Hi, I am Anna. I set up WanderWomen Scotland Ltd in November 2018, in order to encourage women into the Outdoors, and to enable them to have their space the male-dominated Adventure world. Nature has been my happy place ever since growing up in East Germany, a locked-down country. Getting away from propaganda, Stasi spies and political control, getting outdoors meant freedom and truth, even if that meant holidaying in really basic huts, without electricity or flowing water, skinny dipping in all kinds of bodies of water and cooking over fire. After spending my 20s in London, turning my back on nature a little, yet still cycling everywhere, having my own children made me appreciate the outdoors again, I re-familiarised myself with the feeling of content that the seasons brought, or the reassurance of the cycles of growth in the garden, or the cycles of the moon. Disagreeing with the early school starting age in the UK, I flexi-schooled my 2 boys throughout their Primary School years, working with local rangers, counting bumble bees and orchids and doing other conservation tasks, built mandala sculptures, bug hotels, community gardens and a willow play village at a local park and set up an outdoor learning group for pre-school children. Once it was not cool enough for them anymore, spending their Mondays climbing trees and making fires with Mama, I decided I wanted to keep sharing the benefits of nature, as well as my survival skills – and with the help of a vision board, and support from family and friends, WanderWomen was born: Offering Outdoor events in a mix of mindfulness and adventure. Wild Swimming is my Meditation, Solo Camping is Selfcare, Yoga is being playful, Silence is where my Creativity gets birthed, and Walking is thinking & problem-solving. Cycling is getting me from A to B, and my competitive side manifests itself in going slower. I love the smell of fire and the sound of rain on canvas. Plant connection is strong, and I forage, appreciate and lay mandalas to practice mindfulness.

Publishing and Thesis ServicesWe’re really proud to say, The Book Hub Publishing Group is now the largest independent Publishing House in the scenic west of Ireland with Offices just outside Athenry town in County Galway and in Limerick. 2020 with the global pandemic seemed a good time to institute some change in direction in the life of the Book Hub Publishing Group which has been busy publishing authors since 2009. Very grateful to Niall, John and the crew for their work over the years, we really wanted to get a stronger sense of the company being led by women and promote the idea of female entrepreneurship in Ireland so we had a team meeting (Zoom as we were all in various states of lockdown) and agreed we needed a formal role of Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Equality – Dr. Mary Helen Hensley was perfect for the role with her life experiences and publication interests. We aim to review inclusion across the board in our projects. Our Northern Ireland Senior Script Reviewer, Anna Gray, was happy to maintain and build on her existing role and also move into ghostwriting. Dr. Phil Noone from Ocean Mindfulness, assumed Senior Irish Reviewer role and Susan McKenna took over as Director, Commissioning Editor and Author Rep. Since 2020, we’ve continued to grow and work with existing and new authors from as far afield as the United States, Canada, Switzerland and even Peru and, of course, we continue to work with Irish authors here in Ireland. We’ve also published several volumes of poetry and have more book projects from several genres in the pipeline. Being women in business is particularly challenging, but also deeply rewarding. We hope to continue to pave the way for diversity and inclusion in publishing and are committed to sparking creative talent. *We have been very fortunate to receive Arts funding for several of our books including ‘Eurydice 29’, ‘Midlandia’, ‘Going Back for all I’d on’ from the Arts Office, Westmeath County Council. Indeed, ‘Eurydice 29’ was also funded by the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht. ‘Bittern Cry’ was funded by Artl!nks and Waterford County Council. ‘Little Pocket of Love’ was funded by Humanli Social Impact Organisation.

