The Autism Community Research Network @ Southampton [ACoRNS] is a research-practice partnership that aims to improve the lives of autistic children and young people within education through addressing the marginalisation and underrepresentation of their views and experiences. The network began in November 2016 with initial funding from the University of Southampton’s Public Engagement with Research Unit and is co-directed by Professor Sarah Parsons, from the University’s Education School, and Dr Hanna Kovshoff from the School of Psychology in partnership with our Steering Group. Working together with special and mainstream educational settings from early years through to Higher Education we: focus on the transitions and trajectories of autistic children and young people decide what questions can be addressed by research and that matter to practitioners put children’s voices and experiences at the centre of our work through using collaborative, creative and participatory methods make a difference to practice Of course, we would not be able to do this work without our generous funders: University of Southampton (Impact Acceleration Fund), Froebel Trust, UKRI (ESRC), and the ESRC Festival of Social Science.

The i2i International Soccer Academy offers students the exciting opportunity of studying for a sports or business degree, whilst focusing on their development as a soccer player. The three-year Strength & Conditioning and International Business Management degrees are delivered by the prestigious York St John University & Northumbria University – where the syllabus has been specifically designed to ensure transferability to the US and Canada. This academic study runs alongside a full-time Soccer Development Programme, which enables students to train five days a week in a professional environment. The timetabling of lectures and soccer development is meticulously planned to maximise the contact time in the classroom and on the pitch. Our experienced coaches, who have worked for English Premier League (EPL) clubs, work closely with each individual player – with a view to helping them pursue a career in the industry. Through the i2i Sports Soccer Agency, we are able to help our players explore any opportunities of signing professional contracts with both British and international clubs. Students may also be invited to play semi-professional football with i2i Sports’ very own club Tadcaster Albion who currently play in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Our workshops motivate learners to study STEAM by engaging them with “big science”. We expose students to what science is really like and encourage them to continue studying STEAM subjects in school and beyond. Our stunning 3D shows are captivating and informative. The visual impact of the high-tech delivery mechanism will ensure that it captures the attention of students of all ages and abilities. AstroCymru is passionate to raise pupil attainment levels by promoting the many different careers in the space industry from astronauts to various space scientists and engineers through various hands on workshops. Funded by the Welsh Government in 2013 AstroCymru started as project set up by Dr Paul Roche and Emma Wride as part of an outreach arm of the Astronomy Dept. at the University of S. Wales, delivering astronomy related workshops to schools across Wales. Further funding in 2015 allowed the project to expand and become part of the Physics and Astronomy Dept. at Cardiff University. Since 2018 AstroCymru has been a commercial company, continuing to deliver exciting and inspirational STEAM educational programmes to primary and secondary schools, festivals and public events.

Student Light Mission With 10.5% of students in the UK not making it to the end of their degrees and 78% of students in the UK saying they've experienced mental health issues, something has to be done to increase retention rates and tackle the increasing levels of poor mental health within higher education institutions. Through extensive research, we've identified many of the common causes of students leaving university and experiencing mental health issues. With the direct support of university students and services, we've come up with many solutions to try and tackle these problems. This business hopes to act as a tool and resource for personal development, social and community development and most importantly a support tool for students. Secondly, networking, sharing data & research, sharing ideas and collaborating across different universities and Students’ Unions is difficult and an issue well overdue to be improved; especially when it comes to doing large scale data collection for research that's is key to effective campaigns and connecting common student groups/communities. This platform hopes to bridge that gap between institutions and empower students groups and leaders to achieve so much more, both academically, socially and politically.

The Institute of English Studies (IES), is an internationally renowned research centre specialising in the history of the book, manuscript and print studies, textual scholarship, digital editing and new critical approaches to literary history. We offer postgraduate programmes, summer schools, and short courses. We host major collaborative research projects, provide research training in book history and palaeography; and facilitate new and emerging research in all areas of English Studies. The Institute of English Studies (IES) is one of nine member Institutes of the School of Advanced Study(Opens in new window) of the University of London. The Institute started life as the Centre for English Studies in 1991 and became a Programme of the School of Advanced Study on its foundation in 1994. The University Council conferred institute status on 2 December 1998, and it officially became the Institute of English Studies on 1 January 1999. Since then it has grown to the point where it now runs over 50 events a year, including research seminars, lectures, conferences, short courses, and a series of international summer schools for six weeks each summer. In addition, the Institute runs major externally funded research programmes and post-graduate degrees.

Clay Works Studios Dumfries is a Ceramic/Pottery workshop which provides a friendly, informal and supportive environment where everyone is welcome to come and get hands on with Clay, learn new Ceramic techniques and/or develop existing skills. portrait.jpg LAUREN TAYLOR Lauren graduated from Glasgow School of Art with BA (hons) Ceramics in 2000. Following this she worked for Dalton Pottery in Dumfries & Galloway, assisting people to throw pots and helping with the production of their slipcast ceramics. Whilst traveling in Australia she worked for various potters making functional Pottery on the wheel. On return Lauren moved to Totnes in Devon to work as an Apprentice at Dartington Pottery. Here she gained in depth practical knowledge of pottery workshop practice . Lauren went on to work as Production Thrower for Dartington Pottery until she moved to North Devon to work as Ceramics technician and recreational Teacher at North Devon College. Whilst working at the College she also completed PCET Teacher training qualification. Since the birth of her first Daughter in 2008, Lauren has been mainly working as a mother, whilst also making pots and doing pencil Portraits. Lauren exhibited her porcelain vases as part of Spring Fling 2012, and has exhibited her Ceramics since at Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries. I followed my wonderful art foundation course at Colchester with a degree in ceramics at Birmingham Poly. I founded Dalton Pottery in 1989 with my late husband Geoff and we enjoyed over 25 happy years working together and raising two brilliant sons. They say that the only thing you can be sure of in life, is that it will keep changing. Some of those changes are very hard, and I have found the one thing that always gets me through those challenges is my creativity and the creative community. Chris and Lauren have built such a wonderful resource at Clayworks and I am proud to be part of the team. One of the most rewarding things about spending a lifetime understanding the medium of clay, is passing on those skills to those who are just discovering how meditative and rewarding it is to work with. Whether painting, potting, sculpting, writing, or teaching I hope to never stop pushing the boundaries and challenging myself to be the best I can. 120777122_2839475512940495_7861241450601659473_n.jpg CHRIS TAYLOR After graduating from the University of the West of England in 1999 Chris became an apprentice at Dartington Pottery, Totnes. On completion of his apprenticeship he went on to work for several potters around the UK before beginning to develop his own range of tableware in 2005. In 2006 Chris became potter in residence at the Beaford Arts Centre where he worked until its closure in 2013. In 2009 Chris began studying for an MA in Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art graduating in 2011. It was during this period of study that Chris’ work evolved in to the heavily decorated and layered work seen today. In recent years Chris has won several awards for his work and exhibits across the UK in a variety of galleries and live events.In recent years Chris has worked as lecturer of Ceramics at Plymouth College of Art across the BA and MA programs. After graduating Abbie went on to work for Joanna Bird Contemporary Collections, London. Here she planned numerous exhibitions and oversaw the sale of significant ceramic works. Following this Abbie set up a home studio in Sussex. Here she began to develop her own work, primarily working with slab building and throwing.
