Our Global Organisation The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) is a leading global organisation, which provides health, safety and environmental qualifications. Our internationally recognised qualifications help to raise the competence of safety and environmental professionals as well as individuals at all levels in the workplace. NEBOSH qualifications are highly respected by governments, employers and our learners. Since our inception in 1979 almost 550,000 people from around the world have gained a NEBOSH qualification. Tens of thousands join their number every year, studying with our network of 600 Learning Partners offering exams in over 130 countries. Our vision and mission Our Vision - We enable and inspire the world of work and wider environment to be a safer and healthier place. Our Mission - We provide world-class and accessible, health, safety, environment, risk and wellbeing qualifications and services. Our charitable impacts As an internationally recognised charity NEBOSH plays an important role in the health, safety and environmental professional community. Through NEBOSH qualifications, learners and their employers can improve the lives of people around the world by keeping their colleagues and their communities safe from work-related accidents and ill-health. How many people are we reaching with our messaging? Through our network of learners, employers, Learning Partners, governments and other stakeholders, NEBOSH has a vast international community with which to engage. We have a wide range of channels that can help us to raise the profile of the profession, share best practice and educational content. Who are we reaching around the world? There is a NEBOSH qualification for anyone, at any stage of their career, in any role and in any industry or country around the world. The transition to digital and remote assessments – coupled with the move by many Learning Partners to offer virtual delivery options – has made NEBOSH qualifications even more accessible. How do we provide training and support that is relevant throughout a career? Many learners choose NEBOSH as their preferred HSE qualification(s) and route through continued professional development; they improve their skills, contribute to employer requirements and, in some locations, promote social mobility. We provide qualifications at all levels and offer both general and specialist products. How do our qualifications and services improve health and safety at work? Improving people’s knowledge and skills in workplace health, safety, environment, risk and wellbeing can, in turn, lead to fewer accidents and cases of work-related ill health, an improved environment and greater levels of wellbeing. We collaborate with organisations such as HSE, INSHPO, BCSP, RoSPA, IIRSM and government bodies to raise the profile and recognition of the profession, raise standards and share best practice to further educational opportunities. How do people value our qualifications/services? Time and again our case studies show the impact that our qualifications have on the individuals who achieve them – many health and safety careers have been built on NEBOSH success. Becoming a health and safety professional is a vocation and each and every learner helps to make a difference in their workplace and community. Our qualifications meet specific quality criteria and, where appropriate, are part of a national framework of vocational qualifications.
