Bill is chairman of The Education Partnership, which has for the past twenty years provided a truly comprehensive range of governance and compliance expertise to schools, colleges, and outdoor education activity centres. He was previously a Head Teacher of all-age boarding and day schools in the maintained and independent sectors, including those for children with complex learning and behavioural needs. Bill works with proprietors and Head Teachers in preparation for and following up inspections by Ofsted (Education and Social Care) and ISI (Regulatory Compliance and Education Quality). His expertise in this area covers NMS, RSS, dual registration, initial registration, final registration and material change. Bill also works with schools judged as “inadequate” by Ofsted or “unsatisfactory” by ISI, helping them to achieve “good”, “outstanding” and “excellent” Ofsted or ISI outcomes. Bill is approached by an increasing number of proprietors, chairs of trustees and headteachers, who find themselves in challenging circumstances. This includes schools that have received a warning notice from the Department for Education due to their failure to meet the Independent School Standards Regulations (ISSR) and/or the National Minimum Standards (NMS) for boarding and residential special schools. Consistently, these schools see improvements at subsequent inspections. Currently, Bill is undertaking a longitudinal study of independent proprietorial schools, examining the governance implications of compliance and external inspection outcomes. To this end, we are looking for proprietorial schools in England for whom we could undertake a free of charge one-day compliance health check in return for participating in a confidential semi-structured interview on this subject at the end of the day. The importance of these issues was addressed by the London School of Insurance (LSI) and in 1985 a specialist division of the school was created - THE LSI INTERNATIONAL OUTREACH TRAINING DIVISION. Since then the LSI has reached out to several thousand candidates who have attended a range of LSI Outreach Training Programmes. Courses and seminars have been conducted in a number of areas including general insurance, claims, reinsurance, risk management, governance and management development. In 2016 it was clear that the convergence of technology with all aspects of business and everyday life was inevitable, and LSI developed an on-line platform of learning which could be used with mobiles, tablets, portables, and desk-top computers. ……. For 2020, LSI has taken a Big Leap forward. Welcome to the Scottish Multiprofessional Maternity Development Programme We offer training solutions for individuals and health-boards, providing excellent clinical skills training to bridge the theory into practice gap. The Scottish Multiprofessional Development Programme (SMMDP) is a Scottish Government subsidised training programme providing clinical skills based courses and other resources to the maternity profession in Scotland. The SMMDP was formed in 2003 to fill the educational gaps identified by the Expert Group for Maternity Services (EGAMS). Since then it has developed courses and responded to identified needs of the service and the requirement for such a programme was re-emphasised in the Refreshed Framework for Maternity Services 2011 and more recently in the Best Start review 2017. Due to our unique funding the courses are delivered at a cost that is affordable to all, this does not diminish the quality, value or the transferability of the courses. Governance of the programme is through NHS Education for Scotland, where the programme is based.
