Hi, I'm Dave, a fully qualified personal trainer, fitness instructor, sports massage therapist and nutrition specialist. I created Edinburgh Bootcamp in April 2016 when I first moved to Edinburgh with my 2 awesome little boys. Now with almost 3000 classes over the last 5 years, EBC has a strong community of amazing people who support each other every week both online and in the field. I love what I do and I make sure every class is the best it can be! EBC is everything you want out of an exercise class! You will laugh, you will sweat and you will feel alive! I developed my passion for health and fitness about 10 years ago and have since had a lot of experience working with people, coaching and now run my own online nutrition programme LeanFit. I used to be 20 kilos overweight and addicted to junk food. I have not always been into health and fitness! I decided one day that is was time to get a hold of my life and turn my health around, this is where my long and bumpy journey started. I have been through countless fad diets and I have fallen off the wagon more times than I care to mention. This has given me valuable life experience that I now use to help others reach their goals and feel amazing everyday! There is so much confusion about exercise and nutrition, but there is no need! I enjoyed a very broad experience with Shell UK, spanning logistics and distribution, business-to-business marketing, retail sales, marketing communications and the exploitation of motor sport sponsorships, customer service, operations and career transition. During this time I was also invited to tutor with The Leadership Trust on their Leadership in Management programme. This increased my desire to transform the performance of both executives and senior managers; and by that, to improve organisational performance too. This interest led me to the world of HR and in particular, guiding organisations through down-sizing processes; and supporting people through the redundancy experience – empowering them to become more self-aware and articulate their value to new potential employers. Specialising at executive and senior manager levels, means I make a real difference to them as individuals, drawing out their real values that positively impact on performance, profitability and stakeholder esteem; and therefore benefit new roles or organisations. For over 25 years, I have provided specialist and focused support to executives and senior managers spanning all key disciplines and the entire spectrum of industry, public sector and 3rd sector organisations. My interest is always in finding a better way to help smooth the process; guiding clients in a more professional way through each stage of their career transition – always with high quality and unlimited 1:1 support – and a unique approach supported by technical reasoning and psychological evidence. Currently a Post graduate Researcher at the University of Leeds, researching the most efficient methods of mordanting fibres with the environment and sustainability in mind, Debbie is also an Associate of the Society of Dyers and Colourists*. Her brand, The Mulberry Dyer, was established in the early 1990’s following the completion of the City and Guilds Art and Design – Embroidery course, with a view to producing naturally dyed embroidery silks, which at that time were unavailable. Meticulous research into dyes and methods used in the 17th century resulted in the accurate reproduction of these silks. This research was then expanded to cover all periods in history and for other fibres. Examples of work can be found in the V & A Museum, Hampton Court Palace, the Globe Theatre and other Museums and Historic Houses across the UK and Europe. A specialist in the dyestuff madder, she runs courses and masterclasses and is the first dyer for many decades to successfully reproduce the Turkey Red process in Europe. Research and experimentation continue for both historical and Industrial purposes, she is currently a Post Graduate Researcher at the University of Leeds. Environmental impacts of natural dyes and mordants, colourfastness (light, wash and rub) are key to current research. For several years a consultant to Industrial Organisations wishing to add naturally dyed products to their range. A contributor to the Encyclopaedia of Medieval Dress and Textiles c450 – 1450** and with several articles published in The Journal (for Weavers, Spinners and Dyers) a book is the next step.

Advocacy Services: Our Community and Specialist Advocacy services provide support for Derbyshire residents to have their voice heard when important decisions are being made about their lives or to overcome issues that are impacting on their health and wellbeing. We also provide independent advocacy support for Derbyshire residents who wish to make a complaint about their NHS care or treatment, including any complaint against an organisation or service funded by the NHS. Enjoying Derbyshire: ‘Enjoying Derbyshire’ is our name for our community mental wellbeing programme comprising of groups and activities that have the common goal of improving mental wellbeing by boosting mood, reducing loneliness and isolation, and creating meaningful connections between people in Derbyshire. Active Monitoring: Active Monitoring is our guided self-help service for people experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems. Currently the Derbyshire Mind Active Monitoring service is being delivered from three GP practices across Derbyshire: Crich, Ripley, and Horizon in Derby. MindSpace: Derbyshire Mind’s MindSpace meet-ups are supportive community groups in local parks that creates space for people to get together, get some fresh air, meet some new friends, and be listened to in a friendly and inclusive group. All MindSpace walks are supported by our fantastic Derbyshire Mind volunteers who are friendly, inclusive, welcoming and really great listeners. We listen without judgement and without trying to ‘fix’ or give advice.
