Escape Dance Academy and Performing Arts was Established in 2015, by Ashleigh and Nicole Archbold & And has now opened its doors to its very own studios 10/9/16 Both teachers have been involved in dance from the early age of 3 in which they have dedicated themselves to the profession. Ashleigh has a BSc Sport & Exercise Science Degree in which she studied Physiology, Anatomy, Biomechanics, Psychology and Nutrition all in which is envitable in helping towards creating successfull dancers. Nicole is also currently studying at University in which she is studying BA Honours Degree in Dance. We at Escape are dedicated to providing the highest level of teaching possible. Both teachers currently hold teaching qualifications with the United Kingdom Alliance and are also part of the ADFP - a board dedicated to overseeing Disco Freestyle. From a young age the teachers have also competed in many comeptitions, winning many titles all over Great Britain & Ireland, including The World Championships, Great British Championships, The European Championships, DKKQ at the Blackpool Tower and many more. They have also taken numerous dance exams in many different dance styles. As well as this, they have performed in shows and Pantomines in many theatres including The Liverpool Empire, The Royal Court & The London Palladium to name just a few. Escape Dance Academy and Performing Arts was created in order to provide quality dance classes to children across Liverpool and Sefton, it was always a dream of Ashleigh and Nicole to build a successful school in which would show there passion and dedication to dance. Mian Jehangir Shahid is the Chairman and founder of Leopards Courier Services Pvt. Ltd. Born on July 15th, 1947, Mian Jehangir Shahid grew up in Lahore with his five siblings. Their father, Saadat Din, was a cotton dealer and his mother was a homemaker. He attended school away from his family in the city of Abbottabad, at the Abbottabad Public School. He was always an inquisitive and innovative student who liked to experiment with new ideas; an aptitude which would later lead him to find his potential in the courier industry. After completing his Master’s Degree in Economics, Mian Jehangir Shahid has moved to Karachi in 1970 and joined a newly growing advertising industry in Pakistan. His company made billboards that targeted the cities’ major commercial districts. New ideas for promoting products were being developed as the concept of advertising was becoming popular. However, as a recession hit the country in the 1970s, businesses in Pakistan were greatly de-valued and could no longer afford to spend money on expensive advertisement campaigns. Then entering the manufacturing industry following his advertising streak, he was surprised by the involuntary lack of correspondence between businesses due to the lack of a secure and systemized courier or postal service. Seeing a potential for a courier company that could connect the whole nation, Mian Jehangir Shahid established Leopards Courier Services Pvt. Ltd. in 1983 with five destinations in the country. His foresight and vision lead towards the expansion of the company, and after establishing one of the largest nationwide networks, Leopards went international in the year 2000, setting up offices in Dubai, Singapore and China. Moreover, Mian Jehangir Shahid in recent past opened Leopards logistics and shipments; a division of leopards focused on the national and international transportation of heavy shipments and containers. There are 8 benchmarks which constitute ‘good practice’ in career guidance for schools and colleges, they are: A stable careers programme Learning from career and labour market information Addressing the needs of each student Linking curriculum learning to careers Encounters with employers and employees Experiences of workplaces Encounters with further and higher education Personal guidance. Harrow College is now offering a range of new services to local schools for students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13. The College offer can be linked to the Gatsby Benchmarks as well as support the school to meet their commitment to the Technical and Further Education Bill's amendment passed in the House of Lords in February 2017 by Lord Baker. We provide support to learners to progress from schools onto further education and apprenticeships. We encourage awareness of the many career opportunities available to young people and the vocational or academic qualification route they may need to take to succeed in their chosen career. College staff can assist and work with schools to: • Provide vocational advice and guidance • Collaborate during Careers Events and Parents’ Evenings • Arrange visits to college for individual learners and/or groups • Organise workshops at the College or in your school for specific subject areas allowing students to get ‘hands on’ experience. I’m Michael Starkey. I’m an experienced music tutor offering lessons for 5 string banjo and acoustic guitar in Edinburgh, Scotland. These are for individuals and groups of all ages and abilities who maybe don’t know how to get started with their playing; feel stuck with where their playing is at; or are looking to hone their skills further by developing specific playing techniques. I help musicians (and aspiring musicians): Get their playing off the ground by learning the basic skills needed to begin making music Appreciate their existing skills and build on these by offering advice and ways to move forward with their playing Gain confidence making music with other people Develop techniques specific to old time clawhammer banjo playing, fingerpicking folk and country-blues acoustic guitar and acoustic guitar accompaniment for traditional folk music My reasons for teaching: I believe that music has had a very positive impact on my life. I started playing as a young teenager and have always been in bands and going out to gigs and sessions since. For me, it’s a good way to spend time with other people but also with myself. I find that when I’m playing, I’m less likely to be worrying about other things. A bit later on, I came across clawhammer banjo and old time stringband music and got obsessed. I found that there weren’t that many people to play with or learn from where I live so I decided to take up banjo teaching. I like to travel in the US, learn from musicians there, pickup new tricks and tunes and then bring them back over here to share. My experience: I am a full time musician, teacher (and gardener). I had my first guitar student when I was a teenager. I work with individual students from my home in Leith and also teach group classes for the Scots Music Group in Edinburgh. In recent years as a community gardener I have worked in therapeutic horticulture with people struggling with their mental health and with individuals with Autism. I’ve also worked as a tree planter. I play in a number of different bands, have toured and gigged across the UK and have made a number of recordings. I also co-host a weekly old time music session in Edinburgh.
