Who We Are & Where We Are High Peak School is part of the Kedleston Group and opened in 2014.Our specialist multi-disciplinary team of leaders, carers, therapists and educationalists work seamlessly together. They teach and proactively support pupils who have been subjected to adverse childhood experiences, including trauma, toxic stress and associated mental wellbeing difficulties, aiming to break the cycle of adversity. Children and young people may also come to us because they are challenged by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and dyspraxia or moderate and specific learning difficulties. We have a specific provision within the school called the Quiet Learning Zone where we support children and young people who have an autistic spectrum condition including Asperger’s syndrome and those who have communication and sensory difficulties. The environment and teaching approaches are bespoke and tailored to ensure our children and young people thrive and can develop their self-esteem. We have extensive experience of supporting those with attachment disorders or those who have been victims of abuse and neglect. We actively encourage the development of life skills such as staying safe, acting responsibly and being respectful whether that be at school, at home or in the local community. From our beautiful rural location in Cheshire, we offer a unique setting having been converted from a hotel to create innovative and inspiring learning, social, recreational and living spaces.

Women's Health Specialist,I wanted to share my personal story with you…these are my 2 little girls (Maisie 4 1/2 years and Iona 21 months old) and I do what I do because of them (literally).I have had 2 amazing pregnancies and births. Maisie was born in the birth pool at the hospital and weighed 7lb 4oz. No drugs and no tears so a normal, straightforward birth. 12 weeks after having her I jumped straight back into an intense fitness regime (way way way too soon!!). Certain exercises made me lea…k slightly but that’s normal right??? I’ve just had a baby. 2 years later and I’m pregnant with Iona. Very similar pregnancy all went well (just tired from running around after a toddler and fitting in clients and classes in between!!). We had a home birth with Iona and she weighted 7lb 11oz – again no drugs and no tears. Second time round it took me longer to get back to intense exercise (for me juggling the needs of 2 children was so much harder than 1). The first class I went back to after Iona (must have been about 9 months post-partum). It included exercises like box jumps, double unders and I basically wet myself!! My body just wasn’t ready for this kind of intense exercise.

She has worked in this field for more than 20 years and holds a Masters degree in Adult Dyslexia Diagnosis and Support (ADDS). After completing a degree in Linguistics (York), she worked in adult education and was the Dyslexia Co-ordinator at a large FE college for ten years, simultaneously delivering the Postgraduate Diploma in ADDS for London South Bank University in the North West of England. Following her role as Senior Lecturer on an AMBDA accredited Pg Cert programme, she founded ADC Ltd, and works as an independent SpLD assessor and trainer. The majority of her SpLD assessment work is with FE and HE students, and she also provides specialist tuition and workplace assessment and training. Sally-Ann is a member of the Patoss APC Review team and holds a current Assessment Practising Certificate. All assessments are undertaken under the guidelines issued by the Spld Assessment Standards Committee (SASC). Sally-Ann is fully insured and quality assured. Her mission is to ensure that the assessment process is accessible, meaningful and of direct relevance to the individual so as to provide reassurance, identification of strengths, and suggesting ways forward to ensure equality and the challenging of barriers in both education and the workplace
