colour studies and andamenti.
