Fast Beginners Balboa Workshop with Simon Selmon Learn this popular 1930s Swing dance. Join Simon, one of the first UK Balboa dancers of the Swing resurgence and learn the basics you need to dance the Balboa and how to incorporate it into your Lindy Hop or Jive. Class will include the Uphold, Downhold, Rock Step basics, Come Around, Grapevine and Lollies. Suitable for those who have tried couple of taster classes before or you have other dance experience.

Learn the core moves of Egyptian Bellydance, and put it together with a fun choreography to Egyptian pop. We will learn: Correct posture and alignment. Hip movements (figures of eight/mayas (vertical and horizontal), circles and omis, different types of shimmies, drops and accents, locks, twists etc) Undulations and belly accents. Arm and hand positions, paths and movements. Common turns and stepping patterns used in bellydance e.g. pas de bourre. No belly dance experience required, if you are an improver you can refine and "troubleshoot" your base technique here to improve your movement quality. Variations will be offered in class depending on your level. There is also the opportunity to perform the choreography in the group at an end-of-term show (£10 ticket fee)! All classes are streamed and recorded on zoom so you can catch up if you miss a class. Homework with 1-2-1 feedback on WhatsApp included (optional) About your teacher: Jessica Gamil is an international performer, teacher and judge with over 16 years’ of Bellydance experience. Jessica has won Bellydance competitions in Italy and Switzerland, and travels to Cairo and festivals across the world to continue her dance training. Jessica is known for her easy to follow explanations of bellydance technique, so you’ll pick up new movements in no time!

Have you heard of Q fever? Join this free informative session about the disease and how it impacts herds and flocks in the UK. We will share our findings and bring forward case information, where herds have been impacted by the disease and are now beginning to take control of the disease through a number of steps, including vaccination and biosecurity measures. Q Fever is a disease caused by infection with the bacterium Coxiella burnetii, which can infect cattle, goats, sheep and many other mammals. Studies on the UK cattle herd indicate that Q fever is highly prevalent. Q fever is zoonotic, with those people in direct contact with ruminants at most risk – This will be a great opportunity for those working with livestock or going onto farms, to get the answers to the many questions that this disease raises. He is Past-President of the British Cattle Veterinary Association (BCVA), has held a range of representative or policy linked roles and currently sits on the Veterinary Products Committee (VPC) of the VMD, the steering group of the Ruminant Health & Welfare Group and the EU ‘Q fever’ one health panel. He is chair of the Innovate UK Agriculture Sector Group and chair of the Defra Pathway Chairs Group. He is a Fellow of Askham Bryan College and chairs the Animal Health & Welfare Board for England at Defra. He has published widely in the field of sustainable food, herd health, precision livestock farming and breeding technologies. Katherine joined Ceva Animal Health in 2014 as part of the technical team, covering the UK in the role of veterinary advisor for the ruminant part of the business. Registrations are open to vets, farmers, SQP’s and those in farm supporting roles. Time permitting, the webinar will finish with a brief Q&A session.
