Like thousands of parents across the UK, mother of three, Reedah El-Saie was frustrated with an antiquated education system originally designed post industrial revolution to prepare children for factory work. She had witnessed how exams and revision had caused her children stress and anxiety, resulting in them losing their love of learning. As a family of diverse heritage Reedah hoped for a more inclusive curriculum both in terms of content and delivery. In winter 2018, whilst preparing her son for 11+, Reedah came across Fortnite often played during revision breaks. She noticed how the 3D open world, multi-player, action game appealed to children across the world. She imagined an educational game through a 3D open world, including diverse characters and stories, fully aligned with the UK national curriculum and 11+/13+ entrance exams, enabling learning through play. After extensive but fruitless research for a pre-existing educational mobile games app aligned with the UK national curriculum, Reedah founded Brainspark Games (previously Xplorealms). Her vision was to create a 3D open world, celebrating diverse characters, using immersive technology to engage wider audiences as well as BAME, vulnerable and neurodiverse. She researched the curriculum pedagogy, twenty-first century skills movement and flip schools and held workshops and interviewed children, parents and teachers to ensure user-led games!

We plan to bring together all groups and individuals in Sandwich who are interested in the late medieval period who wish to contribute to the living history of Sandwich.We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, a CIO, formed in 2018 with the objective registered with the Charity Commission: To advance education for the public benefit on matters to do with the late medieval period, ie approx. 1330 to 1480 with a special focus on the heritage of Sandwich Town, Kent, in particular but not exclusively by providing a maritime and land based crafts “living museum”. Aims We plan to bring together all groups and individuals in Sandwich who are interested in the late medieval period who wish to contribute to the living history of Sandwich. The base for our activities is the wooden boatyard building on the slipway by the Quay, the Sandwich Medieval Centre. A special focus is engaging with young people. In addition to the centre being an historically interesting visitor centre, it will also be the base for educating and mentoring juniors in medieval crafts and skills to ensure that the rich history of Sandwich in this period is not lost to future generations. I was born in Ohio and grew up in a small farming village before qualifying as a teacher and moving to England in 2003. After getting married, my husband and I moved back to his hometown in Cornwall. Outside of the clinic, you can find me exploring the local beaches and coastal paths (with a coffee, of course). I decided to return to my passion for caring for others in the health and fitness industry (my original career path prior to teaching) after dealing with work-related stress and suffering from chronic pain following a severe back injury. As a result, I have a special interest in the connection between mental health and how we feel pain. My goal is to help as many people as possible who are coping with injuries, pain, and/or stress by providing soft tissue therapy, which combines massage, education, and rehabilitation to help you take control of your pain or injury. I qualified as a Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist after studying with the Institute of Sport & Remedial Massage (ISRM) at The Massage Training School in Exmouth. I have treated a wide variety of injuries, chronic pain, and musculoskeletal pain both in my clinic and for a short period prior to COVID, for the Camborne Rugby Football Club while assisting the lead physio.

Message to parents More Than Ed continues to operate as normal. We will not be wearing facemasks, or asking your children to do so, as we do not work in confined spaces and all young people at More Than Ed are classed as SEN. However, should you wish us or your child to wear a facemask in the car due to someone in your family being at higher risk of infection, please inform us. All students' temperatures will be taken prior to their journey to school, and any child that appears to have a higher than normal temperature will be asked to remain at home until they have received a negative COVID-19 test result (not a Lateral Flow Test result.) More Than Ed Therapeutic Provision offers a therapeutic education in a nurture-based environment for young people at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream school, or those who have already been excluded. As an Attachment and Trauma Aware Provision, we offer in-house Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy. All our staff will adhere to all Government restrictions when not at work so that your child and family are protected as much as possible. Please ensure that you and your family continue to follow all rules and restrictions in order to help keep our staff and other students safe.
