Overall, our classrooms are well resourced, we have an inspiring library with an extensive genre, multi-purpose room that host music tuition, social and communication groups etc. The school is situated on the Royal Mile in the heart of the old town providing us with a range of modern and historical opportunities to enhance learning experiences for our learners. At Royal Mile Primary School, the dedicated staff are committed to providing students with a broad and practical learning experience. Teaching staff are keen to take on leadership roles that involve whole school initiatives. We aim to continue to implement technologies across all stages, community engagement and improved learning that meet the needs of students in the 21st century. The school works closely to build on home-school-community partnerships. Community engagement builds on the strong foundations of Literacy and Numeracy at Royal Mile and are a priority for our school. We have formed strong partnerships with Canongate Youth, Holyrood Palace, Scottish Poetry Centre. Our school wishes to strengthen our community of learners to maximise the participation of all stakeholders – students, families and the wider community and promote our school as a centre of excellence, opportunity and inclusion. At Royal Mile Primary we have used a range of data to focus on improvement through Self-Evaluation. Information gathered from feedback across the school community is used to help inform improvement planning as well as data from assessment. Termly learning, teaching and assessment meetings take place between SLT, class teachers and support staff using standardised assessments and professional judgements which help identify priorities to take forward and to identify learners who may require targeted support. All staff participate in an annual performance conversations to identify opportunities for career long professional learning linked to our school priorities. Observations and sharing classroom practice are used to identify and share effective teaching and learning across our school.

Making Internationalisation a Success Oxford EMI Ltd works with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Governments all over the world making Internationalisation a success. Our Oxford EMI Certificate for University Lecturers courses are available online and face-to-face. Our professional development courses are for universities, colleges, consortia which are internationalising. They are for lecturers, professors, academics and researchers who face the challenge of teaching their academic subject through English Medium Instruction (EMI). With strong partnerships in place between the local authorities and additional funders we are proud to create a wide array of opportunities for so many individuals. From Employment and Training to Emotional Health and well-being support, our dedicated team offer their advice and assistance across a number of topics so if you’re unsure as to whether we can help, feel free to get in touch and we can point you in the right direction. The Partnerships activities cover the Nottingham City Council boundaries of Area One, being Bestwood, Bulwell and Bulwell Forest wards and surrounding areas. For those that are not comfortable with the terms Bulwell Forest wards this includes areas also identified as Top Valley, Rise Park and Highbury Vale areas. Our strategic approach and commitment to the wider area increases year on year as a reflection of our hard work and positive impact, These areas may change from time to time depending on contractual funding and newly identified Partnership working. The Yoga Village

At the Yoga Village our ethos is inclusive and independent. There need be no barriers to practising yoga and so our classes welcome everyone, young and old, people with medical conditions, people who have practised yoga for years and people who are completely new to it. The Yoga Village began when we – a couple of yoga teachers – moved to Nottingham in 2005. We are now known throughout the city for our wide-ranging antenatal and family-centred yoga classes, which includes pregnancy yoga, birth workshops, postnatal classes, parent and toddler groups, kids’ yoga and mini retreats for mums. We love and value these classes immensely and believe that they are able to provide deep support for women and men through the intensity of early years’ parenting. We’re delighted that hundreds of friendships have been born out of these classes. We are also experienced and highly qualified teachers of general yoga classes for adults. We started out as general yoga teachers and have taught for two decades. Our style of yoga is essentially restorative and meditative with a focus also on physical practice and health. This style and training is the underpinning of all our classes and in particular gives us the tools to work with a broad range of students. We have run specialist classes for people who have suffered strokes, for prisoners, for people with ME, MS, addiction and more. Our general classes are for anyone interested in a style of yoga that is relaxing and holistic. The somatic (body) awareness practised can lead to a transforming relationship with our bodies which can gradually free us from old patterns (physical and mental) leading to more resilience (eg from the effects of stress) and improved mental and physical well-being. As teachers we’ve been fortunate enough to spend over twenty years training with a much loved senior teacher and in ashrams. When we started teaching, yoga wasn’t the big business it is today – with quick teacher-training courses and multiple franchises. We have been blessed to experience and value depth of training, long term commitment and a sense of integrity which honours the subject of yoga. Yoga means union: this can be union with ourselves, with our friends and family, and with our community and planet. Simple yoga techniques can help us live a healthier life that is more balanced and harmonious.

