Hi, I’m Jo the designer/maker here at Willow Moon HQ, based in Derbyshire. I’ve been making jewellery for many years, starting with beaded jewellery and attended my first fair back in 1989. But I’d always had a yearning to learn traditional silversmithing skills and was able to start my training back in 2000, thanks to a local gallery offering silver classes and my passion grew from there. I have since attended many different classes in various mediums to develop my craft. I create handcrafted jewellery using traditional metailsmithing and wire wrapping techniques, creating pieces in sterling silver, copper and semi-precious stones. My style is influenced by art nouveau, with inspiration from nature, the textures and shapes from the natural world. I’m really looking forward to adding my handcrafted jewellery to my website, alongside my “Willow Moon Wish” range of earrings and wish bracelets. The earrings are 925 sterling silver, cast in the UK and I create all of the cards, using recycled kraft card. I also teach wire wrapping, usually holding workshops throughout the year in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

As a player, Peter had a 20 year career with Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Essex and England. During that time, as a spin bowler he took over 1,000 wickets in First XI County Cricket. On 51 occasions he took 5 wickets in an Innings and had nine 10 wicket bags. In his 11 Test Matches he took 37 wickets including two 5 wicket hauls with a Test Match best of 6 for 67 on debut verses Australia at Old Trafford. Domestic highlights included winning 2 County Championships with Essex and appearing in 3 show piece Lords Cup Finals, winning both the Nat West Trophy and the Benson and Hedges Cup. He has a career best in First Class Cricket of 8 for 93 and a match best analysis of 13 for 213. Other notable achievements with the ball include holding the record for the most number of overs bowled in an innings by a bowler in the history of the County Championship finishing with bowling figures of 86 overs 49 maidens 94 runs & 4 wickets.

It takes many years for a golf course to mature and develop but Ruddington Grange is now unrecognisable compared to when it first opened in 1988. Quite apart from the fact that more than 5,000 trees have been planted over the years, an ongoing program of improvements has turned this 6,515-yard Par 72 course into one of the most challenging and best-kept in Nottinghamshire. Now a regular venue for county matches and competitions, its reputation grows as each year passes, so it is little wonder that Ruddington has a thriving club membership and is a popular choice for societies and major golf days. The attractive parkland course, which has water hazards in play on eight holes, has also grown into a haven for wildlife – including a pair of resident swans. The fact that all 18 holes provide a different challenge undoubtedly adds to the interest yet the course can be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities. As each year goes by, the trees grow and the greens develop their own identity, so the degree of difficulty increases noticeably.

Tumble Tots is Nottingham's premium children's physical activity programme, from Walking (around 1 year old) to school age (4 years). Designed to develop children’s physical skills of agility, balance, co-ordination and climbing, through the use of brightly coloured Tumble Tots equipment, especially designed for little people. According to the physical activity guidelines issued by the four Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland regular physical activity in children and young people is associated with improved learning and attainment, better mental health and cardiovascular fitness, also contributing to healthy weight status. Toddlers and preschoolers should spend at least 180 minutes (3 hours) per day in a variety of physical activities. The Tumble Tots programme has been carefully designed to promote physical activity, sport and exercise in children for physical and mental health benefits. A recurring payment is similar to a direct debit but taken from a valid debit or credit card and not directly from your bank account. The monthly fee is £28 and will be automatically processed on the 1st of the month for classes in the same month, i.e. September class fees will be paid on 1st September. We operate classes during school term time only and your monthly subscription plan covers class fees for a full school calendar year (36 weeks per annum), which have then been divided into 11 convenient and affordable recurring monthly payments. Your subscription will be paused in August, when no classes are running, or during periods of national lockdown. You may cancel your child's classes at anytime, giving a minimum 4 weeks notice. Our team are DBS checked. There is a paediatric first aider and fire warden on site at all times. Parents are actively involved in the sessions for under 3’s. In the 3+ sessions, Tumble Tots participate without their grown up. By taking part you agree and acknowledge: • That it is an indoor activity with an element of risk. Members should be prepared to be knocked or bruised whilst learning new skills. My jewellery is inspired by the natural world. The landscape in particular has a strong influence on the concept of my designs, but psychologically and emotionally it is the ancient world of Talismanic potency that inhabits the finished pieces.’ Design is the pivotal dictate of Lucy Copleston’s work, and imagination the essence. Her sketchbooks are used to ‘think’ on paper and her designs are further developed and refined through prototypes. Landscape has always contributed to her vision through an awareness of land mass balanced against sky, the perspective of diminishing roads and the sculptural statement of trees. Her mother Jean Royle and her grandfather Stanley Royle contributed greatly to this awareness, as both were landscape painters: www.jean-royle.com. and www.stanleyroyle.com The flowing linear decoration, a signature of Lucy’s style, draws inspiration from her early childhood experience of living beside a small river in rural Suffolk, and the familiar sight of shallow water rippling over pebbles in sunlight. She views jewellery as a magical element, imbued with an enduring energy reaching beyond this life, as did people of the ancient world. Her formal training began in 1962 at Mansfield College of Art, Nottinghamshire. Then in 1964 – 67 she studied for a BA in 3-dimensional design at Loughborough College of Art and Design, Leicestershire. In 1967 she furthered her studies at the Royal College of Art, London, specialising in silversmithing and graduating with an MA in 1970. Producing one-off commissioned pieces, limited editions and repeatable ranges of jewellery forms the majority of her work, alongside teaching jewellery making at her workshop on a one-to-one basis. She lives in the very beautiful Vale of Clwyd in North Wales, surrounded by an inspiring landscape, with expansive views of the Clwydian hills. Stockists:

Having run my own lorry for Hire & Reward including continental for a while I have been where you are going to be…. In the real world. I've run my own lorry based buisness for a number of years and moved into Driver Training in 1985 when two people who worked for me needed a C+E licence (HGV class 1) and just could not find a t...raining provider who offered the right training at a realistic price. I trained up both of them successfully and the rest as they say is history. In 1985 I attended the RTITB (The only recognised body to Road Transport) and also did the re registration courses as and when they were due. Since then the DSA have started their voluntary registration which I joined when launched. In January 2008 I re-sat & again passed the LGV Instructors course for the third time running including the new Theory Test and the Hazard Perception. So I know from personal experience what you will be expected to do. I'm one of only a handful of instructors in the area who are fully qualified. Not many people realise that, unlike Car instructors, HGV trainers do not have to be qualified to teach you. In over 20 years of training I have built up a firm customer base with many companies having been with me since 1985. There are two agencies who take newly qualified lorry drivers from me on a regular basis. I believe that during training it is important to be on the road as much as possible. I don’t have any Classrooms or spend time in Cafés or parked in Lay-By’s. All my training is in the Cab, the majority of the time with the wheels moving and you at the controls. After all that’s what you are paying for!
