Stained Glass - 2-Days Workshop For One  9.00am - 15.00pm

1 DAY FABRIC PRINTING WORKSHOP £75.00 The perfect introduction to fabric screen printing, our beginner workshop is ideal for anyone interested in learning the complete screen printing process or simply looking to print some tea towels or cushion covers with their own design for a special occasion. The sessions will run from 10am – 4:00pm (subject to class size) with a 30 min break for lunch. The day will be split as follows: Morning After a short intro into the studio and the process you’ll guided through how to coat and expose your design onto your screen. Afternoon After lunch we’ll decide on colours and select print pastes and go through the process of setting up the fabric tables ready for printing. When the screens are dry everyone will have a go at printing their fabric. Each person will walk away with 1 metre of fabric printed with their own 1 or 2 colour design. Outcome You will take away 1 meter of fabric with an experimental 1 to 2 colour printed design. — To book please scroll through the calendar and click the available date (highlighted in green) that you’d like to attend. All materials are provided including white/natural fabric, if you’d like to supply you own fabric please check with us first to make sure that it’s suitable for screen printing with our inks. This comprehensive course invites you to delve into the world of coffee, from its humble beginnings as a green bean to the rich and aromatic cup we enjoy every morning. Held in the heart of our local roastery, this workshop lasts an hour and covering education, hands-on experience and sensory enjoyment. Begin your adventure by exploring the fascinating world of green coffee. Learn about different coffee varieties, the significance of their origins, and the impact of various processing methods on flavour profiles. Our roaster will guide you through the intricacies of coffee processing, shedding light on the journey of beans from farms to coffee importers and roasters. We'll then run a demonstration on the transformation of green coffee firsthand and participants can take part in roasting a small batch of coffee on our sample roaster. This hands-on session not only explains the roasting process but also empowers you with the knowledge to appreciate the art and science behind it. The end of the workshop is a communal coffee tasting session. Enjoy the distinct flavours and aromas of various coffees, including the batch you helped roast. This sensory exploration will deepen your understanding of how coffee origin, processing and roasting influence the final taste of your coffee. Create your very own silver chain bracelet during this day workshop. We will guide you through all the processes involved in creating your own design. From cutting, shaping and texturing the silver, through to soldering and polishing. You will create each link and a T bar clasp. This is a fantastic project to help you learn or improve your soldering skills, and a great introduction to jewellery making. WHEN: Saturday 16th November 10-5pm WHERE:  Workshop 925 based at The Mayford Centre, just outside of Woking and very close to Guildford. Unit F9 The Mayford Centre, Mayford Green Woking, Surrey  GU22 0PP TUTOR: Kirsten Hendrich WHAT DOES THE DAY INVOLVE? Create your very own silver chain bracelet during this day workshop. If you are looking for some inspiration, we have created a Pinterest board to help inspire some ideas. You will be provided with 1.2mm thick wire for your links. We work really hard to make sure our students love what they create, so if you have a chunkier design idea in mind, please get in touch as the material costs increase and it can be more difficult to create thicker links, so we just need to check it is achievable within the time frame. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None, all abilities are welcomed. We support you throughout the session and provide demonstrations to show you the techniques and steps needed to create your own chain bracelet from start to finish. Our small classes mean we are able to provide each student with the support they require. Students must be 16+ Students aged 14 or 15 are able to attend if accompanied by an adult. CLASS SIZE: 7 WHAT IS INCLUDED? All tools and consumables are supplied. The cost of this course includes materials. YOU WILL BE PROVIDED WITH: 10cm of 2mm round wire to create your clasp 1.5 metres of 1.2mm silver round wire for your bracelet links If you wish to purchase additional silver to create alternative link thicknesses (should time allow), we stock silver which you are able to purchase on the day but please run your ideas through with us first by emailing hello@workshop925.com WHAT TO BRING: For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within Workshop 925. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Please bring any PPE, snacks and drinks to each session. We have a microwave, kettle and fridge to store or cook your lunch choices.
