A non profit CIC, we strive to lead by example, inspire and empower, raise aspirations and improve individual and community wellbeing, Seadream offers a fantastic variety of tailored workshops and activities – some fully funded and we facilitate public engagement and effective collaboration. We strive to source funding which enables us to deliver accessible STEM outreach programmes, workshops and activities to the wider community, across cities and rural locations, adapting programmes to suit all needs. Understanding and respect for the world around us underpins Seadream Education and drives positive outcomes within and throughout the community. Although we are a non-profit organisation we have a desire to grow, to generate a steady income stream, to build the security needed to employ more staff, to have better resources and to have a greater impact. We create value as a team of professional scientists striving to showcase our experiences in unique and modern ways. Helping the children of travelling salespeopleI feel that it is a great honour to have been elected Chairman of our Foundation, and I trust that we shall continue to be effective in providing educational support for children of travelling sales people during times of adversity. Many years ago, when I was experiencing a tricky time with my career, I was fortunate to receive a series of grants primarily to assist my youngest daughter, Claire, with her education and specialist swimming training. Royal Pinner’s assistance, at a crucial stage of Claire’s education, was invaluable. Claire went on to graduate from Leeds University as well as to participate in the Paralympic Games held in Athens, Beijing, London and Rio – where she won a Gold Medal. Obviously, our Royal Pinner grants were withdrawn when Lottery funding became available, but we shall be forever grateful for the support we received at a critical stage of Claire’s development. Being in receipt of support is one side of the Trust and, since becoming a Trustee several years ago, I have also seen the other side – helping to alleviate the hardships encountered by our beneficiaries and new applicants – and I have felt very humbled. Most of our families face and endure far more difficult circumstances than I did, but, on the other hand, I have also seen how effective our grants and pastoral support can be. Our focus remains on the sons and daughters of commercial travellers where there is also a specific need or hardship, and we aim to continue to provide effective educational support during the years to come.

ProTemporis is an outsourcing and consultancy service to provide schools with specialist support for their timetable provision. Having worked at management level for almost 20 years in independent schools, and having been responsible for timetabling in various roles throughout that time, it has often occurred to me that it was a pity that more schools were not able to benefit from real expertise in this area. The timetable is such an important part of the effective functioning of a school, and yet time and time again I have been aware of schools which have struggled in some way with this aspect of their management. After 10 years as Deputy Head at my last school, I saw an opportunity to go and do something different and to set about establishing a service to schools that would fill a gap in the support that has been available to them in the past. And so an idea that has spent many years fermenting became a reality, and ProTemporis was born. In describing within these pages what ProTemporis has to offer, and the circumstances in which you might find our services useful, it is in no way my wish to denigrate what is already happening in schools or to undermine the fine work that many timetablers and Academic Deputies up and down the country are doing. For many schools, this area of management will not be a current problem. However, circumstances change and sometimes the situation can develop where a school may benefit from outside support. The purpose of this website is, therefore, to outline for you how the services of ProTemporis could be useful to you should your circumstances require them.

When I was employed by our sister company Reach Alternative Education, we were moved daily by seeing our families clearly needing support and guidance with various situations and circumstances. Although we were able to do this to a point our social consciousness knew that this was not enough. This troubled us greatly, so we set about researching what was missing from our local communities and how we could bridge that gap. We realised we could create a response to address the imbalance that would add to the already vital services out there; whilst making sure that what we offered was completely accessible particularly for our families who never quite met thresholds with statutory or specialist services elsewhere. After much careful consideration Reach Out (SW) CiC was born as a not for profit community interest company. We hadn’t of course anticipated all things Covid-19 so our pilot and launch are commencing slightly later than scheduled as we do our utmost to accommodate best practice in line with ever-changing guidelines from the government. We are very fortunate to have complete support from Reach Alternative Education along with our directors and Advisory Group. We believe we have a format that is responsive to the ever-changing need of environments. We endeavour to supply practical support, guidance and enterprising opportunities to our local families that chose to access it. We launch our pilot in late September 2020 with the aim of obtaining enough grant support and donations to make the provision available to fully launch our Not for Profit Community Interest Company in late March 2021.
