Craft workshop using a variety including glass cutting along with designing with dichroic glass elements to make sparkling glass jewellery. Fused Glass Workshop – Glitzy Glass Jewellery I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth, near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop Everyone loves sparkle and this workshop is perfect for making wearable art for yourself or to give as give away as gifts. After a brief introduction to how to work safely with glass, I will teach you the technique of cutting and layering sheet glass to produce your own unique creations. The process of cutting is a skill that takes time to develop but wonderful designs can be built from basic shapes. No experience necessary, just an understanding that you might not be “perfect” straight away. I’m told I make it look easy, but I’ve been doing it, almost daily, for 15 years! Produce a range of unique jewellery using specialist glass called Dichroic Glass, a rainbow of colours and a myriad of decorative inclusions, you will design and make jewellery pieces including pendants, earrings, cufflinks and brooches. Your creations will need to be fired, cleaned and finished by Stevie so will be ready in around three weeks. The materials cost will enable you to make at least 3 (maybe 4) pieces in the time, maybe more depending on your chosen designs and how quickly you work. Fused Glass Workshop – Set of Trinket Dishes I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop Create a set of 3 mini dishes, a perfect size for a tealight candle or to store your earrings and rings. Make for yourself of to give as gifts. Explore two different design/construction processes and use precut tiles, rods and frit balls to create your designs. Can’t make the workshop? Still want to make your own fused glass dishes, check out my simplified (but still sparkly) make at home kit. Explore a little in this short fused glass taster workshop and learn a little about how the kiln firing to 800 degrees c changes the raw/pointy pieces of glass to a have smooth, shiny finish. Simply complete your designs during the session and leave them with me at the studio for me to fire twice, once flat and once into the bowl mould. We will make arrangements to pick up a few weeks later or I can post your finished piece at cost. I will talk through all the Health & Safety in the session but I want you to know now, you will be handling precut glass pieces, they have pointy ends but with the right handling, they won’t hurt you. Recommended for ages 10 and above, all under 16s to be accompanied by a paying adult. Craft workshop where you have a go at simple glass cutting before layering your chosen colours up with textural details to produce your own Big Bold Hanging. Fused Glass Workshop – Big Bold Hangings I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This in person fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop For this workshop I’ll give you a base piece of clear glass (precut and with a hole drilled (approx 30x5cm) for you to decorate with stripes of your favourite colours. I prepare lots of transparent glass to give you lots of strips to cut to length yourself. Build a design and layer as you like with extra textural details to really personalise your make. This is a great introduction to glass cutting, anyone can do it with the tips and tricks I’ll show you. The main thing to remember is to have fun! You will play with different types of decorative glass elements and learn a little about how the kiln firing will change them. Simply complete your design during the session and leave it at the studio for me to fire, clean and finish with a lovely ribbon, ready for you to display and enjoy. We will arrange for you to collect your piece after a few weeks or I can post your finished piece at cost. About this fused glass workshop Whether you create a design inspired by wild flower gardens, fields of Poppies, a layer of Bluebells or hills covered in Heather you’ll enjoy playing with glass shapes and textures to create your own abstract and colourful creation. Choose from 3 options of pre cut glass bases and create either a bowl, sculptural wave or hanging panel. Round Bowl – approx. 17cm. Wave – approx. 32cm across x 7 tall. In this workshop, your chid will create their own Christmas stocking using a variety of festive stencils and craft trims! We will also have a mini Christmas themed craft as well as a break for squash and a snack. Instructions We shouldn't get too messy during the workshop but please don't send your children in their best clothes!

Find out how to laser cut and engrave with Gifted Crafts Co. We’ve been lasering for 12 years now and have the experience to show for it. We use both kit style laser engravers and professional CO2 laser cutters throughout our workshop, so you can try lots of materials and techniques in both 2D and 3D. Our one-to-one sessions are designed to help you get started on your own projects, even if you don’t know anything about lasering. We’ll teach you the software, cover what materials work best for different techniques, and give you ideas for things to try out at home or in your studio.

In this workshop, your child will create a selection of New Years Eve themed crafts including a rosette and 2024 calendar! The will be a break for squash and a snack and also a mini New Year countdown. This workshop is aimed at age 5+ and you may drop them off or stay for the session. Any age is also welcome along if you’re happy to craft with your little one, there is a 10% discount for all siblings. I will also be running Little Crafters session aimed at age 4 and under in the morning. Would you like to add a persona touch to your old coat? Change a look of your favourite cardigan? Wearing a customised, handmade brooch could completely change your look so why not to join us for a 2-hour brooch making workshop, where you will learn very basic stitching and working with various upcycled fabrics including felt, tweed and tartan scraps. If you prefer to use your own materials or have some pieces of sentimental value you would like to use, you are more than welcome to bring them along. During this workshop, we will also touch on the theory of colours and how they can affect and change our moods. This workshop is led by Anna Baran, a trauma informed designer, artist, and maker based in the north of Edinburgh. She has always drawn inspiration from the sea, with her walks to local beaches, particularly Wardie Bay during the lockdown, becoming not only a source of new ideas for her artistic practice but also a way to gather materials such as driftwood, pieces of plastic ropes, and seashells. Anna has consistently sought to incorporate upcycled materials into her art, using her work to raise environmental awareness and promote art as an accessible medium for self-expression, regardless of financial circumstances. In addition to participating in various art exhibitions and fashion-related events, she has delivered a wide range of art and craft workshops to diverse communities across Edinburgh.
