The HEY LEP will represent the region’s private sector in conversations with Government on economic development and ensure the region’s influence is maintained at NP11, Northern Powerhouse and Transport for the North as well as looking for opportunities to collaborate on geographical or sector issues with other parts of the UK and Yorkshire. The LEP appointed its first Board members on March 31st 2021, made up of a diverse group of leaders from across local business and the health, education, rural and voluntary communities, who will now begin developing a new evidence-based local strategy. This strategy will identify the actions needed to boost productivity, provide long term jobs and secure inward investment and government support. The strategy will also focus on the key priorities for funding and the allocation of resources to those priorities, which are the most important to the economic wellbeing of the new LEP geography. The LEP will also be charged with using its convening powers to bring together partners from the private, public and other sectors, alongside collaborating with a wide-range of local partners to act as an informed and independent voice for Hull and East Yorkshire.

For Tibetan Language teaching, the OCBS is pleased to endorse easytibetan.org. Presented by the allied CIC Tib-Shelf and Loplao, this is a unique chance to experience Tibetan culture through its language. They offer intensive courses in Tibetan Language together with evening classes focussing on Tibetan Buddhism, culture, and history. The courses are at two levels, elementary and lower intermediate. There are two long term winter classes: A beginner’s class which takes place on Sunday evening between 6 and 7:30 pm BTS, and an intermediate class that takes place on Wednesday evening between 7 and 8:30 pm BST. To read more about them, please click the link below. easytibetan.org MPhil In Buddhist Studies This two-year degree aims to give comprehensive training in one of the main Buddhist canonical languages, namely Sanskrit, Classical Tibetan and Classical Chinese. In-depth explorations of Buddhist history, philosophy, and literature will be the focus, along with a comprehensive study of important Buddhist texts in the original language. I am a Senior Hatha Yoga Teacher, based in West Cumbria, UK, with a wealth of experience and knowledge including 30+ years of teaching Yoga to groups & individuals. I initially qualified with the British Wheel of Yoga, then trained in the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Tradition to develop a stronger foundation. I have been in training and practising ever since! I focus on Therapeutic styles of Yoga for healing Body-Heart-Mind-Soul - including - Conscious Breathwork; Yoga Nidra Deep Rest; Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs; Yin Yoga; Restorative Yoga; Yoga for Menopause; Energy Medicine Yoga, Mindfulness & Meditation to name a few. I am a Qualified Homeopath LICH (since 1995) and practice using all my skills in a holistic way. I aim to offer an environment that is nourishing, nurturing, mindful & peaceful. Practices that encourage a self healing pathway to balance our systems to develop our wellbeing. I incorporate several styles of yoga and follow a seasonal theme (5 Elements & Ayurveda) to help balance the energies of the season - so we go with the flow of nature to enhance our own nature and wellbeing.

The Autism Community Research Network @ Southampton [ACoRNS] is a research-practice partnership that aims to improve the lives of autistic children and young people within education through addressing the marginalisation and underrepresentation of their views and experiences. The network began in November 2016 with initial funding from the University of Southampton’s Public Engagement with Research Unit and is co-directed by Professor Sarah Parsons, from the University’s Education School, and Dr Hanna Kovshoff from the School of Psychology in partnership with our Steering Group. Working together with special and mainstream educational settings from early years through to Higher Education we: focus on the transitions and trajectories of autistic children and young people decide what questions can be addressed by research and that matter to practitioners put children’s voices and experiences at the centre of our work through using collaborative, creative and participatory methods make a difference to practice Of course, we would not be able to do this work without our generous funders: University of Southampton (Impact Acceleration Fund), Froebel Trust, UKRI (ESRC), and the ESRC Festival of Social Science.