Based on old-world ideals with a loyalty to our family of local Artisan Cheese producers, we are a small, independently run business dedicated to the time-honoured traditions of the culinary and agricultural world of cheese. Established recently, Nick Birchall (one of the partners of The Cheese Shop) has worked directly with producers for more than 20 years in order to select cheeses at their peak. Our small staff of knowledgeable cheesemongers are experts in the field who love teaching through taste. We prioritise education in the art of properly maintaining cheese so that you can be assured of receiving the highest-quality products available. Cheese has been produced around Nantwich from the Roman times, when the Romans used the salt to preserve the cheese. Cheshire Cheese has been produced from cows fed on the pastures around Nantwich for centuries. Nick Birchall is a 6th generation farmer’s son and for the last 20 odd years he has worked with his life long friend, Carol Faulkner (Affineur & Judge) to build his in-depth knowledge of British Artisan Cheese. This led to Nick joining Carol at The Nantwich Cheese Festival (and other Festivals) as a Judge of Artisan Cheese. He is a self-confessed geek when it comes to cheese! In 2020 we opened The Cheese Shop on Hospital Street, Nantwich and offer over 150 different Artisan cheeses; depending on the season. Nantwich has one of the county’s largest collections of historic buildings, second only to Chester. These cluster mainly in the town centre on Barker Street, Beam Street, Churchyard Side, High Street and Hospital Street. Our shop is located in one of the buildings that survived the Tudor Fires of 1583. In order to celebrate Cheese, we created a “cellar” in the shop so that visitors can see the Affineur cosset the cheese. The cellar was built to enhance the quality of our products, as well as to honour the craft of each cheesemaker. It’s been designed to ensure that every wheel of cheese matures in its ideal environment. Cheese matures in the cool with a high humidity to achieve that perfect taste.

Welcome to Louise Anne Designs!   I am Louise and I began my journey into Silver Metal clay whilst running a pottery studio and soon became hooked! The magic of turning a piece of clay into a solid piece of Hallmark Silver never fails to amaze me and I love sharing this with my students and helping them create a lovely piece of jewellery that they can wear proudly home makes my job the best. I hold a Higher Diploma in Silver Metal Clay and am a senior metal clay instructor and glass teacher. I have been teaching for over ten years running classes from my studio in Market Bosworth and many jewellery schools and galleries all around the Midlands area. I am a member of The Guild of Jewellers and am on the education committee of the alliance of metal clay. I also hold a Gold student choice award. One of my proudest moments was visiting Tokyo and seeing one of my pieces displayed in the Silver Accessories Exhibition. Becky Hi, I’m Becky, the Principal here at The Dance Zone. I began dancing at the age of 4, learning Freestyle, Ballroom and Latin American. At the age of 14 I became a Student Teacher and fell in love with teaching. I enjoy studying the theory side of dance and went on to take the Associate Teacher qualification in both Ballroom and Latin American with the IDTA; and Ballroom with the ISTD. I now have the pleasure of passing this knowledge on to any of our student teachers who wish to train to become qualified dance teachers and fulfil their own dance dreams. Quite some time ago, I discovered a love of authentic Street dance and still enjoy attending classes in this discipline. Over the years I have achieved qualifications to teach Zumba, Zumba Toning and Mash It Up Fitness, all great and fun exercise programs. I have had the pleasure of partnering students at competitions in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, something I will never forget. I do not have a favourite style, I just love to dance; even my holiday every year is at a dance convention! Yes, dance is my passion, but it’s more than that, it’s who I am. Amy Amy Hi, I’m Amy, and I’ve been dancing at The Dance Zone since it opened in 2011 but have been dancing for 13 years. I have been a student teacher since 2017, I also take lessons in Tap dancing elsewhere. I have loved growing up and spending time with the other amazing student teachers and getting to know all the kids. Going to dance just provides me with a good opportunity to have fun and learn something new at the same time. Beth Beth Hi, I’m Beth, and I have been dancing since I was 3 years old. I started off doing ballet then moved to The Dance Zone at the age of 6. Dance was always something that I have loved so it’s amazing I have been able to continue dancing my whole life. I competed in several competition as part of a Street dance crew. I have taught dance since I was 12, I love being able to share my passion with the kids and being able to teach and dance with them. It’s rewarding to see the kids perform knowing that you helped to lead and encourage them. My favourite style of dance is street as it’s fun and allows for you to add your own style to routines. I have grown up with The Dance Zone and had the opportunity to be taught by and dance with amazing people and have amazing memories.