If you want to be different, just be yourself" Living and being brought up on a hill top farm in Yorkshire. Having a life-long interest in the countryside, health, well-being, affordability, cruelty-free products and using natural products where possible, I bring the best to my clients by doing the best for the environment in the process. A little about me… I studied rural science at school which I enjoyed as it covered life cycle of native animals, plants and trees, natural habitat, conservation and land management at a basic level, art and history also firm favourites. In my late twenties I decided to return to college to pursue a career in hairdressing and soon to be followed, by a two year course in beauty therapy. My passion for natural source of healing combined with plant extracts and massage therapy was realised. At this point I was working full time in a local beauty salon in Skipton, returning to Craven College to study aromatherapy part time for a further year. After gaining valuable experience in the beauty salon, whilst having a young family I worked part time for Next PLC Skipton. This position built my confidence, varied retail business and social skills, working with amazing colleagues, as a sales adviser occasionally a weekend manager. Moving forward I started my own business as a beauty and holistic therapist treating my clients in their own homes or local businesses. Always interested in building and growing my business, I have further trained in several holistic therapies, which include aromatherapy individual blends. I am also a qualified Tai Chi for Health instructor with my own classes in Skipton, Craven and Keighley, support local community wellbeing organisations providing healthy lifestyle activities. My family, friends and clients have always helped and encourage me with my career choice, offering to be guinea pigs when I have required models for new treatments and accepting my flexible working hours. In the past I offered my expertise as a volunteer complementary therapist, aromatherapy practitioner at the local wellbeing cancer support centre in Skipton. I have also held the volunteer position of chairlady of SWIFT (Support Women Inspiring Friendship Training) a local (Skipton Craven Keighley) small business networking group formally known as WorcNet supporting small businesses, charities, local organisations and groups. Due to the pandemic the networking group no longer exists.

CURVE DANCE, previously known as Footloose School of Dance in Leeming & Easingwold has been established for ten successful years. With a new name comes new, modern and fresh classes that not just provide pupils with great exercise but engage them creatively. We strongly believe Dance can educate, improve confidence, social interaction but above all its great fun! Curve Dance love seeing a pupil’s progression not just in their dance ability but in their ability to think creatively and work within a team. We see on a daily basis how allowing pupils to express themselves through movement can assist them in other areas of their life and give them the confidence to think outside the box. Curve Dance work on numerous performances throughout the year, help our pupils achieve their goals and improve their self-confidence. Curve Dance’s principal Kelly has been teaching for ten years, teaching dance to various youth groups, performing arts schools, plus she has choreographed numerous dance performances. From a young age Kelly was a keen dancer and gained numerous grades in Ballet, Tap and Jazz. Her love for performing and being on a stage was apparent early on. She performed in local events, Pantomimes and at Disney Land Paris. Kelly began her professional training at Newcastle Colleges Performance Academy and completed a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance. Throughout her three years at Newcastle she gained numerous opportunities to further her knowledge of the arts industry. Her ambition to teach and her interest in choreography grew and after leaving University she decided to become a Freelance Artist. Kelly currently works for North Yorkshire County Council and York City Council providing workshops and choreographing various dance pieces for performances and festivals. As well as running Curve Dance, Kelly currently works in numerous local schools and for North Yorkshire County Council providing creative workshops and choreographing dance pieces for performances. In addition she has been the Pantomime Choreographer at The Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond for six years. After several years working freelance, gaining experience of working within the community and project managing large scale dance events. Kelly has the experience and is very ambitious to provide pupils with a captivating insight in to the dance world and plans to incorporate numerous vibrant innovative performance opportunities.

London Lit Lab

We believe writers can learn a huge amount from each other. We set up London Lit Lab to share our writerly experience, knowledge and inspiration with up-and-coming writers. Since 2016, we have been designing and teaching our own London Lit Lab courses, and mentoring writers of both fiction and non-fiction. We also teach creative writing courses at other organisations including the British Library, Riba, Mslexia, Arvon Foundation, St Mungo’s, Bath Spa and Birkbeck universities, Writers & Artists and Google. Lily Dunn Lily Dunn is an author, mentor and creative writing teacher. Her first novel, Shadowing the Sun, was published by Portobello Books and her debut nonfiction, Sins of My Father, A Daughter, A Cult, A Wild Unravelling, a memoir about the legacy of her father’s addictions, was published by Weidenfeld and Nicolson in March 2022. You can find her personal essays in Granta, Hinterland, MIR Online, The Real Story and Litro, and she is a regular writer for Aeon. She is in her final writing up year of her doctorate at Birkbeck, University of London, and is interested in how to integrate the therapeutic power of writing with literature. She is co-editor of A Wild and Precious Life, Addiction, physical and mental illness and its aftermath: a collection of stories and poetry from writers in recovery, due to be published by Unbound in May 2021. She teaches creative writing at Bath Spa University and co-runs London Lit Lab. She also has experience teaching marginalised groups, specifically those in recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol. ‘Lily’s memoir course was first rate.
