London

Civil Society Media is the UK’s only independent media company dedicated solely to supporting the charity sector. We deliver essential information, expert analysis and thought leadership through high-quality printed and digital publications, training courses, and live events. Our output is honed using the insight of our audiences, our own specialist knowledge, and a deep understanding of charities derived from working collaboratively with a wide range of sector partners. Civil Society Media was founded in 1990. Charity Finance was the first publication; Fundraising Magazine was acquired in 2005 and Governance & Leadership launched that same year. The Charity Awards launched in 2000. Our work is based on principles established by our late founder Daniel Phelan, whose core purpose was to help charities and other civil society organisations deliver sustainable public benefit. Dan’s legacy endures in our company culture and our products, and his vision continues to shape our strategy. The purpose of our products is to support and strengthen individual charities and the sector as a whole. As well as our own original content produced and edited by our nine-strong team of journalists and event programmers, we provide a platform for respected professional advisers and other experts to deliver specialist technical advice and guidance. We curate the best content from around the web, and we facilitate conversations and peer learning among our audiences. Our content informs, facilitates debate, empowers, champions and challenges charities to be the best they can be. - See more at: https://www.civilsociety.co.uk/about-civil-society-media.html#sthash.jBGpTBnH.dpuf

Uk Sports Schools

London

WHO WE ARE UK Sports Schools offers specialist free advice and support for parents and students aged 10+ seeking to attend independent private schools in the U.K. that combine academic excellence with clear, proven and potentially elite pathways in football. We can help, because we have been through the process as parents 6 years ago, and since then, we have researched and established strong connections with some of the leading schools in the U.K. There are many excellent private independent schools in the U.K. with strong academics and offering a range of sports. However, when seeking a school specifically for football, you need to select carefully. A player who is serious about football needs a specialist U.K. football boarding school environment which is geared towards football progression and mirrors a pro club academy experience as closely as possible. The school should be playing at the highest levels in the country, offering a competitive fixture list with other top schools, non-league teams and pro academies and having an expert coaching team with influence in the game. Further, ideally the school should have a proven track record of clear pathways into professional football clubs or developing players who then go back to their home countries and play at a good level or go on to gain sports scholarships at US universities. We provide you with our expert, personal, insightful and unbiased advice so that you are able to find the right school for your son or daughter and most importantly have peace of mind.

Insight into what makes a product, business initiative or government policy work is often the hidden – yet defining – factor between success and failure. It is our sector that provides the deeper intelligence needed for our world today. Here is a definition of market and social research from the MRS Code of Conduct. "Research is the collection, use, or analysis of information about individuals or organisations intended to establish facts, acquire knowledge or reach conclusions. Reading

The Museum of English Rural Life is owned and managed by the University of Reading. We use our diverse and surprising collection to explore how the skills and experiences of farmers and craftspeople, past and present, can help shape our lives now and into the future. We work alongside rural people, local communities and specialist researchers to create displays and activities that engage with important debates about the future of food and the ongoing relevance of the countryside to all our lives. We were established by academics in the Department of Agriculture in 1951 to capture and record the rapidly changing countryside following World War II. The Museum is based on Redlands Road in a building originally designed by Sir Alfred Waterhouse in 1880 for local businessman Alfred Palmer, of the Huntley & Palmer biscuit company. The house then became St Andrews Hall of Residence in 1911, and in 2005 a modern extension was built onto the house for the Museum. The Museum was awarded £1.8million from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) in 2014 for the redevelopment of the galleries, reopening in October 2016. The redevelopment strengthens and renews our links with agriculture as well as enhancing our position in supporting engagement opportunities for students and academics across a wide variety of disciplines, nationally and internationally. The MERL and Reading Museum are currently in a strategic partnership as part of the Arts Council England National Portfolio 2018-2022. As Museums Partnership Reading we work together to provide cultural opportunities for Reading’s young people and diverse communities, through schools, volunteering, digital engagement and exhibitions.
