Prof Venu Kavarthapu is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist interest in lower limb orthopaedics. He was appointed as a Consultant at King’s in 2006. He qualified at the AP University of Health Sciences in India, before completing his basic surgical and specialist registrar rotation training in the South East Thames Region. His sub-speciality training included a Minimally Invasive Hip Surgery Fellowship in Los Angeles and a Foot and Ankle Fellowship in London. Prof Kavarthapu was the orthopaedic member of the King's Diabetic Foot Team, which in 2007 won a prestigious Hospital Doctor Award. Prof Kavarthapu lectures at national and international conferences on diabetic foot surgery, trauma, hip arthroscopy, and primary and revision hip arthroplasty. He is also actively involved in research and has published several scientific articles on Trauma and Orthopaedics. Prof Kavarthapu’s other roles include Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London, lead clinician for the Orthopaedic department, and Orthopaedic Training Programme Director for SE London. He has been appointed Associate Professor at Odense University Hospital and University of Southern Denmark. He is also chairs the British Indian Clinical and Academic Partnership.

We constantly review the curriculum to ensure our pupils are engaged and motivated to succeed by teaching topics that are relevant to real-life, like The Fiver Challenge enterprise topic. In addition to our academic achievements, we are sporting champions and celebrate drama throughout the school. Our previous whole school performances have been: The Tempest, Oliver! and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Throughout the school many pupils learn a variety of musical instruments and our children’s singing needs to be heard to be believed. We also offer amazing outdoor play experiences for our children, residential trips for children in Year 4 and Year 6 and a variety of clubs.

Nick has 30 year's experience as a meditator, including 7 years as a Buddhist monk. He now brings together his monastic training with secular practices that allow everyone to benefit from this ancient wisdom of how to be happy through coaching people 1-1 to be the most powerful and creative expression of their life energy, as well as going into companies to run sessions that support mental health, emotional intelligence and creativeness. As well as his monastic training Nick has studied to lead the 8 week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy course (that is recognised as a valuable treatment option for depression), Trauma release work and self-care meditations that boost self-empathy. Through this combination of skills Nick has supported many people over the last 13 years to find a happier and more fulfilling life as they take part in his courses and personal tuition. Nick also leads a meditation group for gay men that is now in its 13th year and meets every Monday in central London supporting the mental health and well being of the gay community and can bring this into companies for their LGBTQ+ networks.

He has been dancing for over 15 years, initially training as a flamenco dancer, which enabled him to develop a solid individual technique. In recent years, Gino has focused on partner dances, particularly forró, which he was drawn to because of the diversity and richness of the music and the creative possibilities of forró as a dance form. Gino has studied with some of the leading forró dancers in Brazil and around Europe, absorbing the two main styles of forró (roots and universitário) over many years and forging a unique style that combines the two.
