The purpose of our work is to provide assistance to schools and educational programs and to cooperate with teachers and educators. It offers to provide support and encouragement to each student and works closely with teachers who help shape their futures. Every student is encouraged by teachers to set high goals so that they can reach their full potential. We inspire our students to achieve their goals by setting high standards in a friendly, safe and challenging environment.
The Education and Training Foundation (ETF), established in October 2013, is the expert body for professional development and standards in Further Education (FE) and Training in England. We are a registered charity. We are the guardian of the Professional Standards for the sector. Our professional membership body, the Society for Education and Training (SET), has around 22,000 members, making it the largest professional membership organisation for practitioners in the post-16 sector. The ETF through SET remains the only body which confers Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status and Advanced Teacher Status (ATS). Our approach We take a considered, evidence-based and sector–inclusive approach to the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) support that we give to the sector. Our extensive research with the sector, including its training needs, is the foundation that underpins what we deliver. This is the “ETF Way”.

The interest of young people in science is developed by inspiring and knowledgeable teachers and technicians. From local events to national policy, we are a professional community dedicated to supporting excellence in science teaching and learning. The Association for Science Education (ASE) is an active membership body that has been supporting all those involved in science education from pre-school to higher education for over 100 years; members include teachers, technicians, tutors and advisers. We are a Registered Charity with a Royal Charter, owned by our members and independent of government. We seek to create a powerful voice for science education professionals in order to make a positive and influential difference to the teaching and learning of science throughout the UK and further afield.
