REFUGEE SURVIVAL TRUST The RST vision is a welcoming, inclusive, safe Scotland for refugees and asylum seekers, where all live free of destitution and have the means and opportunities to realise their full potential. REFUGEE ACTION At Refugee Action, we help refugees who’ve survived some of the world’s worst regimes. We get them the basic support they need to live again with dignity. Then we help them build safe, happy and productive lives in the UK. WORLD VETERINARY SERVICE The Worldwide Veterinary Service works tirelessly across the globe to ensure that no animal goes uncared for. REFUWEEGEE Refuweegee was set up in December 2015 to provide a warm welcome to forcibly displaced people arriving in Glasgow. ANIMAL AID Animal Aid campaigns peacefully against all forms of animal abuse and promote cruelty-free living. SCOTTISH REFUGEE COUNCIL Through our direct services we provide practical support, advice and a listening ear to help people rebuild their lives in a sustainable and meaningful way. We work with communities and community groups. And we speak out against an unjust asylum system and campaign for policy changes that make a positive difference to people’s lives. In 2017 Musical Futures was selected by global education non-profit HundrED as one of 100 most innovative education projects across the world due to its unique pioneering status and ability to create a scalable impact. Musical Futures approaches involve making music learning relevant and engaging, imaginative and authentic for students, whatever their level of experience. We offer training and consultancy predominantly in the UK, but have links with institutions and schools in many other countries around the world. Our work is supported by our team of expert Champion Teachers have tried and tested the approaches in their classrooms. Musical Futures has developed into a national and international network of more than 13,000 teachers and practitioners adapting the approaches in the UK and overseas. 500,000+ young people benefit from Musical Futures every year. It’s the way we learn Music learning is most effective when young people are making music, and when their existing passion for music is reflected and built upon. PQA is a dedicated performing arts school with classes for children and young adults in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre (singing & dancing) and Film & Television.Pauline and her husband Steve opened their first Academy when they couldn't find anything that ticked all the boxes for their son, Charlie. They wanted to be able to provide performing arts tuition that was enjoyable, fun and would build children’s confidence. More importantly, they wanted to help young people to pursue their life's dreams, whatever those dreams may be, using drama to help children realise their potential and blossom into confident young people. To Pauline and Steve, the performing arts is more than just singing and acting and they wanted to reflect that at PQA. They therefore created a performing arts school that covers the entire arts spectrum, including lessons in Comedy, Drama and of course Film & TV. When 130 students turned up for the opening of the first PQA Academy, they knew they were onto something! Over 15 years later, PQA has more than 200 Academies nationwide and is the largest provider of Film & TV education for young people in the UK.
