We have formed as a company because everyone in our team has experienced one too many losses in our lives. In many cases, these losses may have been prevented if the people around had the skills and confidence to help. We believe that first aid should be a life skill that everyone is taught, so that we are all more able to look after each other in and around our communities. In order to achieve this we believe that the most effective method is to teach all young people in schools.

The Dog First Aid Co. Ltd was established in May 2020 by Registered Veterinary Nurse, Amy. Written in line with the latest RECOVER guidelines and fully compliant with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, Amy created informative Ofqual regulated & CPD accredited courses to educate all dog professionals and owners on a variety of canine emergencies. Amy started her veterinary career as an Auxiliary Nurse in 2011 prior to becoming a veterinary nursing student. Amy began her training in Preston, Lancashire in 2013 before qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse in 2015 and joining the RCVS Register of Veterinary Nurses in February 2016. Shortly after qualifying, Amy moved from first opinion general practice into emergency & critical care nursing and began her Certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency & Critical Care – which she completed in 2019. Having worked in emergency & critical care medicine for some time alongside owning dogs of her own, Amy grew a passion for dog first aid and hopes that utilising her skills to educate pet professionals and owners, it will enable them to perform life saving care to their dog until they reach professional veterinary care. We have since welcomed Lauren to the team as a second course tutor. Lauren is also an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse as we believe veterinary based courses should only be taught by veterinary professionals who carry the necessary skillset and experience to teach the subject. The Dog First Aid Co. Ltd is CPD accredited and a registered training provider with iPET Network, which is an Awarding Organisation regulated by Ofqual, CCEA Regulation and Qualifications Wales, specialising in qualifications in the Canine and Feline sector.

Allwinds Dog First Aid Ltd was established in November 2018 by qualified veterinary nurse Amanda Williams, with the aim of utilising her vast veterinary nursing skills to deliver professional, accessible courses for dog parents and pet professionals alike. None of us like to think of our dogs in pain or having sustained an injury but should the worst happen, would you know how to help your canine companion? Would you know how to help a dog which was choking or had ingested a poison? We all hope to do the right thing and make the right choices for our dogs to help keep them from illness and injury but accidents do happen and usually when we least expect them. Be prepared and join us on one of our dog first aid courses. Learning even basic dog first aid skills can, in some cases, make the difference between life and death. All courses are fully compliant with The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and The Animal Welfare Act 2006. CPR skills are taught following the latest RECOVER guidelines. Allwinds is also approved by NARCH (National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists) to deliver courses to its members. Amanda herself is fully insured, DBS checked and a member of the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA). Amanda continues to routinely work with members of the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons to ensure her skills are kept fully up to date.
